When I first got this book, I was really excited to find out about the plants that would be listed in here. Well, it's mainly a picture book. It has really nice photographs and gives some information about the plants. However, no gardening book worth it's salt doesn't not list where can you get the plants! Some of the plants in here I really wanted. I had to resort to Google to find what I wanted. Some plants I found like the orchids were $100 a plant. Others I couldn't find. Don't list a plant...more
I liked this book. If I lived in a warmer zone (I live in Zone 5), I would like this book even more. The flowers are cool (literally) and the author does a nice job of explaning and illustrating. However, most of my flowers have yellows and oranges and purples and pinks. I may sneak in the Night Wings Daylily, which is a dark mahogany with yellow in the center, so it could be a lovely contrast.
