It's a kid's caper book, and it has about all the substance that you would expect from a caper book. The characters in the gang are defined by their abilities: there's the climber, the small space guy, the computer wiz, etc... And the "brains" behind the gang is "The Man With The Plan." The plans, of course, go terribly awry. But everything works out in the end.

I've read some reviews where people are concerned about the kind of role models and messages that this might send out to our kids. That'...more

Griffin Bing, “the Man with the Plan” is back with his friends from Swindle to solve another mystery and put some more shady adults in their place.

The day Savannah’s pet monkey Cleo goes missing gets worse when the kids discover the monkey is being held captive in a crummy, run-down zoo. As if running a crummy zoo with tiny cages and questionable animal care isn’t bad enough, the zoo is actually stealing pets to fill up the zoo…and the kids aren’t going to stand for it. The grown-ups the kids go...more

What a disappointment! The latest works from Gordon Korman, including Swindle, "Schooled", and this book are horrible!
"Zoobreak" was the sequel to "Swindle" and was basically the same book with different details thrown in. It followed the pattern of: Kids get cheated by "bad" adult, police won't help, so kids literally break into someplace and then get caught by police, but the police let them off because the adult whose property the kids broke into was "bad". What kind of message is this sendi...more

Zoobreak is the sequel to Korman's Swindle. Most of the previous gang make an appearance. This time, instead of a card being stolen, Savannah Drysdale's pet monkey Cleo goes missing. Luther, Savannah's pet doberman (transformed from the vicious killer of Swindle into a pussycat) is devastated. Savannah and her sixth grade class go on a field trip to a run-down floating zoo. Savannah creates a disturbance when she spots Cleo in one of the cages. Her legal efforts to get Cleo back go nowhere. Ente...more

Yes, I liked it for the following reasons first there were lots of action when Savannah, Ben, Griffin, and the rest of the gang break into the zoo, and when Griffin and Ben were tied up by Mr.Nastas, but Griffin and Ben's friends makes a plan to save them. Second there was a mystery when they get all the animals off the boat but the animal shelter person is gone of helping other animals around the world, where are the...more

A fun book for any one, this is targeted for ages 8-12. Korman is probably the best dialogue writer around - for any age. Regardless of how complex the vocabulary is, all his dialogue tells you something about the person saying it or moves the plot forward or both. In addition to that, it's hysterically funny. One of the best children's authors working today.

This book was Zoobreak. It was by Gordan Korman. This was a fiction book. The main characters were Oitch, Melissa, Ben, Griffin, Savannah, Logan, Darren Vacer, Klaus, and the Zookeeper. Savannah's monkey was stolen, but it was found in the Zoo. Will the crew break in and save the monkey from the horrible zoo? Some problems that characters encountered were that they had to help Savannah. It was difficult since hey were holding animals. In this book my favorite character would be Savannah. She is...more

An awesome fast paced action packed book. If want action, drama, and suspence read zoobreak By Gordon Korman
Mrs. Carbonneau's Class

For Zoobreak (by Gordon Korman) itself I'll give it about 3 stars because it isn't too good yet is isn't horrible either, but the Swindle series itself I give 5 stars.

The reason because I only give it 3 stars is stated in the first sentence but also because when I first read this book is was soooo predictable I mean I'm not the person to give spoilers but if you read this book it's not really exiting because the author pretty much tells you exactly what happens right before it happens and it rui...more

The book "ZooBreak" is a fantastic fiction mystery book. It involves a group of teens who take a field trip to the zoo. One specific teen Griffin Bing notices how badly the animals are being treated. Also they find Cleo, Savannah's monkey. Griffin is the man with the plan. The author states that a lot in the story. Griffin and his friends then go on a secret mission to expose the truth about the zoo. They find very interesting barriers and finds on the way.
The author really did a good job on s...more

When Savannah's monkey is stolen and put into the exhibit cages of a poorly run floating zoo, it is up to the 6th graders from Swindle to plan a zoobreak!

As I started reading this book, it became clear to me that I was reading a sequel to a book I hadn't yet read. This book does largely stand alone. The only difficulty I encountered was that the main characters got introduced a little too quickly, but I sorted them out easily enough. And references to the earlier book weren't vital to this plot,...more

Zoobreak was a really good book. It is about Griffin's friend savannah gets her monkey stolen. Griffin, Ben, Pitch, and Logan help Savannah get back her stolen monkey. The person who stole the monkey is the owner of a really bad zoo. He stole the monkey because he wants his zoo to be exciting. He just cares about the money. Savannah knew that he stole her monkey because she saw her at the thief's zoo. When he knew where her mo...more

Zoobreak by Gordon Korman, published in 2009, kid book

This book is about these kids that take this monkey because one of the kids thinks that it was
stolen but they know where he is (on a zoo boat). There are more than one protagonist but I think
Savannah Drysdale is the main one because the kids are trying to find her monkey back. I know this is
the main one because in the book, it says that she is the animal expert and a fantastic monkey handler.

The theme of this book is to never give up and keep...more

I think that the book was a little silly, but overall I thought the book was great. I think it has a lot of creativity. And probably a little drama in the story, and probably a little bit of action. The author of this book is Gordan Korman, and the genre is realistic ficiton. The conflict in the story is that this girl named Savannah lost her pet monkey and now her and her friends team up to find her missing monkey. But her monkey is in a floating zoo, and the floating zoo is abusive and dirty....more

This book is all about getting Savannah's monkey, Cleopatra back. Then by a complete surprise they see Cleopatra at a very bad zoo where none of the animals are getting what they need. Then they get kicked out of the zoo because Savannah goes crazy because she knows that is her monkey and the person whos giving the tour refuse to admit to it. Then Griffin or the "man with a plain" and Ben decide to get the monkey back. After a long day Griffin finally made a plain including a lot of different pe...more

When Giffian Bing's class go to a zoo on a ship they are shocked at how the animals are being treated. Also they don't expect to find Savannah's long lost monkey on board the ship. They didn't know but once they rescure the pet's they have to hide them so that the zoo keepers can't find them after being rescued.

I thought that this book was a little on the easier side beacause it's not a very long book and the font is bigger than normal, plus it's got really easy vocab. Aft...more

Korman wrote his first book, "This Can't be Happening at Macdonald Hall", when he was 12 years old, for a coach who suddenly found himself teaching 7th grade English. He later took that episode and created a book out of it, as well, in "The Sixth Grade Nickname Game", wherein Mr. Huge was based on that 7th grade teacher.

Korman moved to New York City, where he studied film and film writing. While i...more
