I won't write a plot synopsis, since there a few very detailed ones at GR already.
I absolutely loved Coming Undone! The story takes place over about 1 1/2 years and you really get to know Brody and Elise. I've read all Ms. Dane's Chase brothers books, and the first in this series, Laid Bare. I loved all of her heroes. They are alpha in most aspects, but also so warm and caring that I just want to cuddle with them all!
Well, at the very least, any way....

^^UNDONE,LAID BARE AND WIDE OPEN!!^^
Lauren Dane does it again, spinning an erotic tale with human emotion and sizzling sex. This book is the second in a series revolving around a family of siblings and the women/men they love. Although this book is not as epic as the first it’s just as good and emotional, then again my view could be biased because the first book had a very unusual coupling and I loved it.

Very, very nice read. I really enjoyed this one. There was nothing particularly unusual about the plot, no sudden twists or turns or nothing overly melodramatic, or no big hidden secret revealed (okay, there was a secret revealed, but I doubt readers will be shocked by the secret)--this was just a beautifully detailed character driven story, and what wonderful characters they were! I absolutely fell in love with the hero, the heroine, and their extended families. Although this book is part o

First Read January 22 2010
This book was freaking awesome!!!!!
I just finished it and I am just really at a loss for words except, it was just awesome!!!!
Re-read 9/2011
Brody Brown remains the #1 hero in my opinion. Everything about him was just so, so swoon worthy. He is every woman's fantasy, hell probably some men too.

The second book for the Brown family. I found it not as good as the first, but its still a good erotic romance. You’ll read about the whole family again plus you get another glimpse into Erin’s bedroom with her two men, so this one does have m/m and more m/m interaction then in the first book. You still get excitement, mixed emotions with a added bonus of a hot tattoo, body piercing man with a goatee named Brody who owns his own tattoo studio.

This is the review for all the three books.
Lauren Dane conjured a happy go lucky world; a circle of friends and lovers in which good beats shit out of evil. There isn't a bad word shed among friends, they kiss and hug because they feel like it. They create this good feeling in the peeping toms i.e. us readers and make us grin most of the time. Well at least this is true in my case. However, there are moments in all the three books when I wondered if I missed a page because the au More...

Coming Undone: 2 star DNF
This book has gotten some rave reviews. I love the characters and the premise behind the book. Sexy Tatted up bad but covert good guy. A strong heroine fighting her past with a cute tot. Great themes here!! But...OMG this book IMHO is written terribly. The prose is so unnatural and choppy. It's a hard read! Sentence fluency and word choice needs to be corrected. Did no editor catch this? Every review said the sex was great and I can only hope that the More...

BRODY...sighhh... I loved Laid Bare, but I REALLY LOVED Coming Undone, maybe because there was no big suspense, but instead a broken single mom, a HOT bad boy (who was not so bad on the inside) and a precocious 7 yr old. Brody sooo does it for me, tattoos, motorcycle all the things that set my bad boy tingle to hyperspeed - but he is also loving, loyal and protective. Elise is raising her daughter, while trying to keep a new business going, so she doesn't have time for men or dating. Brody i

Well, the emotional intensity was definitely present throughout this novel. I am in love with Brody...what a wonderful man.
Single mom, Elise has been emotionally and physically abused--duh! What novel would be complete without the wounded dove? Now, in a new town she finds friendship and love in the most unexpected place...in her front yard, well, technically across the street--semantics. This was a great story of new beginnings and letting go of the past...of loving and being lov More...

I'm going to have to write "what Katie(babs) said".
An erotica needs to hit both on sex that is part of the story and emotions.
The sex is the same as any romance novel, except for when to 'spice' is the author changed POV's to the sister for a half dozen pages and a sex scene btwn her and her men (yes 2). Which since I had no intentions of reading Laid Bare nearly turned it into a DNF. It's the ONLY part of the book that is not from the POV or lives of our main c More...

What did I think. I have only read a couple of Lauren Dane books and they have always been good. This one I don't know if it was because I really connected to the characters or what. I love Brody he looks like a bad boy with the motorcycle and tattoo's but he's really a good guy. Raising his younger sister and brother after their parents deaths. Then he meets his next door neighbor. Elise is a single Mum with a 7 year old daughter, she has baggage. They meet and fairly quickly start a frie

We meet Brody Brown, the hero, in the first book in this series, Laid Bare. He is the oldest brother of three siblings on which this series is based. At a young age, the Brown siblings parents die and Brody has to take over the raising of his siblings, putting aside dreams of going to art school. Now years later, Erin Brown is settled down with her two men, Todd and Ben. Life is good for Brody. He is nearing 40, owns his own house, rides his Harley on sunny days and has all the family and friend

I've wanted to read Lauren Dane for a long time. Coming Undone kinda fell in my lap and it was only after I started it that I realized it was not the first book of the Brown siblings series. It was fine as a stand alone.
Ms. Dane includes a short note at the beginning where she says that she writes "families" a lot to show connection both to each other and the community you live in. She adds that these connections are not always made by blood relationships, but by the peopl More...

I absolutely loved this book. I haven't read a book in a while that I truly enjoyed this much.
It focused on real relationships. Romanance, family, friends. It was nice to read about an older couple as opposed to most that I've read with characters in their twenties and early thirties. Not that I don't love those, I do. It's just a nice change to see that older couples are also seen as very sexual beings.

About 80% in & I can't take anymore. I'm done.
Lauren Dane manages to retell the same story in many different ways.

I pretty much fell in love with the Brown family when I read Laid Bare. Watching Brody be able to finally start a life of his own after taking care of everyone around him for so long was nice.
This story was less drama filled than the last book. While Elise had a lot of things to over come throughout her life she was pretty well together by the time we meet her. In the end that let the story be all about Elise and Brody and not filled with so much trauma. There were some truly g More...

After reading "Laid Bare", I just had to get this next one. Like, it wasn't an option not to. The story of Brody and Elise felt familiar to me. I guess maybe Dane wrote them in such a way that I felt like knew these people and felt their pain.
In the first novel of the series, I didn't feel very drawn to Todd but Brody was entirely different. I could really see him and felt his actions were genuine. Whereas I though Laid Bare had a bit TOO much sex (apparently there can be su More...

Coming Undone is the highly anticipated follow-up to Laid Bare. Although this is a sequel it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Coming Undone centers on Erin's older brother Brody and his new neighbor, Elise.
Brody is almost 40, tatted up, and hot; he actually owns his own tattoo parlor. We learn throughout the story that Brody's parents died when he was a young man and he left his plans for the future to care for his younger brother and sister - he doesn't regret any of More...

Another good installment from Lauren Dane. This was a nice friends to lovers books. Very adult and low key. Tatto artist Brody is the older brother to Erin (whose book Laid Bare was a nice eroic m/f/m read) and Adrian. He lives a good comfortable life. Although he looks like some mean, tattooed biker, he is a really a nice solid citizen who loves his family and has a good business.

Coming Undone focuses on Brody Brown, Erin Brown’s (from Laid Bare) brother. Brody is the ideal big brother, if you can still say that about a sexy 40 year old tattooed biker guy. He took up the reigns raising his siblings when he was just 17 and has been their protector for all of his life. He runs a successful tattoo shop and has little time for more than a casual fling here and there. His world is reshaped when he starts up a casual relationship with his new neighbor, Elise Sorenson. Elise is

Have you ever read a book that everyone really seems to enjoy, but you find yourself having the opposite reaction? This has happened to me in the case of Lauren Dane’s Coming Undone. I’ve been a big fan of Lauren’s past work and she really does write some of the best love scenes out there. But with Coming Undone, I felt something was missing. The plot didn’t keep my interest because the plot came across as too ho-hum, and the fact that the two main characters use each other for the soul purpose

This is my second Lauren Dane read and while I enjoyed it and couldn't put it down, I wanted it to be... better. I feel like Dane has this awesome amazing writing potential and she's *thisclose* to living up to it.

I love the Brown series sooooo much. Everytime I read one of Lauren Dane's books I can't decide if I love it more than I did the last one.
Brody was an awesome character and Elise was an excellent female character. I'd love to watch her dance. I have a Kindle but this is one series that I buy in book version because I love the covers so much. The best covers ever.

A tattooed, Harley riding bad ass. What’s not to love? Brody is the older brother to his two siblings Adrian and Erin. Nearing forty, he owns a successful tattoo shop, a nice home, and enjoys a satisfying life knowing both of the siblings he raised are settled in successful careers and happy. Surrounded by family and good friends, life is good for Brody.

Coming Undone is Brody’s story. The eldest brother of the Brown siblings, he has brought Erin and Adrian up since the tragic deaths of their parents and has always been there for them, supporting and guiding them, making his own sacrifices along the way.
Brody loves women and having a good time with them, he never wanted a full on serious relationship and never dreamed of falling in love. That is until he meets his new neighbour, ballerina Elise and her six year old daughter Rennie. More...

I thought this was such a sweet story. Brody and Elise entered into a relationship with neither expecting to fall in love with the other but through conflicts and difficulties in Elise's life, their love bloomed and thrived. That Rennie was such a spunkly little kid. I love Lauren Dane's writing. She doesn't always write peaches and cream romance stories. Her stories are often rife with conflict...like life. Her stories often contain difficult circumstances, situations, or people. But through he

I was intrigued by Brody and Elise's story but didnt know what to expect. Boy, am I glad I gave it a chance! Believable characters and plot...one of the most well-written books, I've read in this genre in a LONG LONG time. I loved that this wasn't a fall-in-love-and propose-marriage-in-3-days type of romance novel although Brody Brown sounds like a man who could make a lady swoon and lose her senses!! It's not quick read but I finished it in a day because I just couldn't put it down. I read this
