Nach und während des Lesens entwischen einem ständig "Wows", welche die unvorhersehbaren Wendungen in der Geschichte begleiten, wenn sowohl die unglaubliche Intoleranz als auch die unglaubliche Toleranz absolut glaubhaft dargestellt werden. Am besten sind jedoch die Wows, die schlicht die Begeisterung über das Gelesene ausdrücken. Die Übersetzung Stefan Haußmanns bewahrt die durchgehende Metaphorik und jugendnahe Sprache der schwulen, lesbischen, bi- und transsexuellen Jugendlichen exzellent und ohne Auslassungen.
