This book was about a parade of brightly colored elephants. It was the first book about Elmer that I had read, so I was a little confused about what was happening. I didn't know what the lion meant by the word "chaps" until I read the book the third time and understood that he meant "friends." The illustrations were fun and bright. I would use this book for a storytime for 4-7-year-olds, and I would accompany it with a craft activity in which children made elephant masks so that they could be pa...more
