I didn't know what number of the series this was when I hired it from the library, because it was the only one the library had at the time. I assumed it was the first, or close to the first actually, because it didn't appear in the list in the front of the books, so I assumed. You know what they say about that word ;)
Now, it wasn't a bad book, but it all seemed really unlikely and I couldn't really get into the story or the character. I couldn't understand half of what they referring to, because...more

I've been reading the Private series for the past year or so now. These novels are definitely not realistic and are highly over dramatic, but it's lots of fun and a guilty pleasure. Think of it as a daytime soap opera in YA book form.
I don't remember when it happened, but sometime during the series, I stopped liking Reed Brennan, the protagonist. In Vanished, I freaking despised her. I hated the character she had become, and I found myself finding Noelle Lange (the resident bitch), much...more

Can I just say that yah Reed broke up with Upton (mistake) but she didn't really like Sawyer but felt bad so she let him kiss her, thinking it might just change how she feels about him. But it didn't.
Josh is all of the sudden really jealous of Reed and Sawyer. But why wasn't he before? I mean Sawyers not the first guy Reed has dated since they broke up. So Josh comes over in the middle of the night because he's so jealous (when's he's the one who's had a girlfriend since basicallythe day they br...more

5 hours 3/25-3/30 So far it is super good, when Noelle and Reed get back from St. Barths, Billings has been torn down and everybody is in quite a tizzy. Then Reed goes into her room one day and finds a old journal on her bed and it is the journal of BLS. The Billings Literalry Society. She asks Noelle to help her get it together so the Billings girls can get back together but she refuses. Next she goes to Ivy Slade for her help, who is dating her ex Josh who she is still in love with even though...more
Just finished reading Scandal, the latest book in Kate Brian’s series Private. It’s the 11th book in the series (not including the prequel) and I found it to be the weakest book. Normally this series has me dieing just to turn the page in suspense, this one really didn’t. It was the last two-three chapters that really had me going. But I can see that Kate really needed this book to set the stage for Vanished (out the end of August).

The Billings house is gone. But Reed Brennan won't let that happen. At least.
While thinking of a way to get the Billings back together, someone left her a book: about the Billings Literary Society, a society not even the Billings alumna ever heard of. She starts according to the book, rules according to the book. But seems like going by the book tore her away from her friends.
This eleventh book of Private is, as usual interesting, which is good because Suspicion has somehow lost its sparks (to...more

Now that Billings has been torn down by the new headmaster, Reed and her friends are a nation without a state. Or something. Things look pretty bleak until Reed gets a mysterious book from someone associated with Billings, and she decides to re-found the Billings Literary Society. Will the BLS bring her friends closer than ever or drive them apart?

This book was about after Reed came back from her terrifying vacation. She finds out that the Billings House she has been living in her whole entire Easton carrer is gone. It got completely destroyed. The new Headmaster tore it down and ended Billilngs forever. This book is a teen suspense series and it has some romance in it too, because Reed finally gets back together with her ex boyfriend Josh Hollis!

Billings as we knew it is gone but the spirit of billings lives on through the Billings Literary Society. Reed is a true Billings girl when she decides to go against the school's new policy of not having or starting new social groups, and secret societies, when her and her friend's beloved house is knocked down because of how scandal- rocked was she goes to all length to just keep her sisters together, even though she to betray some, to keep with the BLS original structure of eleven member. Neol...more
Finally! We're back at Easton and things are back to normal -- or what passes for normal in this series, which is fine by me. This was the best entry in this series in a while, and not just because of the school setting. Reed finally mans up, rendering her -- were it not for some tedious mooning over uninteresting boys -- an almost likable character! It's a day I thought wouldn't come, but it totally works and makes sense: She finally realizes she's been through a lot, and channels that inner st...more

REALLY?
1. Reed needs to get a grip. She completely forgets she's in school and has actual schoolwork to do.
2. Kisses seem to wipe Reed's memory pretty easily.
3. It seems like anyone who doesn't agree with Reed, or whom Reed isn't following around like a lapdog, is suddenly a psychotic person.
4. Reed needs to get therapy.
5. The end of the book was a pretty cheap ploy to have the series continue.
I really don't see why Reed needs to be a clique ALL THE TIME. I'm going to read the next two books...more
