Not much really happened in this book. We did find out at the very end who killed the man in the B&B, but that's about it. Otherwise it felt like no big revelations in the book, just setting stuff up for the next one... like Cecilia's pregnant again and Roy is getting mysterious messages. Very little of Charlotte in this one. So far, this book was the least interesting of the series. Everything was familiar, it just moved so slowly and felt like nothing really was happening. The bachelor auction...more

"44 Cranberry Point", the fourth book in Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series, focuses mainly on solving the mystery of the man who died while staying at Bob and Peggy Beldon's Bed and Breakfast. Cedar Cove in general is excited about a "dog and bachelor" auction fundraiser, but several of the residents also have other things on their mind. Jon Bowman and Maryellen Sherman are in love and have a child, but disagree about Jon's relationship with his parents. Grace Sherman is st...more

Olivia Lockhart, Grace Sherman and their family and friends are back in this fourth installment of the Cedar Cove series. 44 Cranberry Point picks up where 311 Pelican Court ended. Bob and Peggy Beldon find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation and are shocked when they learn the killer’s identity and the motive for the murder.

Ms. Macomber continues the stories of the popular characters: Olivia and her mother, Charlotte, Grace and her daughters, Jack Griffin and Cliff Hard...more

Dear Reader,

I love living in Cedar Cove, but things haven't been the same since a man died in our B and B. Turns out his name was Max Russell, and Bob had known him briefly in Vietnam. We still don't have any idea why he came here and--most important of all--who killed him. Because it now appears that he was poisoned. I sure hope somebody...more

I started the fifth last night because it was convenient and I didn't want to wake dear husband. Why does Macomber rehash what happened in previous books so thoroughly? She even has an updated cast of characters at the beginning of each book. She is enchanted with her characters; me, not so much. This one did bring some closure to the Bob Beldon and the Colonel, the other surviving soldier from the tragedy in the jungle years ago in Viet Nam. I really question that there were only four. I ...more

it seems like everyone in this town gets pregnant so easily! i'm surprised olivia or grace did not get pregnant as well.

also in the past books it's the same pattern -- date, get pregnant, break up, have the baby and reconcile and get married. nothing wrong with that but it is getting predictable.

the main characters are still enjoyable to read and keep up with. the new character hannah, was a little frustrating to read, as she was portrayed as being so timid and scared.

44 Cranberry Point is where Peggy and Bob Beldon live. They have a bed and breakfast called Thyme and Tide. They had a gentleman appear on a stormy night to spend the night in one of the rooms. Bob felt he seemed familiar but gave no further thought to it. The man said he would have information filled out by morning for Peggy. The next morning when the man did not get out of bed or leave his room, the Beldon unlocked the door and found him dead. A mystery ensued as to who this man was and ...more

44 Cranberry Point is the fourth novel in the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber. Olivia and Grace and all our favourite locals in Cedar Cove make an appearance. Olivia returns from her honeymoon with Jack and tries to adjust to married life. Grace goes all out to win back Cliff Harding after having lost his trust. Maryellen and Jon tie the knot, and there’s another surprise wedding….. The mystery of the man who died at the Thyme and Tide B&B is finally solved, but another mystery, this time i...more

44 Cranberry Point is the 4th book of the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber. Cedar Cove is a fictional small town in the Northwest US. Each book of the series brings us a continuing saga of the relationships between the families who live there, stories of conflict and resolution.

The helpful Cast of Characters in the opening pages refreshed my memory of the main stories from the first 3 books. Looks like all the characters are back, continuing on with their lives and encountering n...more

Once again I've enjoyed this series as it continues. This book is about Peggy and Bob Beldon who live @ 44 Cranberry Point. In the previous book we were left kind of hanging about who may of killed the man that died in the Beldon's bed and breakfast. In this book they finally revealed who the killer was, and it was kind of a shock to be honest. Other then that, you learn more and more about the citizens in Cedar Cove and their day to day issues and such. We see how Olivia and Jack are tryin...more

A continuing story of the families who live in Cedar Cove, Washington. As I mentioned in the review of the prior book in this series, there is more mystery in this series than in others. In this book, one mystery was finally resolved but another one was developing as the book ended -- making it ripe for the next book in the series, of course. The mystery was dealt with in a very intriguing and interesting way. I began to have my suspicions about the outcome a few chapters before it ended and i...more

The soap opera continues... Cecilia and Ian diagree about a new baby - Cecilia refuses to do anything to prevent geetting pregnant and Ian (navy guy) tries to stay his distance... unsuccessfully. She gets pregnant, and he loves her and works hard to accept it and deal with his fears. Grace finds gumption to tell Will off when he shows up and to fight for Cliff, who finally starts to respond. Central to the plot is the dog and bachelor auction... Charlotte (the matriarch) marries Ben (after W...more

This is the 4th book in the Cedar Cove series and I think it's the best so far. Macomber has added mystery, romance and family issues that are not always "feel good" but definitely pique your desire to keep reading. She has several stories going at a time so there is no time to get bored with the story line. This is definitely "chic lit" but it is done pretty well. There is nothing in her writing that would be offensive to the reader so any age would enjoy the book, however i...more

This book read very quickly, but was not nearly as good as the previous two. The whole Vietnam issue is (finally) put to rest, and the two newlywed couples are having a few issues settling in. That's... really it. The whole Cliff/Grace situation just has me agitated. There were no characters in this book that I really latched on to. There wasn't enough of Cecilia and Ian, and there was too much of Roy and Corrie. Hopefully the next book will be better?
Christine
Not much happening. Excited things are looking up for Grace and Cliff. Olivia and Jack are having a few spots. Charlotte and Ben, well things are happening. MaryEllen :-( It just struck me that this series has a soap opera feel, minus all the changing partners and sex. You want to know what happens with everyone, so you keep "tuning" in each book.

I loved this book. In fact this is my second time reading this one. I have read alot of this series and love the way that you are able to keep up with what is going on in the lives of the other people in cedar grove that you had read about in the previous books.
Melissa
44 Cranberry Point is mainly focused on Bob and Peg the owners of Thyme and Tide the B & B. They figure out who killed the stranger. It seems like all the married couples are having problems. It is a good book not real memorable though.

This series is wonderful. It is like you really get to know the people of Cedar Cove. I find myself thinking about what a certain character might do next. I really like when authors keep writing series like this!

I really enjoy it when an author surprises me with a conclusion of a situation in a book. Got two with this one. I am really enjoying this series and would HIGHLY recommend not reading out of order.

No typos/editing issues noted.

Eh, this one was just okay for me. I didn't care as much about Peggy and her worries of her husband, Ray. Or was it Roy? The writing was just fine, but the characters weren't engaging for me.
Karen
VERY light reading... kind of like an on going soap opera. I just like that once you get to know the characters you can keep checking in on them. I read this one almost entirely in one evening.

I think this is the type of book you have to already be involved with the series. I don't think it stood so well on it's own. I will probably go back and read the first part of the series because I did like the characters.

This is the 4th book in the Cedar Cove series. In this book we visit with Peggy and Bob who run the Bed and Breakfast in Cedar Cove. Great addition.
Tanya
This was another great book in this series. Unlike the ones before, this one left you knowing that it was continued. I'll be starting the next book this evening! =)

# 4 in the Cedar Cove Series There's lots of other gossip I could tell you. Come by for a cup of tea and one of my blueberry muffins and we'll talk. Not much really happened in this book. We did find out at the very end who killed the man in the B&B, but that's about it. Otherwise it felt like no big revelations in the book.

The Cedar Cove series just keeps getting better and better. I can't go to sleep at night without reading at least 2 chapters every night.

there is not much to like about this series of books from Debbie Macomber. Nice, quick reads. Relatable characters. Good storyline. My only problem with the author is that she tends to repeat things to much throughout each book.
