This volume ends the fishman story arc and goes on to prove that besides being ridiculously strong and having a true gift for finding talented people, Luffy is also ridiculously lucky.

I liked how it wrapped up Nami's past troubles so that it finally feels like she can really progress as a character. Her goodbye is not to be missed!!!

My book was exellent!I was happy. When I saw this book because it taught me a lot of things like when Luffy beat Arlong he told Nami that she's his new navigator. I learned that if your in trouble a friend is always beside you. Nami almost had to kill Usopp in order to get Arlong's respect.

I'm pretty sure I read this a couple of years ago, but oh well! This is fairly standard shonen action, but it's hard not to feel some affection of Luffy's sheer exuberance.

After wrapping up the Arlong story arc, Luffy's crew sets sail for the Grand Line with many returning faces and a new devil fruit powered foe.

The final battle pits Luffy against Arlong, of course. Arlong looks unbeatable until Luffy discovers something about Arlong's relationship with Nami that gives him the edge. All is going well until the navy shows up again... and, to make matters worse, one of Luffy's old nemeses appears. Also-- finally-- the return of a character we haven't seen since vol. 1. Oda was starting to get a little episodic there for a while, b...more
