It's been a while since I've been truly impressed by a Warriors book. The writing style is just on the higher end of "good", and usually the plot and characterization aren't particularly strong. Things have been pretty interesting in PoT, however. The Erins have done a good job of keeping us in the dark.
I think that if I had to choose one thing about Eclipse that I liked best (it's a hard decision), I think I would say that my favorite element was that I actually couldn't guess ...more

I found the fourth book in the PO3 series to be full of surprises ... and I did not expect that to happen in the 16th book in the overall series. That is a tribute to the masterful writing of the author(s). The first thing that struck me was that the title actually was a main event (and significant) problem that has caused a standing premise to be questioned, at least by enough characters to weave a new concern across the next book or books. Quite honestly, I did not expect the cowardly attac...moreI found the fourth book in the PO3 series to be full of surprises ... and I did not expect that to happen in the 16th book in the overall series. That is a tribute to the masterful writing of the author(s). The first thing that struck me was that the title actually was a main event (and significant) problem that has caused a standing premise to be questioned, at least by enough characters to weave a new concern across the next book or books. Quite honestly, I did not expect the cowardly attack in the middle of the night, the life-threatening injury to a central character, or the vehemence with which Lionpaw turns on his former love from Windclan, Heatherpaw.

"Eclipse" is an engaging, gripping chapter in the continuing saga of the clans that had me right on the edge of my seat. As I was reading, it was during a particularly busy, over-scheduled time, and no matter how much time I could find to read, it was never enough. This book, however, will most likely leave the reader with more questions than answers. For those who may have already read this, isn't that wonderful! I can't wait to get started in the next book of the series, "Long Shadows," which I hope to begin later this evening.

I am intrigued by the character of the arrived loner, Sol, in tis book. It is odd how our three central heroes are drawn to him as the mentor who will take them beyond the abilities of their mentors and clanmates, yet how Sol was drawn instead to remain with Blackstar in Shadowclan: especially how this loner was able to wield such amazing influence over the Shadowclan leader, Blackstar, in such a short period of time. Seriously, have you ever known Shadowclan to do anything that any other cat suggested? There are several examples of this emerging trend included in this book.

At the beginning, "Eclipse" seemed to highlight the disconnect between the three heroes, Lionpaw, Hollypaw, and Jaypaw. However, by the end, they seem to have discovered that they are all important pieces of the tapestry to be woven by Firestar's unspoken prophesy. There is much yet to be revealed and I can't wait to get into the next book. I expect to encounter some more unexpected events before the Power of Three is truly revealed ...(less)

Another great Warrior book... :-)

In this book a loner, Sol, shows up and tells Leafpool and Jaypaw a mysterious Omen. A day after that there is a horrible battle, and all four clans are involved. A beloved cat, Squirrelflight, is left with a bad belly injury. Will she survive?

Meanwhile, Starclan is helpless to the horrors that are taking place in reality, as a result one clan has lost faith in them. Only time will tell if they come back.

I can certainly understand the appeal of the Warriors series. Its massive, well-developed world offers the reader a truly immersive experience. However, it's just not my thing for one simple reason: the characterization sucks on toast.

'Erin Hunter' (whichever of the three authors actually responsible for Eclipse) doesn't let her characters stand on their own, preferring to hold the reader's hand and explain every nuance of conversations and thoughts.

No, I couldn't. Lionpaw bit back the thought.

Most readers can connect the dots at this point. "Lionpaw's aware of his powers. He's conflicted about whether or not to make them known to others. How will this affect his status in the clan?"

The author instead goes on for a few more lines explaining the obvious. The effect is about as subtle as a car crash, and makes the overall tone of the writing strangely streamlined and tedious at the same time.

This book was very exciteing. Lionpaw is finding out more about his power. Windclan also invades thunderclan. There is a huge battle. Windclan and riverclan vs thunderclan and shadowclan. Lionpaw almost kills crowfeather. Then a strange cat named sol comes and predicts an eclips.

I can make a text to self connection to this book. In the book Lionpaw Jaypaw and Hollypaw, have to try hard not to let there secret out. This is just like when your friend wants to know a secret ...more

Like the other warrior books, I loved reading this and it was very addicting and suspenseful. The emotions that Erin Hinter is able to make you go through while reading these books proves hoe captivating they really are. You are sucked into a whole other feline world when you read these, with characters you have come to know and love and some you have come to hate... I've been attached to Erin Hunters' warrior cats ever since the first book.I now believe that somewhere,there are clans of cats with leaders who get into fierce wars.Erin Hunter adds enough life and excitement to sweep you off your feet and take right into the forest with the cats.

If I had any problems,it was with trying to picture the landscaping of the area.Although Hunter gives you a map of how the land looks like to both cats and people,you can't always look to the maps every fiv...more

I have been indifferent about most of the Power of Three series so far. Certainly, it has had its moments, some interesting bursts of creativity (especially concerning Jaypaw's blindness)... but for the most part I find it repeating the same themes that the second series has already slaughtered. Warriors Eclipse is the fourth book in the Power of Three series. This is a fiction series for teens that takes place in an unknown forest in modern times.

The main characters are Jaypaw, Hollypaw, Lionpaw, and Sol.

In this book a strange cat (Sol) comes to Thunderclan and tells an unusual prophecy. He says that the sun will die out for a short period of time. Of the four, only Jaypaw believes him. Sol leaves to tell the other three clans of the prophecy.

My friend (Who also is obsessed with Warriors) and I have been discussing predictions for this book for weeks, especially about Crowfeather, Leafpool, and the kits. Hopefully, this book will confirm those predictions! This is one of the only good things happening in September-- I hope it doesn't let me down!

Wow. That's all I can say, and I don't real mean it in a good way. I could have predicted all year and would never, ever, EVER have predicted what would happen in this book. I was totally caught off guard. It wasn't a bad book, not at all, just VERY surprising.
I'll start off without spoilers, and I'll get into spoilers later in this review. (Don't worry, I'll tell you when) Ok, so I bought the book and finished it in one day. It was SO addicting!!! There were lots of exciting parts, but the books are getting darker, MUCH darker. There wasn't ANY humor in this book--NONE. There also wasn't any romance. Practically every cat in Thunderclan is either injured or sick during this book. The three main characters are also getting darker, or at least changing. Jaypaw, for instance, is more mature in this book than the other books. He is nicer and not as prickly about his blindness, which I thought was weird, but it made him more lovable. He soon became my favorite because Hollypaw, my favorite in past books, is as annoying as heck. I love her, but she was so bossy and obsessed with the Warrior Code in this book it was hard not to want to strangle her. As annoying as Hollypaw was, Lionpaw was even worse. Why, you ask? Well-

SPOILERS AHEAD

he was borderline evil. And I'm not saying a yard away from the border of evil, I mean like he's practically got half his body across the border, THAT evil. Even Hollypaw, his own sister, was afraid of him at times. I was afraid of him at times. What happened to the cute, loving, humorous Lionpaw I used to know?? The Lionpaw in this book is bloodthirsty, serious, and I'm seriously questioning if he can still feel love. What happened to his love for Heatherpaw?? At the end of the book he wanted to KILL HER. KILL the cat he had once loved so dearly. This almost brought me to tears.

Okay, the spoilers are done people!

Although this book was depressing, I think it was the most interesting one in the series so far. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. (Hence why I couldn't stop reading it) I think that some of the books have been really formulaic, but this book defied all the formulas, which I LOVED. There wasn't a dull moment. So, although it wasn't what I thought it would be, the writing was what I hoped it would be, which made all the difference.

Interesting character development for the "three." I like the way that their characters are developing. Hollypaw's obsession with the Warrior Code is pretty much what I'd expected, although it has ripened into something richer than her younger self's dogmatism. Jaypaw is maturing out of his earlier self-pity and thorniness and developing true empathy, although his obsession with the prophecy is worrisome. And Lionpaw - can you say Anakin? River clan attack windclan, and thunderclan and shadowclan help out windclan. The three prophesied cats know of the prophecy and what power they each have. Tawnypelt has a few kits of her own. A traveler comes to the forest named Sol. As soon as he visits Shadowclan, blackstar loses belief in starclan. Tawnypelt and her kits stay in thunderclan, until her clan gets their faith in starclan back.

This book didn't turn out what I expected it to be it was so sad. A loner comes and tells Shadow clan to stop beliving in their warriorrs ancestors axnd they do. Then everything starts to fall. Blackstar annouced that his clan would no longer join the meetings. This book was a little on the surprising side that is way I gave it 4 stars.

I recommedn this book to anyone who likes surprises.

I thought it was good because it had cats in it and it was about these cats who have these powers that no other cat does.The cats do not have any owners but the cats live in groups called a clan.Each cat is in a different clan.The cats in this story are really good hunters and are very powerfull.I would want to read the whole serries because they are such good books.I thought it was a good book.
