The premonitions started after Gracie almost drowned, and no matter how much she wishes it, they won’t stop. They sneak up on her unawares, giving her flashes of insight into the past or the future. They’ve only ever caused trouble for Gracie until tragedy strikes close and the premonitions become the keys to solving the mystery. Gracie realizes that she can no longer cruise along in the backseat of her life—she has to take action. With the disappearance of her friend Emily, the reappearance of More...

The book is a piece of evidence that Judy still knows what the readers expect when they buy the book. The cover of the book is exactly what the book is about "A disturbed mind beyond a beautiful face". The entire story revolves around the key character Gracie. Throughout the book Gracie has abilities to empathize what a few fellow subjects in the book think and can also pick up flash of the past, present and future of a disturbed mind. Rather than involving another person into Gracie's More...

Judy Blundell takes readers into the labyrinth of questions through flickers of psychic flashes, revealing bit by bit of clues and information. Past, present and future collides in a chaotic and suspenseful experience that will leave readers thrilled and curious. Blundell explores the depth of pain and grief in this dark novel.

There are times that I was frustrated and slightly annoyed with Gracie. Let’s face it, she isn’t a likable character. She pushes away the people who want to he More...

Honestly, when I first saw this book, I was like, OMG I so wanna read this. The cover is great, the title is great, the summary is great. But then, I opened the book and. BAM! What a disappointment. I read the first 50pages and it was dead boring. Every time I tried reading it some more, I fell asleep. Honest. I was so excited to read the book because it looked so amazing and it let me down. I was not captivated enough to read the rest of the book. Even though it might have gotten better, I deci More...

I'm currently reading the book The Sight by Jude Watson/Judy Blundell. I'm not yet halfway to finishing it, but so far it's really good.

Here's my summary:
Gracie has premonitions. She doesn't know what to do with them, because all that she saw never lead to anything good. But ever since her best friend, Emily disappeared, she's forced to use her premonitions to find and save her. Many things are unraveled along the way, but there's also some secrets that are better left un More...

THE SIGHT is actually the compilation of two previously released novels, PREMONITIONS and DISAPPEARANCE. Originally published in 2004 and 2005, the two stories are now combined into one work.

The two books revolve around Gracie. She is uprooted from her home in Maryland after her mother is killed in a car accident. Gracie has always had feelings about things. And the day her mother dies, she begs her mother not to leave the house. She More...

Falling in love with Judy Blundell/ Jude Watson is easy to do. Her writing is suspensful and easily relatable. Family and friend issues, school problems and crimes in a small town in Washington doesn't seem likely, but Judy/Jude prooves that not all towns, are good.

I loved both books in The Sight. Gracie is always thinking one step ahead of the police, and with her gift, finding out clues that not even forensics could find out. It is my absolute favorite book on the face of t More...

When I requested this novel from goodsreads bookwasp, I actually did not have high hopes for it. After reading the first page, I cringed at having picked up another angst filled young adult novel where the lead is so antisocial and broken that all they have is contempt for the world around them. That lasted about three pages before the writing was dominate by plot and character development. I was so surprised by the change, I almost had whiplash.

If I ever rate a young adult novel mo More...

I recieved The Sight by Jude Watson as a review book from Scholastic Books. I was estatic to find that this is actually two novels in one. The first book being Premonitions and the second is Disappearance. These are the first two books in the a series; about a young girl by the name of Gracie. Gracie is not your typical girl after having been seeing visions since she was 10 years old. Although, Gracie finds herself fighting this fight alone after having lost her mother in a fatal car accident.[r More...

This was a fun, fast read, and another that I'll be suggesting to reluctant readers. My only complaint is that while Judy/ Jude does a FANTASTIC job of building tension, the climaxes to the stories themselves fall a little short of the rest of the book. However, I don't think that's a fault that a student would catch, and if more books were to be published in this mini-series I'd recommend them without hesitation to just about any middle school student and a whole More...

Premonition - 4 stars

I really liked this novel. It started off a little slow, but I really liked how Watson tied it all up in the end.

I really don't have much to say about this book, as you can see, but it was pretty good. I definitely recommend it.

Disappearance - 5 stars

Great book! I liked the Premonitions better than Disappearance. This is a good mystery paranormal read.

I just can't figure out the whole psychic thing. She sees things, but can't get them figured out until she is in a very dangerous situation that the "vision" led her to in the first place. I don't see how it helps, if it puts her in danger. I found myself yelling at her to go to her aunt. Her aunt knows about her visions, so she would believe her. Even the detective in tow More...

premonitions, flashes... what does Gracie see... past, present, future kidnappings and murders... does she have a gift... can she help the police or just put herself in harms way

This double novel is full of surprises... a real page turner. I couldn't put it down!

Overall this book, which includes two books in the series, is a good read. The first book Premonitions and the second book Disappearance are attention grabbers. They pull you in and you can't stop reading until you find out what really happened and who did what. Premonitions was a little odd, but Disappearance was the best book out of the two. This is a great volume for those who are fans of mystery and thrillers.

I thought this book was pretty good. I really enjoyed the characters. I liked the first novel better. Gracie is brave and not afraid to follow her instincts and I like that when it comes to characters. AND IT WAS NOT A GUSHY ROMANCE!!! that was so nice. I finally got a break from the sickening gooey romances. Gracie has a crush on a boy, but it doesn't go into detail. I highly recommend these books.
