For as long as there have been Trolling Nights, Bevin Moore has been the unofficial official Gatekeeper for her group of friends, the Femme Crew. She is always the designated driver and always makes sure the ladies do not leave the premises with someone she considers a loser. Bevin takes her job very seriously, even if she doesn’t like Trolling Nights in the first place. Y ...more

Danielle The Book Huntress (Self-Proclaimed Book Ninja)
I have heard nothing but good things about Savannah J. Frierson's writing. I can see the praise was well-deserved. This is one of the best books I've ever read. I've read a lot of romances, and luckily I don't actively dislike most of them. But neither can I say I love many of them to death and would seriously consider taking on a desert island as the only book I would bring. I feel that way about this book. It's one of those books you want to read again right after you finish it, and will no do ...more

What I loved:
This book has enormous heart in it. Filled with all of the good, the bad, & the wonderfully unexpected things we call life. Full of change of seasons concerning growth of emotions & truth.

What irked me:
Besides the lead heroine's name, her best friend, Courtney. I couldn't reconcile how this situation was touched on/handled. The issues & emotions involved with what occurred just weren't dealt with realistically, IMO by Bevin once Courtney's true colors were

True Romance; a review of my all time favorite romance.

I read all kinds of romance. Historical, contemporary, interracial, multicultural, heterosexual, homosexual. Seriously everything, and I have been reading romance since I was 11 years old. Now having said that, if someone were to ask me what my favorite romance novel is my answer would be, without having to think about it, Trolling Nights.

I really believe that no matter what kind of romance a reader likes there is something about this book t

This book started off with promise. I love how Tim was not interested in Courtney but had eyes only for Bevin. I've never read a story before where the heroine was black and a virgin. So it was interesting to see the author's take on this. Since Bevin thought herself unattractive since she was overweight, I could see her being a virgin at 27.

The story started to lose steam as it went along. This was a long book. I wished there was more conflict. It would have been nice to see Courtney and Bevin

Oh, where to begin with this review?? This book should be handed out to men as an instruction manual on "How to Love Your Woman Properly" by Tim Capshaw. Tim is the definition of what a real man is. He loved Bevin with an intesity and one track mindedness that, as was pointed out in the book, we rarely get to see in life. This book is the epitome of what a true love story is. It was so extraordinarily sweet, I read most of it with a big huge sappy grin on my face, and lots of tears running down ...more

I'm new to Savannah J. Frierson so was intrigued by a friend's review on Goodreads. Always one for a good HEA story with some depth, this seemed to fit the bill and be a slight departure from what I've been reading of late. First the whole premise of "Trolling Nights" with one friend never having her own fun while playing den mother to her full grown girlfriends/fellow business owners seemed ridiculous to me. Once, I got beyond that and we meet Tim...let the swooning begin! This was quite possib ...more

I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend it for a read.

As I was reading the reviews for this book, I was totally flabbergasted. They were positively glowing. I knew I had to read it. Well ... let me tell you it was worth all of the praise that it was given. Tim and Bevin were just gorgeous together. I liked the fact that color was not the central issue in this story. It was there, but didn't permeate it. If there was ever a man who knew what he wanted from life and who he wanted to experience it with, it was Tim. Although, I wanted Bevin to lap up a ...more

This was a very sweet love story between two very loveable characters. However, although I did enjoy reading it, it isn't one I would read again.

The books starts with Bevin and the Femme Crew on a Trolling Night, which basically means that they go out to shag and drink. Bevin, our heroine, is their designated driver and basically sees to all the her friends safety. So not such a fun night for her. However, on this particular trolling night she does get noticed. Tim looks across the room and is i

I cannot see my self relating to these women, trolling for men to sleep with and the heroine acting like their pimp. The constant use of the words c**k, Pu**Y and F**k, was a big turn off. it was not hot or romantic, for the heroine to think she understood why these women had one night stands, it was because they wanted romance, was a joke, if that's what they call romantic, whoever thinks that have never been romanced.

The hero lost points when he did not come to the heroine defense at the resta

This is a great read! I enjoyed this as much as "Being Plumville"!The main characters Timothy and Bevin are likable and you feel for them as they navigate their way towards love.

I don't want to go too much into detail because that would spoil it for other readers, but to anyone who enjoys a story that has respect, like, love, sex, sass, sizzle and sweetness all between two covers of a book, this is for you....ENJOY!

Wow. A one-sit read for me. It was great! I'm definitely gonna read the rest of the author's books. The heroine's family is one of the best parts. Had me laughing quite a bit.

Sweet sweet sweet!

This was a really sweet story. I have read some BW/WM romance but had never found one where the heroine was a virgin and at 27 at that.
Bevin was a strong black woman, she and her friends used to go out on what they called 'trolling nights' and Bevin was always the 'gatekeeper'. She kept all the losers away from her friends. She doesn't believe she is as beautiful as her friends so she doesn't have as much fun on these nights as her friends seem to have until the night she met

This is an excellent book in the IR genre. This author is great at actually developing a romantic story over time. Most IR books seem to rush this however she gets that the best part to any love story is the journey. There a great twist that I really did not expect but given the circumstance it really helps me to see the heroine as a real person with depth and dimensions with a past that has impacts how she relates to men. The hero is one for the record books in that he is completely smitten wit ...more

I loved this story. This was a story about True friendship, loyalty, acceptance, tolerance, and Love. The wonderful thing about this book is all of the characters were believable and a lot of know people like the ones portrayed in the book. It was a wonderful story not only about interracial love but how a dark skinned, not so thin women sees and views herself and how others see and view her as well. This was a story about being able to communicate and forgive not only others but one's self and ...more

4 stars. This book was so unique; It has its' moment of sadness, and also Deja Vu on my behalf. Wow, I was so stuck on this book didn't put it down until it finish. Tim's love to Bevin was from the moment he saw her, how many men can say something like that. I believe it is only in books, well in my life, so far. But I can only hope for the future. The way he loved her so much. Bevin had so many issues of closing her walls to be loved, her low self esteem because of her weight, how her friends t ...more

LOVE FOUND AWAY ONE TROLLING NIGHT....SAVANNAH FRIERSON HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!

Tim Capshaw found a way for Bevin Moore to accept his love! Love found away to heal the two from painful experiences from their past. Two people made to love and cherish each other despite life and the mind's way of trying to steer them otherwise. Savannah Frierson has written a wonderful story about two people who because of life's adversity fi

I love romance…real romance…and I read a ton of them. One of my favorite genres within the Romance class is the fairly new BWWM. I didn’t realize that I’d read so many of Ms. Frierson’s until I checked my physical and electronic bookshelves. I really like her stories and this one really hit me. I don’t normally give more than four stars. Many times these stories get three stars only as I don’t feel that the BW in the romance would have the strength that it would take to grow up Black and female ...more

This book was interesting it drew me in how much Tim loved Bevin from the very beginning. She would urk my nerves by being so critical of herself and all the self esteem issues she had. It was really bad I mean she tore herself down to the point I see why Courtney felt the way she did in a sense. I was so glad Bevin got herself together. Another thing that irritated me was they kept dancing around sex...I was like can yall bone already. But I did love the ending...I enjoyed it none the less.

This was a sweet romance and I enjoyed for the most part. But the back and forth between our two mc's mainly the female protagonist drove me nuts. I get she was a virgin and wanted to wait until she was married before having sex, but to just be holed up in her parents house for all those days (because of a past issue) was one of those "like really?" book moments for me. I get it was a past that she couldn't forget and it led to her intimacy issues, that part of the story just didn't fit for me. ...more

I loved this story It is truly a love story you will fall in love with Tim and Bevin like I did . You get a love story from the beginning take takes through the journey of their relationship . There was never a part in this book that I was bored . I laughed and cried in this book . I always remember this story of love and recommend it to my friends.

Sweeet! That's what this book is! It's not perfect but it's a very sweet story with nice characters. My only complaint is that the hero is too good to be true! I read it in one sitting, and it made me feel good too. I'm very thankful to Danielle who brought it to my attention. Awsome bookhunting, girl!

Enjoyed this book. Timothy and Bevin were cute. Tim appeared to be that stereotypical southern gentleman that you hear about. The only downside to this book was how the vernacular changed as the book progressed. Also, the slang was cheesy. Other than that a solid IR.

This book was amazing. This book is the kind of stories I enjoy, I felt so apart of what was happening that it feel real. The book came to life for me and it was so beautiful, raw, and sweet. I'm amazed at how much this book has not only grabbed my attention but my heart. The characters were amazing it's like they themselves are intertwined so well that the story just unfold right before your eyes. It was filled with so much love and heart. One of the most truly romantic books I've read in a long time, maybe ever. Bevin Moore the perpetual designated driver and protector for her girlfriends and business partners. Thing is, they all go out and Bevin sits in the corner and gives the royal decree for guys to take her friends home nd while she doesn't seem to mind, there is something wrong with the situation. One night things change when Navy SEAL Tim Capshaw walks in and he's not interested in the tall red head, the stacked blond or t ...more

Loved It.....This was a story for Grown Ups. Bevin was ALWAYS the Gate Keeper of her girlfriends at the club, made sure they were safe if going home with the various men...Bevin had to approve and and verify cellphone numbers FIRST. But she never minded her position. Until one night the Finest man in the place had his eye on Bevin!!!!!! He approaches her sitting alone at the booth, she thinks he's there for her friend Courtney, who is interested in Tim. It takes a while for Bevin to ascertain th ...more

I really really loved this book! The way this man loved was everything I could want in a romance book! I haven't read a book where the sex was not the main part of the story but the emotions and the honest truth of his love trumped all. Well done can't wait for more I am a true fan thanks for this story!
