Linnéa
I must admit, when I first saw this book in the fashion shelves at Indigo with my good friend Julia, I did not want to buy it. I was intrigued, but I said to myself "Well, Linnéa, it is Teen Vogue. Don't expect too much." So I decided to borrow it from the library instead, and boy, am I glad I gave this book a chance. It is so comprehensive, smart, clear and fun, that I will go far enough to say that A) I am absolutely going to buy this book and B) Anyone who loves fashion and/or who has ever co ...more

I get every Teen Vogue issue, and I'm obsessed. I love it all and it's so fun and inspiring to read! This book is a guide to the industry of fashion.

This book has it all for young people who love fashion, and are interested in doing it for a living. Designing, Editing/Writing, Photography, Modelling, Beauty and Hair styling and more. They have interviews with the biggest fashion names. Marc Jacobs, Anna Wintour, Mario Testino, KARL LAGERFELD, and Tory Burch. And

Like many teen girls, the idea of a career in the fashion industry really intrigued me, so when a friend bought this book I was eager to borrow it. A part of me thought it would be a bit of a candyfloss book, some pretty pictures and all, but not much solid useful career advice.
Boy, was I wrong!
My main focus was the editors pages, which were brilliant. They showed that their career paths weren't easy. You had to do some boring schlepping around, and at high levels the workload was insane. It's

This book was the only thing I wanted for my thirteenth birthday, and with all my wishes to the fashion gods I got it! It became my bible, I carried it everywhere with me, always finding something new to drool over. As a hope-to-be fashion designer and stylist this book gave me everything I needed to know. Where ever your personal interest in the fashion industry may lie this book has everything you need to know about it. From editing to photography this book has personal interviews with people ...more

Oh my goodness, I love this book so much!! It features interviews from some of the top professionals of the fashion industry, including designers, magazine editors, hairstylists, and make-up artists. For anyone interested in fashion, their stories about past experiences in the industry and how they got their respective starts are both fascinating and informative. Much of their advice on how to get a job in fashion can be applied to any career path. The handbook is designed graphically just like ...more

I absolutely adore this book! It's a must-read for anyone aspiring to have a career in the fashion industry. However, if you do not want to be in the fashion industry this book will be very boring. You would only find the images the most fascinating part. Whereas, a fashion lover would drink up the wonderful little life segments of famed designers, editors, and models! I loved how the book was stylized like a magazine. The worst part of the book was that it couldn't be bigger and feature more na ...more

This book is perfect for anyone looking into the fashion industry. Its full of information. The bright colors, pictures, and layout make it fun to read. The font used is fairly small so although there are pictures, they did not skimp on text. This book would be a great gift for anyone interested in fashion.

A really great comprehensive guide of how you can get a start in the fashion industry. They give great advice straight from the source which is great. And as a reader of Teen vogue it's great to see them putting stuff like this out :)
Susan
This book gets a four on entertainment value, but maybe only a three on actual real-world usefulness on advising--outside a lot of very general tips-- how a fashion-savvy teen can crack into the business of high fashion. What it does do very well is highlight all the people who serve as the different pieces of the puzzle behind photo shoots and shows, from models to photographers, fashion editors and interns, and makeup artists. For any teen who enjoys fashion this book is a lot of fun, with gre ...more

This was so helpful, I knew I wanted to do something with TeenVogue but I wasn't exactly sure, this opened my eyes up to more options than I thought there really was just for a magazine. Now that I know what I really want to aim for, I can start working on it now, and hope to get noticed, if not then I will try to be an intern and keep going until I realize I have failed, then I know this isn't the job for me and I will move on.
Sydney Rae
Such a great, informative book. Seriously, I don't think they could have done a better job. I loved all the pictures in this book as well. I even used one of the runway pictures as inspiration for a halloween costume that I made this year. If you are thinking about getting into the fashion industry wether it's making clothes, being a photographer, or being an editor at a magazine then I definitely recommend you read this book.
Alisa
This book was definitely handy for me. I have always wanted to work in the fashion business, but I still don't know what I should study and stuff like that. Once I got this book, I was so relieved. It shows interviews and tips from the industry masters - from editors, photographers, designers, make-up artists and stylists.
You should definitely get this book if you're interested in getting a job in the fashion industry.
Rachel
Although insights from the designers were fascinating, the advice given both by them and the book itself were often rather vague. Also I found that certain points were repeated several times as if to fill up space, which wasn't really necessary. I think it would have been improved with points more sharply honed, such as exactly what constitutes as a good, strong portfolio, and what one can expect as an intern.
Arid
I am so into fashion and want to be in the industry when I am older! This book was os helpful because it gave tips for breaking into the industry and advice from famous designers. They had interviews from people like Marc Jacobs, Stella Mcartney, Phillip Lim, and more! It was amazing to learn their stories and advice for young fashionistas who want to pursue their career in fashion! It was very inspiring!

I found this book absolutely wonderful. This book is above and beyond what you would expected from Teen Vogue. thus book is a must-have with useful information, uplifting words, and even the bare truth. I really enjoyed this book. I was fortunate enough to obtain a copy from my local library and I must say that some books are meant to be read. This book is a wonderful book for young women. I enjoyed it

This book was great. I purchased this book when I was going through a phase. I was determined to become a fashion designer. This book definitely gave me a great insight into the world of fashion and the various jobs the industry has. Now that I've passed that phase and pursuing career related to my graphic communication degree, I can see my self referencing the "interns guide" section...

As of now, this is the best fashion career help book I've ever read. I didn't think there would be so much helpful information and really really useful advice. Perfect for ANYONE who are interested in fashion and a career in fashion, even if you don't want to work in magazines it's still really great to read as you learn so much from the other roles too! LOVE IT.
Mackenzie DeClark
This book was really really helpful. I love that towards the end, they show you colleges that are related to the Fashion Careers and give you info.
This book was really informative. I learned so much about the different careers related to Fashion. Really good book.

I didn't buy this book because I want to work in the fashion industry. I'm just interested in it.
The book is so colorful and fun to read. I enjoy the interviews most. Mostly I just open it and I can't put it down because there's always another thing I have to look at.
Heather
Amazing! Anyone who wants a career in fashion should read this book! Covers everything from interning, editing, makeup, styling, and photography. Made me want to go back in time and start over with a career in fashion.
