Genesis (Enslaved #1)
by
Kaitlyn O'Connor (Goodreads Author)
Bri's uncertain of whether she finds it more unnerving or thrilling that Kole, a warrior well over six feet in height and built like the hulk, watches her with hungry, covetous eyes, until the slavers who captured her toss her into his habitat with him for breeding. Then she knows it's both, but it's even more unsettling to find herself the object of desire of two six and ...more

I was in the mood for pulp fiction romance b-movie style. This looked like exactly what I needed, some Hulksmash romance. It started out perfect with the heroine kidnapped from her car and kept as a slave by strange spiderlike aliens. Then it turned out they stole the human women to breed with the Hirachi - Hulklike men, although without the temper - and I was rubbing my hands together with glee.
However, turned out the heroine was actually quite smart, not the brainy kind of smart, b...more

Kaitlyn O'Connor is one of my favorite authors. (thanks Julie...like I needed ANOTHER one!) Honestly, I am not a HUGE fan of Sci-Fi books in general. Y'all know that I am a contemporary/paranormal fan, but I have to admit, Kaitlyn's books are my dirty little secret. Why do I like them so much? Because in my opinion, her plot and the world she creates are very thought out. I can literally see the new surroundings she puts her characters in. I can see their fear and feel their happiness. Her ...more
Bri finds herself kidnapped by aliens. When she wakes up she finds out that she is not the only human female that has been abducted. After she ventures outside her prison she encounters alien males that are wearing the same slave collars as she and the other female prisoners. She soon comes to realize that the alien males have also been abducted from their planet and that the human females were brought in as breeders. Since she has no choice she accepts Kole and Dansk as lovers. She starts t...more
I'm going to get this down while it's still fresh in my head. Because I honestly don't know if I'll remember much of it in a day or two.
So. Earth girl is kidnapped off the road, in her car, in the middle of night in the middle of nowhere by aliens called Sheloni. She wakes up in a "hotel" room where nothing is really quite right. After a few days, she's forced outside to discover she's been put in a habitat with another human woman and a bunch of alien guys called Hirachi. ...more

I read the second of this series first. The heroine in this book was very strong and I really liked her. Unlike in the other book, the heroine here tries to find out about the aliens. Instead of assuming they think like humans, she askes questions. The sci fi element of the story is very strong. The romance, not so much. It was almost not there. The book should have been twice as long. Just when they threw off the yolk of the alien oppressors and it was time to deal with the relationship ...more
I'm not really familiar with the fantasy genre but because of Daisiemae's review, I thought I'd give it a try. I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. There were certain aspects of the story I wasn't really into but the plot itself held my attention.
I loved Kaitlyn O'Connor's The Portal, so I looked to see if she had any books at the library. Nope. Then looked for cheap paperbacks, this is the first that came. The guy on the front is staring at the girl's boobs a little manically. Had to hide the book cover from the family.

I wanted to say something nice about this book. I really hoped it would be great. I was wrong. IT was wrong. Geez. The other wordly kidnapping simply didn't work. I mean...what part of a woman on her period and not having any sanitary supplies is sexy? I got to this point half way through the book and simply could not finish it. The main female character decided since she didn't have any supplies of the menstrual nature that they other females on the alien caged planet would accept this as norma...more
A true delight. This story had it all steamy sex scenes, drama, humor and surprisingly, romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved the descriptions although Bri's internal rambling ran a little too long at times. I just loved Dansk and Kole. Cory was just adorable and just like a real baby.
The other women annoyed me though. They seemed really ungrateful and selfish. I'm kind of glad they don't get to return home. One thing I'm curious about though. I wonder why jasumi is so valuable...more

This was my first story by Kaitlyn O'Connor, but it wasn't my last. Loved the characters and the plot! Loved that we got a view into their family life. I love alpha male stories and Kole is picture perfect. Loved the interaction between them and the author's attention to detail - the struggle to overcome a language barrier when most other stories tend to have English naturally encoded into their lives. Definitely want to read more from this author & more in this series!

I had to jump to the end on this one. Bri was making me absolutely crazy. The story was living mostly in Bri's head at the point I really quit reading and she was swinging from one extreme to another constantly. Just all kinds of weird and irrational thoughts. At least, they were to me. Maybe I'll go back and read this from front to back in the future, but right now, there's a good chance my Nook will end up smashed against the wall.
I find Kaitlyn O'Connor's work a lot of fun. She has an incredible imagination and her world building is excellent.
Yet I hesitated to read this series. Sexual slavery doesn't sit well with me. Fortunately, these books aren't about a sexual slave who falls in love with her masters, but something more touching.

I am really liking it so far. It is right up my alley as far as paranormal romance goes, as the heroine and the plot are interesting and rather believable. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.
Good story - likable characters - enjoying series. Recommend.

I did not like this book! I don't want to read about forced abortions in my romantica!
Lusty fun. If you like to read erotic books then this one is pretty good.
I love this series. You'll fall in love with the Hirachi race. :)
liked the cyberevolution stuff better.
I don't know what to say about this book. I love Kaitlyn O'Connor and love her writing style. This book held my attention and kept me reading til the end. I liked it a lot, but, as far as romance goes, it fell pretty flat. I really liked the female character, but the males didn't really have much personality. And the finale was a bit rushed and not as satisfying as I'd like. But of course I will be reading the rest of the series! So maybe some of my questions will be answered in the next book.
I really liked it. It was a great story. The sex was hot too.
Darn! Kaitlyn O'Conner's books are always a hit of miss for me. This one definitely didn't work for me. Maybe I'll just stick with her Cyborg series.

My family roots go back to the Highlands and to England, but I always say I'm American by birth, ‘southern by the grace of God’. When I'm not writing, I'm reading. My favorite genres are science fiction, suspense and anything in the romance genre. I especially love the works from my publisher (one of the many reasons why I love them!), and find myself quite often delving into the world of ebooks a...more
