This is the third in the series of four. She has several trilogies and tetralogies (maybe a few singles also). This is the second of her series I've read. I've enjoyed all of them so far and expect to continue through each of them.
In a previous review, I scoffed at finding these books about serial killers and murderers in the romance section of one of the libraries I use (they're in fiction, as they should be, in the other two libraries). As the symmetry of the universe would have it, ...more

This is the last book in the "triology". The first two were "Dead Wrong" & "Dead Certain". EXCELLENT!!

If you love lots of action packed drama and a hint of romance, you'll love Mariah Stewart's Dead Even. It has a great plot twist of two intersecting cases, one with a cult, and the other deals with a "Strangers in the Train" like theme. Good plot twists and turns, when it deals with two federal agents, both on again and off again lovers, Miranda Cahill and Will Fletcher, who come to realize their feelings with each other. This is a good one to really enjoy on a cold winter night.
Another easy read by Mariah Stewart. It had two plots going at the same time, although they managed to merge, in a way, at the end. A "game" plotted by three prisoners where one would kill the hit list of another kept the FBI going, and also stayed one step ahead of them. A couple of agents did not make it. Very intriguing. Not a whodunit, but more of a howtocatchem.
I didn't buy into the HEA at the end. Maybe there was more in the previous 2 books, but their was no "show" in this one.
The mystery would have been better if it was a surprise but we knew the end, and the plot was predictable, so there was little suspense.

2 story lines, one involving kidnapping by a father, and the other a 3-way murder conspiracy to murder each other's enemies. Very suspenseful and well written. Just a smidgen of romance as the cherry on top. I really liked.

Well written but not real interesting. There was little to no suspense in a book that was supposed to be just that. Not a bad way to wrap up the trilogy though.
Not a bad read but it's the third in the series so, to truly understand alot of what happens and is referenced to, you need to read the other two first.
This was better than the first 2 in the series. A real page turner. Loved the ending. Will start book 4 today.
Didn't love the trilogy. Read the last book just to see how it all turned out.
REALLY good series! One more to go.
Great book!
Ok read. Not as intense as the first 2.
I've really enjoyed the Mariah Stewart series so far. In this third book, I thought I had figured out what the fourth book was going to be about, but after finishing the book, I have no idea! I'm starting that one today though, so I'll find out a little later! I didn't realize though that the Dead series were supposed to come before the Truth series, and I read the Truth series first. Oh well!! Great book!!!
Once again, I would not call this a romantic suspense novel - just suspense. Very well written and enjoyable, just no romance. In fact, I think this one had less romance than the first two books in this series. So reader beware, if you are looking for a book with romance, this is not for you. If you want to enjoy a well wrtten, myster/suspense novel - enjoy!
made an "okay" car book!
Really enjoy this series.
This was a good book. It was the second in this series, so it continued with the story. The language wouldn't be missed, but what can you do? The plot line is good and the ending is even better. I recommend for anyone who is in a mood for a good mystery series.
I really enjoy all of Mariah Stwearts series books. I enjoy the characters the story lines and the continuation of the theme. Highly recommend reading them in order.
Third of four in the series. All have been good so far - not one has been a disappointment. Definitely a good read.
I'm a sucker for mysteries!
Good suspense novel!
Good "Dead" series
