Ever wonder what it takes to get a high rise built in the heart of Times Square?? This book takes you on the journey of the construction of 1540 Broadway. You see how the project started from a vision and turned into a nightmare by the time it was completed (1990). Today the building stands as yet another somewhat bland (but not awful) result from value engineering and the PoMo esthetic of the 80s. But that doesn't deter from the interesting history of what it takes to get things done in Manhatt...more
