Katie Quaid could never refuse a dare. It was the quality that had once made her a world-class equestrian. And it was the reason she'd been elected to introduce herself to Briarwood's intimidatingly gorgeous new resident. It had taken one week to make Nick Leone the focus of the Virginia town's rumor mill. So far he was a CIA agent, a male model, a fugitive--maybe all thre...more

The narrator had a terrible male voice! Some narrators excel at reading for the opposite sex; this narrator does not!

Katie bugged me with her "all-or-nothing" attitude. She can't have children, she "thought about it" in the past, and no way will she adopt. Maybe the author didn't explain her reasons well, or maybe Katie didn't have good reasons, but it seemed like something that she could overcome if she truly wanted to be with Nick.

There are times for a light read. Light does not necessarily connote poorly written. And my version did not have this subtitle: (Loveswept, #304.) Which would have been an indication of whether to open the jacket or not.

I'd stepped into the crowded bookmobile and my claustrophobia perked right up. So, I grabbed a couple of titles and made a quick check out and exit. Thus, came "Rumor Has It."

Predictable plot and characters. Yes, it passed away a rainy af...more

I didn't realize when I checked this out that it was a romance novel. I should have taken a clue form the cover art, but instead was interested because I had read several of Tami Hoag's thriller. Needless to say,it required a shift on my part, but I enjoyed it once I stopped waiting for the murder to happen!

Proof that you should never believe rumors. Nick is so far from what battered Katie believes is his that it makes for an interesting discovery of possibilities. The book illustrates the limits we place on ourselves is what keeps us from achieving our dreams and desires.

Narrators voice was extremely annoying when it came to dialog. I also did not realize that this was a romance by Tami Hoag...I mot likely will not be getting one of her romances in the future. I was embarrassed to listen to it at times, because the story was so cheesy.
Carrie
2.5* Very predictable, and a little to melodramatic, but still overall an enjoyable quick read. This is a very early Tami Hoag with no suspense or mystery plot.
Eliza
I really really wanted to smack her upside the head and tell her, "Get over it." I only finished it because I didn't have anything else to read.
Sorcha
Fun, light, romance from Tami Hoag. Have read other (non-romance) books by her and it's interesting to compare styles!

this is a quick easy read. We should try to remember that as our circumstances change - so should we.
Stacey
Thought this was a different book, instead it turned out to be a stupid romance book.
Sue
It was a silly girl's romance book. I thought it would get better. It didn't

This book took a strange turn. I have no interest in finishing it.
Ilean
An enjoyable, quick easy read. I could not put it down till I finished it.

You never know what you're going to get with Hoag.
Robert Van Tuyl
Romance. I see why she change to mysteries.
Melanie
Audiobook. 2 1/2 stars for the story; 1 1/2 stars for the regional accents:-(
Maggie
A very cute and sweet story!

Had some good moments but author could have added one more happy ever after at the end and it would have been much better.
Allison
I wasn't fan of the main character Katie and I the story was kind of perdictuable.
Heather
