WHEN MIKE KISSED EMMA is a fast-paced, young romance that questions the idea of love and friendship in high school. Marciniak has a great writing style that gets right to the heart of the story.
The character of Emma was a joy to read. She is fun and dedicated to her life as a high school actress and girlfriend to Trevor. She is strong, independent, and a force to be reckoned with among her peers. She is part of a small clique of students that are looked upon by others as the 'popula More...

When Mike Kissed Emma revolves round rehearsals for The Sound of Music, and Christine Marciniak captures the tedium of rehearsing a play, perfectly. There is a lot of standing about waiting. Which is great for gossiping or sneaking off to dark corners! She also uses lines from the play as chapter headings, which I loved. As well as identifying and contrasting her characters with characters from the play.

This sounded like a very cute story when I first got the chance to read about it on Around The World Tours. I am glad I got the chance to read it, I am not sure why maybe because it was the setting behind the story. But I felt as if I was reading a script for a play or movie, the way the book was set up which was pretty cool.
This is one of those stories that you learn the full depth of the characters as you read more of the book which is in my opinion the way things are suppose More...

This was a fun romantic read to help get you in the mood for Valentine’s. It’s a cute story about Emma and Mike falling in love while working on a school play together. I was excited that they were doing a production of the Sound of Music. Whenever my brothers weren’t forcing me to watch Star Wars or Indiana Jones I would watch The Sound of Music. I LOVE it. So, I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. It has a predictable storyline, but it was still enjoyable to read. I guess the message is th

After reading The Stillburrow Crush by Linda Kage, I was excited to read more books published by The Wild Rose Press. Lucky for me, When Mike Kissed Emma (also published by The Wild Rose Press) was exactly what I was excepting. What was that per say? Well a cutesy type romantic comedy that was easy to get lost in, and yet another great book published by this fab publisher!

An enjoyable read for teens, WHEN MIKE KISSED EMMA follows a group of friends as they settle into their roles for the high-school play. Author Christine Marciniak captures the humor and drama of everyday life in high school. The characters and dialogue were very well done. Cleverly, the author uses lyrics from the school musical as chapter headings. This novel is a welcome break from the "clique" and "occult" novels that dominate teen lit. Appropriate for middle-school studen

When I signed up for this, I'd never heard of it but thought it sounded interesting. I got it in the mail, and from the look of the cover, I didn't think I would like this. But I should know better by now than to judge a book by its cover because I was nicely surprised and really enjoyed it.
The story is short and sweet, with all the usual twists and turns of any high school based novel with a predictable, but fun ending. I really enjoyed the characters and although I disliked some of More...

Uh-oh, I think I'm falling behind with my "Sound of Music" books. Eager to see Wendy's (and others') review.

A sweet, but very slight book. I gave it to my fourteen year old to read...I think she'll like it.

Ok, first of all I love the Sound of Music so I loved that, that was the play that they did.
Emma was an interesting character, she was very typical teenage girl in a novel, but she transformed throughout the novel into a girl that knew what was right and was not afraid to fight for it. I happened to love Mike! I thought Logan was a jerk and did not deserve to be with anyone much less Emma.
While this was a really cute story I wish there had been a little more plot, beyond More...

A very sweet romance novel, good for kids even as young as ten years old. Will especially appeal to kids who are into acting and musicals, as much of the novel revolves around a high school production of "The Sound of Music."

Sound of Music alert, Susann. School play alert, Constance. "Sounds good" alert, everyone.
