Seminus half-breed demon Lore has been forced to act as an assassin for a powerful, malevolent master, but his latest assignment will be his toughest yet and bring him much too close to home, when he’s tasked with killing a human friend of his newly found demon brothers, who also happens to be a Sentinel guarded by earthbound angel Idess.

Idess is determined to protect her human charge so she can finally earn her wings and ascend to Heaven, and she’s not about to let assassin Lore thwart her mission, even if it means chaining him to her bed and using seduction as a weapon. But when duty and fighting turns to explosive attraction and wicked desire, can an innocent angel and a bad boy demon find common ground and work together, even as passion ignites between them?

Whew boy, did I looove Lore and want some more! He’s a dark, cynical, guilt-ridden, deeply tortured hero who’s lived a life of agonizing pain and brutal violence and been denied intimate human contact due to his gift and curse of causing death by touch, but underneath all that lurks a heart of gold, tarnished though it may be. It just takes a beautiful, sweet, kick-ass Xena-esque warrior angel to unveil his protective, romantic, loyal, and caring nature.

I love all the demon brothers: level-headed and intensely sexy doctor Eidolon, protector with a bondage fetish Shade, and my favorite snarky demon vampire and former playboy Wraith, but I think leather wearing bad boy assassin with a death touch and a soft side Lore just might be my favorite demon hottie of the pack now. Yowza...he’s just so lusciously yummy! Lore and Idess made such a sexy couple and their love scenes were steamy, yet full of vulnerability, emotion, and tenderness.

Ecstasy Unveiled is a tantalizing blend of scorching sensuality, dark, sarcastic humor, wicked hot demons, thrilling action, horrific villains, and captivating romance with a H/H that you’ll fall in love with. Ione is a master of paranormal romance and her spellbinding, imaginative world of the Demonica continues to amaze me with its refreshing creativity, sexy, intriguing, unique characters, dark wit, raw emotion, and powerful eroticism. I just wish I didn’t have to wait so long for Sin Undone to come out! Big 5 stars!

What can I say, what can I say. I love this series, I love this book, and would be willing to make some questionable deal with the devil for a little bit of Lore. I love me some Sem boys, and this book was all kinds of explosive. I don’t know what it says about a person when you are willing to go head to head, with four brothers. I would take them all on, they are so delicious, soooo “mmmm, mmmmm good”.

I don’t want to spend too much time explaining what this series is all about, but here is the short version. Sexy brothers, a hospital, and some really evil things. This is all about demons my friends, seminus demons, all walking talking sex. We get Lore’s HEA in this one, another brother introduced in the mix in book three. Lore has got some baggage, he is an assassin and has just been ordered to kill someone, and if he does it will forever put a wedge between him and his brothers.

In comes angel in waiting Idess, really…. I don’t know if I like this woman for Lore. He is so super awesome and she is sort of mediocre as a heroine. I thought someone with a little more personality would have been perfect for him. Idess is far from a simpering heroine, but I wasn’t really feeling her. Her family history is a bit interesting, and the bad guy and her go way back. I totally never saw it coming, what an asshole.

UGH is a big deal in this book, but lets be real “General Hospital” is a big deal all over, and nope not the soap opera. The hospital run by the sexiest brothers around is falling apart, and it looks like it could be the end of the bros. I am not gonna pretend that the demon I want to get up close and dirty with wasn’t being a complete asshole. Shade, really grinded my gears in this one, he grinded them hard *winks*.

Long story cut short. There is destruction, mayhem, and the sexiest potty mouth demon/human character ever. Lore defines my dirtiness and we would blow minds together. There is twist to the series in this one, good/bad that is left to be seen.

Lore oh Lore, I would give you things. I want to be words in these books, sexy words.

READ THIS SERIES! I KEEP TELLING YOU GUYS IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND.

Why this pic? **shrugs** Uh. There are a lot of chains in this book?

★★★★☆ (This is a review of the audiobook.) I know I’ve heard Paul Boehmer narrate before, I just can’t remember which book. Or maybe it’s that his voice rings a bell from all the movies and T.V. he's been in. I can swear he did the voice of a robotic or artificial intelligence entity, because that keeps tickling the back of my mind.

Do you know how sometimes you don't like a book because you had so high expectation for it that once you get to read it you are not able to enjoy it as much as you would have like to?
Well that was so NOT the case with this book. I had higher expectations for it than for any other book I had in my TBR pile, and let me say that it was a huge 5 stars rating!

Lore is falling for Idess, but anyone he touches dies unless your blood-related to Lore. And Idess has taken a vow to remain a virgin. An angel and a demon falling in love, quite a sight. Like all the rest of the Demonica books thus far we always have some villains cause trouble for our heroes and that happens yet again in this exciting installment in the Demonica Series.

I didn't quite know what to think of Lore. I thought he has a bit of all of the brothers in him. He is quite the bad boy with an attitude like Wraith and Shade and is very smart and intelligent like Eidolon. But he tormented by his demon ability which seems more like a curse. He wants freedom for him and his sister more than anything. Idess wants her wings and doesn't want to fail her mission to protect Kynan.

"What does she look like?" Sin asked.
"Like she'd look good on a mattress."
Sin jammed her fists on her hips. "That tells me nothing, and aren't you mated?"
"I'm also a sex demon. I didn't go blind when I took a mate."

They are both drawn to each other and isn't kind of bad to fall for a demon? It is wicked bad and hot. We get a look into a new characters, Sin. And I want more of this girl. Sin is the sister of Lore and she is just as bad as Lore is. She is tough, bad ass, doesn't take shit from anyone, oh, wait. aren't I describing a Wraith a little too much here? We'll when you read this book, you will love Sin just as much as I do.

This book wasn't a favorite of mine because of all the drama that went down with Lore and his brothers. And I didn't like Lore/Idess as much as the other couples, but Lore/Idess was still enjoyable. I felt like it was more interesting in the side story with finding out about this mysterious sister, Sin. Do you want to know why?

Sin makes quite an entrance in the Demonica world and some unforgettable moments that we get us loving her just as much as her brothers. What do you get to look forward to in Ecstasy Unveiled? hot and sexy forbidden romance, non-stop action, demon humor, and another sexy couple you will love to read about.

Yet another 5-star book for Larissa Ione. With the fourth installment of the Demonica series, I swear the stories just keep getting better. And with each book I find myself wondering ‘how do I get a Seminus demon??’

Lore, our hero and the long lost brother of Eidolon, Shade and Wraith, does a pretty good job holding his own next to his brothers. As a bit of a tortured soul who is short-tempered, lethal and fiercely hot, you can certainly see the family resemblance. I really liked Lore and he was definitely a focal point in the book, but the other Sems, as well as Ky and their mates, actually got some good airtime in this book. Having the other Sems take a fairly prominent role helped create the sense of brotherhood (a little BDB-style) and family, which just gives me the warm fuzzies. Of course when your family is dealing with raging arguments, fist fights, kidnappings, assassinations, pregnancies, plagues and the introduction of another unknown sibling, who wouldn’t want to come together and sing kumbaya.

One thing I have come to love about this series is the strong female characters. Tayla, Gem, Runa and Serena all had their unique perspectives and personalities and could stand up to and next to these alpha males. Idess, our heroine, is no different in that regard. However, she isn’t loud and outspoken, sassy or hot-headed and though she can kick butt like the rest of them, she’s not the type to run in guns blazing. Maybe it is a result of her being 2,000 years old (would love to see the candles on her birthday cake), but she had a less in your face kind of strength. She’d actually think of a plan rather than fly by the seat of her pants. She was happy to let the boys duke it out, tapping her feet impatiently, but she’d eventually break it up so they could get back to business. In a way this might be slightly incongruous with her ‘I’m a powerful, make-weapons-appear-from-thin-air-and-fight angel’, but I think it works with who she truly is at heart and who she becomes in the end. (Yes, you’ll have to read the story to find out – and you really should read this story.)

Now, before you start thinking that there weren’t any women with a little more fire…

Sin, Lore’s sister who we first hear about in Passion Unleashed, is a real firecracker and a shinning star in this book. She also happens to be the heroine in the fifth Demonica book, Sin Undone, due out in September 2010. This girl does not take smack from anyone and as an assassin and all-around “badass” she’s got skills to back up that completely no holds barred mouth of hers. I think her presence and a great lead up to Sin Undone at the end of the book pushed this into the 5-star zone for me.

Overall, great fast-paced story with some good laughs, some jaw dropping surprises and some super steamy, make you get a little hot and bothered sex scenes.

p.s. I’ll never look at a supply closet the same again – You’ll know when you get there.(less)

Hot tale of the most unexpected romance and mating of the sex demon, Lore and the angel waiting to ascend to heaven, Idess. I enjoyed this PNR book more than most PNR I have recently read because the couple truly resisted the temptation for a realistically long time. I find that the romance and build up is often rushed in PNR and I am happy to say that was not the case in this book.

Okay, the forth part of my own movie named ‘Mental orgasm’. This book should be named ‘Shit happens’, because shit was happening all along. I yelled ‘Oh, shit!!’ like every 50 pages. I can’t recall the book with so many shit situations. It was really intense read! I think even my hair went grey.

The trilogy ended with all brothers mated and happily in love. What does one do when one wants to continue the series? Anyone? Yes, I see a raised hand! And the answer is… “One finds lost siblings!” Correct! Finding lost siblings is an ancient tradition, borrowed from Hindu movies. I’m kidding, no one knows the origin of that tradition. So, revenons à nos moutons, two persons were added to the cast: Lore (Loren) aka found sibling #1 and Sin (Sinead) aka found sibling #2. They ~~have a family business~~ are assassins (do you smell ‘Oh, shit’?).

The book begins with Lore took on a job of killing… hmm… someone who shouldn’t be killed, because, firstly, it would trigger off the end of the world, and, secondly, it would be a huge disappointment for all Demonica fans. I guess the second is more important. I felt hostility for the book at that point. It was really hard to read about the hero/antagonist. When I finished the third book Lore was a bad gay. He was putting the moves on Gem. So, when Kynan finally won Gem’s heart, I yelled “Suck it, Lore!”

Yeah, I took my time to love Lore.

The heroine, Idess-who-is-almost-an-angel, was guardian of Lore’s victim. Oh, don’t you worry, she got her shitload of shit situations as well.

It’s funny, but this fourth book was built around the Underground General Hospital. The previous ones touched it, of course (brothers are doctors), but in this one a lion share of action took place at UGH. I know why. It would be really hard to say goodbye to Eidolon, Shade and Wraith, to know that their stories obtained their HEA and ended for good. With UGH situations we could see them, we could live their life. Plus, UGH was a link between brothers, it was some sort of neutral territory.

To complicate matters, Lore’s target has an angel protecting them – Idess, a sexy, sassy female who knows how to kick some ass.

Book 4 in the Demonica series brings us the story of Lore… the newly discovered brother of Eidolon, Shade and Wraith. An enslaved assassin, he is brought screeching into his brother’s lives when his next target hits very close to their hearts. To complicate matters, Lore’s target has an angel protecting them – Idess, a sexy, sassy female who knows how to kick some ass.

I absolutely adore Lore! Tortured, cynical, and seemingly indifferent to all that goes on around him, his supernatural gift is a ‘death touch’ that has kept him forcibly isolated for most of his life. But he has a deeply caring side that we see early on, and which is ramped up hugely when Idess comes along and totally rocks his world. Idess is a great heroine! She’s tough and single-minded, but is also dealing with her own issues from the past. Lore and Idess are both, for their own (very personal) reasons, committed to their tasks. So when they collide… fireworks!

With brilliant fight scenes, wicked banter, and scorching chemistry, Lore and Idess have a sensational relationship that grows from sworn enemies to reluctant allies to friends and eventually lovers. And with the added complication of Lore being a Seminus demon, and needing sex in order to survive, it’s a wild ride!

In addition to the brewing romance, there is a deep look into the disturbing and gory world of demon assassins, two of the most evil of evil bad guys on the prowl, family secrets uncovered, and major trouble brewing for one particular supernatural group. Yep, there’s a lot going on in this book, and I loved watching all of the different threads come together. I didn’t see the big twist coming, and had a massive ‘OMG’ moment, as well as lots of scares and squees as the story shifted all over the place.

The group of key characters in this series continues to grow, but I love that Ione continues to keep the characters that we love from the previous books as a main part of the action. In fact, I think one of the best thing about these books is the dynamic between the characters. Between siblings, couples, friends and enemies, there is fighting, teasing, playfulness and brilliant banter, as well as deep, familial love and respect, gorgeous swoony moments and a whole lot of hotness. It’s all just epic!

The next book is set up very nicely as we get to spend a lot of time with the heroine of book 5, Sin, and the spark of her love story has been lit with a hot moment between her and her love interest (love him!). There is some awesome chemistry there, as well as some pretty massive hurdles for the couple to overcome. I can’t wait to see where the story goes!

If you haven’t read any of these books yet, GET INTO IT! Larissa Ione has created a unique paranormal world filled with brilliant characters, awesome supernatural powers and intriguing politics. These books are dark and dirty, but also hilarious, with lots of romance, sex and action, and a fantastic world that becomes more evolved with each book. I’m absolutely loving it.

Only a day and I almost forgot what happened in this novel. It merges with the fifth novels incidents, especially because Sin, the 5ths novel's heroine is the sister of Lore. And Lore is the male lead of Ecstacy Unveiled.

It's interesting how twisted everything is in the end. Guardian Angel, threads, blackmailing, deals, torture and slavery, assassins, familybonds. Oh yes, family bonds. Most interesting thing.

While I enjoyed the last book (Passion Unleashed), I had trouble getting into the story. But with Lore's story I have been sucked back into the series. It's been a joy to read. Ecstasy Unveiled, made me remember why I fell in love with this series. The fabulous world-building, fast action and the ever important sexy demon brothers. I loved it. This is probably the best book of the series so far, even if Wraith is still my favorite.

There's never a dull moment, there's always something happening and I was literally on the edge all the time. Lore and Idess are a wonderful couple, they never do stupid things and, although sparkles fly at the beginning of their relationship, they are not overly antagonizing.

I haven't read all of the other books in this series, and I was initially worried that I would be lost - but that wasn't the case at all. I could tell that some of the characters were clearly from previous books, but this still worked fine for me as a standalone.

Im vierten Teil geht es um Lore, den neu dazu gewonnen Bruder der Seminus Dämonen Eidolon, Shade und Wraight. Lore ist einem Dämon namens Deth verschrieben, bis er insgesamt 100 Auftragsmorde erledigt hat. Dann ist er frei und könnte sein Leben genießen sobald er auch noch seine Zwillingsschwester Sin aus dessen Fängen geholt hat. Aber genau dieser 100ste Auftrag ist der schwierigste von Allen. Deth hat den Auftrag selbst angenommen und schon früh merkt man, dass alles irgendwie zusammen hängt und der vernichtete Bruder Roag da auch noch irgendwie mit drin hängt. Den seine Seele lebt weiterhin und der ihm aufgebürdete Fluch muss gerecht werden. Rache an Allen! *Idess* ist eine Mementi, ein auf der Erde wandelnder Engel der sich seine Flügel noch verdienen muss. Dieser Verdienst wird ihr aber zum Verhängnis, als Lore auftaucht und Ihr Schutzperson Kynan töten muß. Nicht nur das sie sich von Anfang an zu dem Mörder hingezogen füllt, plötzlich wird Lore selbst zu Idess´ Schützling und das ganze Durcheinander nimmt weiter fahrt auf! Kynan soll von Lore getötet werden, Idess beschützt nun beide und zu allem übel breitet sich noch allgemeines Durcheinander im UGH aus, da alle plötzlich an die Grenzen ihres Gemütszustandes stoßen und nur noch eins wollen, und zwar jedem an die Gurgel. Aber auch das reicht noch nicht aus und es kommt noch eine Seuche unter den Warg´s dazu, die von Sin herbeigerufen wird. Außerdem zweifelt Idess so langsam an ihrer Berufung und kämpft mit dem Keuschheitsgelübde. Als sich dann noch herausstellt, dass der Auftraggeber nicht nur Roag sondern auch der Bruder von Idess, der gefallene Engel Rahial ist beschließt sie zu handeln......

Die Charaktere der Seminus Dämonen sind wie in allen Teilen absolut toll!
Ausserdem kommen immer wieder neue hinzu, die auch der Reihe weg alle symphatisch sind und man verliebt sich regelrecht in sie! Aber jetzt ist genug geschmachtet und das warten geht wieder weiter ....
Wieder einmal eine absolute Leseempfehlung mit der vollen Punktzahl!(less)

Ce tome se situe dans la ligné directe du précédent comme si on n’avait qu’un tome divisé en deux mais avec un point de vue différent. En effet, après avoir assisté à la romance de Wraith, nous nous intéressons cette fois à celle de Lore.

Ecstasy Unveiled is the story of Lore, Eidolon, Shade, and Wraith’s newly found brother, and Idess an angel in training sent to protect him. A common thread in this series is Ione’s ability to create drama and suspense with her never ending relationship tangles. With Tayla and Eidolon, he was a demon and she was an Aegis demon hunter. Shade and Runa were lovers previously and that didn’t end too well plus Shade has a curse on him that will make him fade into nothingness if he falls in love. Wraith and Serena have an issue of Wraith needing to steal Serena’s virginity in order to live however if he succeeds she dies. Ione doesn’t disappoint with Ecstasy Unveiled.

Lore and Idess meet as Lore is trying to kill Kynan, the same Kynan that he brought back to life in Passion Unleashed. When Lore tries to take Kynan’s life Idess, Kynan’s angel Memitim, comes to his rescue. After the scuffle Lore becomes another of Idess’s charges at which point she flashes him to her house and chains him to the bed. This would be the beginning of some really hot sexy time in any other novel however Idess has taken a vow of celibacy. Enter some amazing foreplay however and this romance novel gets incredibly hot. As Lore and Idess try to meet their own ends in killing/saving Kynan they must also fight some pretty intense attraction. It’s only when Idess realizes that her brother Rami is behind all of the chaos that put Lore in Kynan’s path, that she gives up her chastity to save Kynan, Lore and in the process the world.

I absolutely loved Lore and Idess. I will say that it took me a little bit to warm up to Lore simply because I was wary of having a long lost brother show up out of the blue, however I think he becomes one of my favorite characters. He’s a good looking, confident, smart-alec with a heart of gold that he can’t seem to see. I love that he and Idess help each other realize their true potential and help each other break out of their self-destructive molds. He and Idess both feel responsible for the paths and happenings that their siblings went down and both punish themselves endlessly in their need to make things right. I love that both Lore and Idess truly give up so much in order to find their love for each other and to protect those that are most important to them. I also love that it’s Idess that makes the path clear for Lore to get to know the new additions to his family.

I gave Ecstacy Unveiled a five out of five rating because I love how seamlessly Ione takes us from the tangled up mess of a plot that she starts with to smooth clean happy ending. It’s the twists and turns that make these novels so hard to put down and each one just gets twisty-er, but I love that every novel has this nice neat ending that, if you sat down at the beginning again, is completely and totally plausible. I can’t wait to read more of this author.

They are Seminus demons, who are very sexually driven and require a mate upon reaching a certain age in order to retain their sanity. The style has some similarity to books by J.R. Ward, Kresley Cole, and Gena Showalter--dark and violent but with strong undertones of romance and humor.

This particular book centers around long lost brother, Lore, who is half human. He works as an enslaved assassin and has been commanded to kill Kynan, a human who is very close to the rest of the demon family (as established in previous books). The consequences for failure would include the death of his beloved twin sister, Sin. Iness is essentially Kynan's guardian angel, and she's trying to earn her way into heaven by keeping him safe--which of course means stopping Lore at all costs. Things become complicated when Iness and Lore find themselves attracted to one another, to the point where Lore wants her as his mate. All the while Lore's brothers are struggling to hold their hospital together through a variety of disasters, and loyalties are divided between Kynan and Lore.

I loved a lot of the ideas in this book, from the glimpses of hell and the assassin underworld to the mythology and culture of the angels. The use of these and the images they present make the book compelling. I generally liked Lore and Iness as a couple, though I felt their romance lacked build-up of chemistry which couples in the previous books had in spades. The author also does a fairly good job at presenting compelling secondary and returning characters without distracting from the central couple.

On the negative end, the plot was a bit disjointed. It's fast paced and there's plenty of action, but we rarely get much explanation about whats going on. It goes from plot device to plot device without any concern for what the "rules" are in this world, why things are the way they are, and how or why characters perform certain actions. But what bothered me was that there's so much build up about how various people are under angelic protection, apparently because they have important world changing tasks to perform. We therefore expect to see this resolved, i.e. discover why they person is so important. But it's not resolved. Plot holes like this are designed to sell the next books, but they frustrate readers like myself who like to feel like they've read a complete story when a book ends.

Overall, if you liked the previous books in the Demonica series this one is worth the read. If you haven't tried them yet and you're a fan of dark paranormal romance I'd recommend them. (less)

Ione's series is far easier to digest than many of the other urban romance novels out there for several reasons.
