Great reference source! She breaks down the search process into first a general outline and then state by state process. also offers some nice examples and period pictures along the way which absolutely assist in making her points! it is in need of an update, but that is because of some new information that has been released and just general updates that ALL reference pieces need from time to time, I hope she republishes soon.

This work is a great way to follow how laws and customs in each state affect how we research women in our American genealogies. It helped me to quickly find the dates of Missouri laws that I needed in researching my great-great grandmother. It has extensive bibliographies for further research.
