The True Love Quilting Club by Lori Wilde
Her mother had abandoned her and her father, Rex next he was packing up their things as they were moving again and she wanted to know why he couldn't hug her. He told her and it sunk it causing her to run out of the house, running as fast as she could.
She only wanted to be an actress and she ran into Sam. He took her to the theater where they watched the stars.
Trixie had gone to NY and the after a few years the only thing she had left was a piece of jewel...more

While I admit that there were certain parts of this book that could've been fleshed out more (view spoiler)[ Emma/Trixie's desire to change her name, the actual dating of Sam and Emma (hide spoiler)], this was still a book that made me sigh with happiness when I closed the book.

Emma has had a crappy life, abandoned by a selfish unfit mother to a man who can't love her as a father should, she has one true friend - Sam Cheek. The kind of boy that all of us would love to have had had as a frien...more

I loved this second visit to Twilight Texas. Emma lived in Twilight for one year before her stepfather moved them away. She had a terrific friendship and beginnings of a romance with Sam. When she was 18 she moved to New York to become an actress. After 12 years and a major scandal she found herself back in Twilight. There she reconnected with Sam. I loved the characters in this book. Emma was fixated on her career and what she had to do to make it big. She knew she wouldn't be staying in Twilig...more

Picked up from some random place, maybe in Hawaii or maybe in Sydney. It took me till Alice Springs to read it.

This is the story of Emma Parks (née Trixie Lynn Parks) and Sam Cheek. They met when they were both fourteen, exchanged one kiss, and then she moved away. Sixteen years later, she ends up in Twilight, Texas again. Naturally, there are sparks. And of course Emma and Sam fall in love again. Who wouldn't?

There are a few things I liked about this book:
- Charlie and Patches: Border collies a...more

The True Love Quilting Club is book 2 in the Twilight, Texas series by Lori Wilde. I thought that this book was okay, didn't have as good of a storyline as other books in this series. The plot wasn't very exciting and was pretty predictable. The second half of the book was pretty steamy and seemed like page fillers as the author didn't have anything else for the characters to do/say. I really liked the quotes at the beginning of each chapter.

I like the writing style, its witty like Jenny Cruise...more

The True Love Quilting Club, much like its predecessor, The Sweethearts' Knitting Club in the Twilight, Texas series was a heartfelt, great read. The small, cozy, and homey town of Twilight is once again the enabler of second chances for first and true loves.

We meet Emma (formerly Trixie Lynn) Parks and Sam Cheek. Emma is the small town girl with big city dreams and accompanying failures when it comes to realizing those dreams. Sam is the steady reassuring man, weary with his comfortable life w...more

Book #2 in the Twilight Texas Series, and another cute story. I'm finding these books very entertaining and heart warming. I love how we still get to see the old characters throughout the series, to see how they're all still doing. It's great that they'll all get to cross over in each book. Almost like you never lose touch with an old friend. And let's face it, the ladies that are part of these clubs, make the stories so much funnier and cozier.

Emma...Aka...Trixie Lynn, had a pretty rough life....more

This was cute--Trixie Lynn Parks and Sam Cheek were best friends at 14, and shared a surprising first kiss before Trixie's father whisked her off to yet another town. Years later, Trixie, now Emma, is in NYC struggling to find her big break as an actress. A special opportunity brings her back to Twilight, where Sam's now a widowed dad.

It does seem that many of Ms. Wilde's main characters seem to have completely horrible childhoods, I suppose all the better to reflect their remarkableness. On the...more

A very sweet, heartwarming love story. Two people who loved each other as kids have now found themselves together again as adults. Their lives are not quite what they thought they would be, but they are still trying to make do. Can their love keep them together, or will life events separate them once more.

This was a very quick read, and although I liked both of the characters, it didn't have anything that made me sit up and say "wow". Unlike Wilde's other book The SweetHeart Knitting club which...more

It was a rather sweet romance. It delt with a 14 year old girl, whose mother had left her to go after stardom, leaving her mother's husband, who was not the girls father. He was not able to give her the love she needed. Trixie Lynn had fallen in love with Sam, when they were both 14 years old. She only lived in Twilight Texas for one year, but it was the only place she ever felt she belonged. The story tells how the two were brought back together, by Sam's match making aunt, and other women of t...more

When Trixie Lynn Parks, now known as Emma Parks, returns to Twilight, Texas, after being away in New York for twelve years, she finds that things haven't changed much and that this small little town somehow feels like "home" to her. However, she still has dreams of making it big in her acting career, so feels that she can't stay in Twilight, in spite of the attraction between her and her first big love (when they were both 14). This was a fun love story. I could have used a few less (or at least...more

Trixie Lynn Parks had one good year in High School when she lived in Twilight, Texas, then she and her father moved again and she even found out why he didn't love her. She left home at 18 and went to New York to become an actress following the path of many young women, roles in off-Broadway and with waitress jobs to pay the bills. Then she got a call to return to Twilight to star in the town play and she found her high-school crush and what she was missing. Can she leave it all behind to go on...more

It was better than the first one, I think. I actually really liked Emma, she wasn't your typical whining heroine, even though she had her moments =) I liked the fact that she knew what she wanted, even though everything doesn't always go the way you planned...
Sam was... almost perfect; devoted father, great vet, loyal, loving... and is in great shape ;) What more could you want???
But like I said, this was better than the first so I guess I'll have to read part three next =)

See ya!!!

OK book but I had a really hard time staying interested for some reason. I think I was expecting the quilting club to have more of a main role in the book and it really didn't. The club members showed up frequently throughout the book but most of the focus was on Emma's acting career and Sam's first wife and I felt annoyed with him for marrying someone just to take care of her son for her while she went to war. Nice thing to do but it seemed over the top for someone who is more of a friend than...more

The True Love Quilting Club was only my 4th book by Lori Wilde and so far my favorite.
What I really liked was that the hero, Sam was “normal”. He wasn’t super Alpha, or ex-CIA, FBI etc… He was just an everyday guy head over heals in love with his childhood sweetheart, Trixie Lynn. I really loved both Sam and Trixie Lynn from the start and the secondary characters were just as interesting. This was a sweet romance with some surprisingly hot love scenes. This one is a keeper for me!

The old saying, "You can't judge a book by its cover" certainly applies here. I thought it would be a wholesome book about love and friendship centered around a group of women who love to quilt. The story line was predictable (as far as girl falls in love with guy and they live happily ever after) and it was just too sexually graffic for my taste. I think it (the cover) would have been more in line with the book's content if it had Fabio on it.

I highly recommend reading this, Lori has captured the characters very well , I enjoyed this series very much,
It's a terrific story about a small town in Texas with romance all around I loved the characters and settings.
I am so looking forward to more books from Lori Wilde.
Amy
I particularly enjoyed the parts about the quilting club and the quilt-related quotes at the beginning of each chapter. Otherwise a standard romance novel plotline... boy and girl meet, they are separated, they meet again as adults, complications ensue...

While waiting for the Cookie Club book, I picked up this copy from the local library. This is just a good book that follows a simple story line and is pure romance. Can't wait for the Cookiw Club book to arrive.

I like books about quilting and when you throw in a good yarn at the same time, it's really run. A good follow-up to the first book in the series.
Sherri
Cute story and believable. Right mix of description, diaglogue, & action. So yes, I would recommend it and I plan to read more by this author.

I like this series...good as a library read....quick and easy. Perfect for taking to the beach.

A delightful read about small town values, closeness and the fact that one does not have to be related by blood to be family.
Donna
Great love story. I liked this one bvetter than the first book in this series!!
Marcia Harbour
I loved this book. It is a true love story. I love all the Twilight Texas books.

3.5. Pretty good story - more sappy than I'd choose for myself, but it hooked me. Pretty solid writing.
Karenzielinski
Romantic, patriotic fluff. Perfect for a lazy day.
Joan Horkey
Good but pretty predictable.

Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.

She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later dis...more
