I wanted to love this book. It seemed like a subject I'd really be interested in and the author is obviously very smart!

I have a mom who died when I was 18 -- around the same age as the author so that part I could related to.

I was fascinated by Straub's story. Wow, her life was so different from mine. I enjoyed reading it as far as a memoir, but not as something that gave me wisdom on how to lean into my female attributes.
