The book is written simply with out any excessive (or not) word play. Descriptions are minimal and dialoge is lacking. It's unfortunate that Stan Nicholls has taken a fantastic concept - Orc culture, behavior, ideas - and blugened it to death with subpar writing, canned characters, and just over all poor exicution.

Now a third book looms on the horizon and since this book leaves you in the middle of a mission I can't turn away with out knowing the full story. I would advise others to stay well cl...more

This book started off slow but then after a while it was better. The auther of this book wrote this book perfectly so you can see it all in your mind. This book would be good for the people that like adventure and older time peroids. This book is very good and their is no other book like it.

OK, but nothing special. I couldn't find the energy to start the third book in this trilogy as there was so little progression in this. the plot is almost a copy of the first, but with a different race.

personally I'd suggest sticking with the first trilogy and then calling it a day.

The best of the Orcs series so far because it took the story to a new level. With the gateway corps, Jannesta, and the Wolverines all now in play for multidimensional craziness!

The Orcs saga continues to provide simple, exciting action fantasy. It's by no means great literature, but who cares? It's fun!
Jason
It is better than the last book, and it has some exciting moments. It is a quick and easy read for any that want just that.
Batsap
Nothing awe-inspiring, but it was a quick, fun read.
Craig
Very good but not great
