I get just as much a kick out of reading other reviews of this book as I did reading it. Most people don’t believe Dustin Diamond’s exploits, foul mouth, big dong, strong dislike for his fellow SBTB cast mates, copious use of the word “douchebag”, the fact that he picked up chicks at Disneyland, or the fact that he banged 2,000 women. I have no problem believing any of this. I find Dustin obnoxious, yes, but I also find him refreshingly real. He is one bitter dude. I can feel it jump off t...more
I didn't really want to read this, as I had heard it was terrible. And not terrible in the "so-bad-it's-good" variety, but just flat out awful. But, Saved By The Bell was a huge part of my life growing up, and I just couldn't resist.
To sum this book up as succinctly as possible: Dustin Diamond is a d!ck. Or excuse me, a "douchebag", which is his favorite word throughout this poorly edited book. (Seriously, the amount of times sentences

I had heard about this book prior to its publishing in 2009 as it raised quite the controversy due to what the author, Dustin Diamond, revealed about his days as a cast member on Saved By the Bell. I found the parts about the overal setup, breakdown and behind the scenes information interesting, as I was not familiar with how a live-action television show is produced. While reading this, I came to the following conclusion: With all the information presented, it easily could have been divided up ...more

This book was so ridiculous and a little confusing. This guy spends the entire time whining about what "douchebags" his cast members are. (a phrase he seems to coin all throughout the book, and I thought people stopped saying douchebag around the time the original saved by the bell went off the air) Then does the exact same thing that he claims made them such jerks in the first place but tries to play it off like if he does it it's okay. They were all drinking and doing drugs and havin...more
Many in my generation better know Dustin Diamond as Samuel "Screech" Powers from the popular Saturday morning comedy Saved by the Bell. He is looking back on his experiences with the show and the other stars in this tell-all book. Sadly, he has less than fond memories of most of his co-stars, who include Lark Voorhies, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Elizabeth Berkley, and Tiffani Amber Thiessen.

I admit it. I was incredibly apprehensive about reading Dustin Diamond's expose about what really went on behind the scenes of Saved By The Bell. I am a huge SBTB fan. I watch the show every morning while I'm getting ready for work. I own the DVDs and I even have a manilla envelope of posters, magazine interviews, and other random cast paraphernalia I saved from my the height of my love in middle school. When I found out that Screech penned a memoir that supposedly dished all the dirt, well, I w...more
While I LOVED (and will always love) Saved by the Bell this book isn't worth the cheap computer paper it is printed on. Yes, there were some juicy bits of awesomeness and gossip about the cast and their exploits. But, in the long run, it really wasn't worth listening to Diamond ramble on for pages about the technical details of shooting a TV show, his dong, and his supposed sexual conquests in order to get to the good bits. Like I (or anyone on the planet) truly wanted to hear trash about the...more
Yes, I read this entire book. I'm giving it 2 stars because there were some bits of juicy info about the cast in there that seemed worthwhile, even though there doesn't seem to be any proof.
I'll break down the book for you, though, to save you some time from reading it. It's full of typos, and it looks like it was printed on computer paper. The pictures inside are all press images that you could find anywhere on the internet. Considering he was on the show for 10 years, you think he'd hav...more

If you, such as myself, are a ridiculous fan of Saved By The Bell, then you will enjoy many aspects of this book. If you are not a Saved By The Bell fan, then you will probably find it annoying.
Diamond gives you a peek behind the curtain of the land of Bell, and though I don't necessarily believe all the stories that he tells, it was still entertaining.
The most annoying aspect of the book is that Diamond continuity works— incredibly hard— to make you realize how "cool" he ...more

My boyfriend bought this as he's a big SBTB fan and I made the mistake of picking it up. It's a bit like car crash TV, you know it's awful but you just can't help watching. This is badly written, poorly edited, terribly typeset and the content is pretty vile as well. It's not funny and it's very vulgar; I also question how much of it is true. I can't quite work out how it got published in this state, it's like no one ever proof read it, or perhaps no one ever read it? I advise you to stay well a...more
hi, check out my review of behind the bell here
I also provided a summary of the main talking points from the book here . I know that guy from 11 points did a pretty extensive blog on the subject too, but I feel like mine has a few extra details in there. Remember, he only had 11 points and there were A LOT of revelations in the book. Whether they're all true or not though, who knows?

This is the life I have chosen for myself.
Shockingly, this actually included some interesting behind the scenes moments and a bit of fun Hollywood how to. I enjoyed parts of the book quite a bit. However, much of it is relatively unpleasant (bragging about sexual conquests and complaining about the rest of the cast [justly or unjustly]). It is also somewhat poorly written and contains a number of typos (including at least one case where the vast majority of a paragraph is repeated word for word).

This book is the worst. It doesn't even qualify as "so bad it's good." Dustin Diamond wants you to know that he got laid a lot at Disneyland, has a big dick (he manages to mention this a LOT) and that he's so super awesome and not petty at all. But he's not super awesome, and comes across as very, very petty. As for his dick size, it's not something I can personally verify. You are on your own there.

This book is strangely interesting. While Dustin goes on way too much about all of his supposed conquests, there is something that kept me reading. Maybe it was disbelief that someone could be so horribly disgusting, or maybe just that same reason people buy tabloid magazines, to hear all the dirt about their favorite celebrities.
Dustin, Dustin, Dustin. Over 2000 women? Somehow I doubt it.
This book was certainly an interesting work of fact and fiction, wherein Dustin Diamond (Screech from Saved by the Bell) thoroughly embarrasses himself while describing life behind the scenes on the show. You know, the who slept with who deal, etc. He throws in enough F-bombs in there to make your mother blush, but I think I was more offended by all of the typos in the book.

The only dirt to be found in 300 pages: 1. Zack did 'roids during "The College Years (or as Screech aptly puts it, 'Semester')." 2. Max from The Max had a gay affair with Neil "Doogie Howser M.D." Patrick Harris. Why would you only give literally one sentence to possibly interesting stories like playing chess with Will Smith or getting Christmas presents from Johnny Cash, and then devote entire chapters to trying to pick up chicks at Disneyland or smoking weed for the first...more
Hilarious stuff. Worth reading for its comical value. Dustin Diamond is a hypocritical tool as this book clearly demonstrates. His lack of writing style, his repetition (look for a paragraph repeated verbatim) make this book worthy of reading just for how bad it really is.
i realize that i'm a ridiculous human being. i also realize that probably not all of the allegations in this book are true. but for a pop culture junkie like myself, it was fun to take a peek behind the curtain of "saved by the bell".
Great Book. Dustin lets us in on his life during his role on the hit TV show "Saved By The Bell" and life behind the scenes and the often betrayal of his co-stars,and life a teenager he tells it raw and with a good sense of humor, 5 stars.
Dustin says he has a big penis. Not much else, this is obviously a poorly written (and very poorly edited!) book about his perspective of everyone else on the show. But I gotta admit, for a quick guilty pleasure read, I was entertained enough.
It gave a really good insight into the behind the scenes goings on in one of America's most popular TV shows. Thought it does paint Diamond in quite a bitter light, I enjoyed it nevertheless!
One of the worst books I've ever read in my life. I don't believe one word that this douchebag says other than "I was on Saved by the Bell". Complete asshole loser.
DO NOT READ THIS BOOK.
I love Saved by the Bell, and I have a pretty high tolerance for terrible books. This is NOT worth it! It's filled with typos, gross and offensive references to Dustin Diamond's male parts and sex, and mostly a lot of Dustin Diamond coming across as someone who felt inferior for most of his life and is trying to make himself feel like a big man.

It was terrible, but as a SBTB fan of course I had to read it!
Pretty much what I expected...very easy, light reading...a little disturbing w/ a little too much of the Dustin Diamond Sexcapades (yawn!).
I knew this book would be bad. It was worse than expected.
I feel dirty all over.
This was very poorly written. Author is cocky and you can sense his jealousy and embellishment.

Pardon my language, but what a godawful book. Usually, I can find something redeemable about any book I read, but this book is lower than low. You fans of "Saved by the Bell" can give this one a pass. A nasty jumble of jealousy, filthy sexual encounters (he says) and a general low regard for human beings. Yuck!
