Spectacular and sleek adaptation of one of the greatest mythic epics. Greek Mythology has always intrigued and amazed me since 7th grade- particularly the story of Odysseus. This graphic version of Homer's story captures the thrills, drama and humanity of the poem very well. Each panel was beautifully drawn and colored. The dialogue drew me in upon reading a few pages. While the novel did not focus on every book of the poem- it does an excellent job of addressing the main characters thoughts, ...more

Dang, this book was good!

You see, most of my teachers know I'm a kind of Greek Mythology addict. So when I see this book, of course I will pick it up and read it! The art in here is amazing, and gets my heart racing. Greg Tochinni is a great artist (Sorry if I spell your name wrong or got your name wrong)and I would love to learn with him!

Odysseus has been away at the Trojan War for ten long years. It was his wits that won the Trojan War, and brought the beautiful Helen back to Menelaus of Spa

A great idea that is nearly killed by really uneven art and Giffen's need to make every single bit of dialogue funny.
It's a bunch of monsters with guns! Not the &*(^! Three Stooges! Shut up Keith!
Keith is a talented writer, but he is also his own worst enemy.

Shame this brilliant idea ended up as such a 'so-so' story. Worth a look, but Tim Truman did a much better version of this idea with his 'Creature Commandos' mini-series from DC.

'Howling' should have been a summer action movie. Keith tre

I know the basics, but have never read any version of "The Odyssey". This was an OK introduction, and helped in figuring out some of the references in "Cold Mountain" and even "O Brother Where Art Thou?". This one probably just loses too much in being condensed down to a 100 page graphic novel. Some great artwork - just not a really engrossing read.

The art is mediocre, everyone looks the same - strong and handsome which is very silly. The storytelling is also pretty lame, not much is explained of Odysseus adventures and only the highlights are touched.Only issue 3 with the Cyclopes episode was a bit interesting.

Another good book for young readers (though the end is bloody but not graphic) or anyone who never got around to reading the Odyssey. I give it a three because though it handles the story well the art is just so-so.

Luscious graphics - especially some of the ladies - and a really very good run through the hero's quest thing in not a lot of pages. Kind of more fun than the original :)

I'm not really sure why the title is for Nick Fury when it's supposed to be a graphic telling of the Odyssey, which I felt was fairly well done.

In this graphic novel, the story of Odysseus is retold. Odysseus goes out to fight the Trojans but never makes it home until the gods help him and on his journey he overcomes the craziest challenges.
