Mace has done it again, adding another great adventure to his collection of Roman stories. High adventure, great historical detail and graphic descriptions of battle at the height of empire.

Artorius and company are garrisoned in Lugdunum after quelling the Sacrovir revolt but there is still a remnant of the rebellion, led by Heracles, and he is terrorizing the area looking for revenge. This could have been a good series, but if there was any proof reading it wasn't very well done. The misspellings, missed words, spellchecking errors end up by taking over. Bought the series so will probably finish them, but could have been so much better

Continuan las historias de Artorious y la tercera cohorte. Se llena de sensaciones de anacronismos como flexibilidad de relaciones entre clases sociales, artes marciales mixtas y liberacion femenina y deja esa impresion de que ya no es respetable como novela historica.

loved the first two books maybe because at the time they were "new"; market got flooded since with similar stuff and the "macho" style of the series started grating

James Mace developed his passion for history at a young age and has made Ancient Rome a life's study. He penned the initial draft of his first novel, "Soldier of Rome: The Legionary", as a cathartic means of escapism while serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq. He spent a career as a Soldier, and in 2011 left his full-time position with the Army National Guard to devote himself to writing.
