This book underscores the point that pretty spun sugar writings aren't enough to save a story.

Anyway, this buffy the slayer wanna be is introduced at the end of book one, when Cian's right hand gets killed. When I read that, I was like, "Hmmm, the first one to get killed from this happy band of brothers had to be a brother. Figures."

So Blair comes from a tribe of vampire hunters, her duty is holy, and descendants are trained, from father to son - but Blair brea More...

Book #2 in the Circle Trilogy and this series should be read in order because each of the six "warriors" are the main characters in a book and their characters, relationships and events leading to the final showdown develop throughout the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The dialogue had me laughing out loud many times. Both Glenna (witch from book #1) and Blair--two modern women--mixed their personalities with the past. Refreshing.

Blair was the " More...

Dance of the Gods is the sequel to Morrigan's Cross, which sets up the premise that the goddess Morrigan has asked six different people to unite and stand together as a circle to fight against the growing power of Lilith and her coven of vampires. In Morrigan's Cross, the setting is that of Ireland where two of the six {conveniently three females and three males, since Nora Roberts writes het romance fiction} pair off and get all-but-leg More...

This book was amazing! I could barely put it down once I started it. It had much of what I expected after reading the first in the series. I had me on an emotional roller coaster, there were times when I was laughing and loving the book then two minutes later I was mad and almost threw the book at a wall. Nora Roberts is a wonderful writer, I love how she uses Irish myths. Me being part Irish myself, I really appreciated being able to read something that put Ireland's myths into a beautiful stor More...

I absolutely loved this trilogy!

Then again, I really like Vampire lore.
Cian was my favorite guy, he was the most complex, wonderfully drawn character of the bunch. He and Moira made a wonderful pairing, my heartstrings tugged at the moments where they knew they deeply loved each other, but knew they couldn't have a life together with him as a vampire who will live forever and her as queen of an ancient world. My favorite lady was Blair, she and Larkin made a very close second More...

I really liked this story and I am a bit surprised at that.
You may be asking, "Why are you surprised?" My answer, "I am surprised because I did not like Morrigan's Cross (Circle Trilogy, book 1) that much.
Honestly, I did not expect to like Dance of the Gods, period.
I thought I would drag myself through the book.

The second in a trilogy about <shudder> vampires, this book has the warrior (Blair) and the shape-shifter (Larkin) hooking up. Blair is a demon-hunter from modern day New York, trained to kill vampires. Larkin is part of the royal family of Geall, a not-as-mythical-as-thought realm that is to be the battleground between humans and vampires. An evil queen named Lilian is trying to take over the world and thought that Geall would be a grand place to start. The gods decided that they needed t More...

I'll try to be vague, but... possible SPOILERS!
I enjoyed this book even better than the first and I can't wait to demolish the last book in this trilogy. It's like candy!
While reading the part where our Warrior Blair is alone in the forest with her thoughts near the gypsy’s wagon, it suddenly dawned on me who the storyteller might be. I'll email you my guess if you like. ;) But please don't confirm or deny... or tell me who it is. :P

I really cant say enough about Dance of the Gods or the whole circle trilogy . I have read this trilogy 4 times , its really a great Trilogy and with the way its written you feel like you are living the story . This set has everything you could want, brooding vampires, sexy vampire hunters , werewolves, sorcerers, dragons and romance .
So much goes on in these books I cant go into to much detail but if you enjoy anything to do with either magic, supernatural and paranormal you will love th More...

The circle of six moves to the next phase of their journey through the Dance of the Gods to Geall, home of Moira and Larkin and site of the next battle with Lillith, the queen of the vampires. As they prepare for the battle, Moira steps forward in preparation for her role as Queen, Blair and Larkin's relationship deepens and Hoyt and Glenna help prepare the citizens of the kingdom for war.

There is an interesting mix of battle strategizing/preparation and relationship dynamics. Larkin More...

Vampire warfare calls upon an medieval Irish sorcerer to gather a circle beyond worlds and time, Dance of the Gods brings the circle to the place of battle, to strengthen their ties that they may call others to war.

Now in an alternate world tied to medieval Ireland the unlikely six prepare in a castle of fairytale proportions, calling the people of the land to prepare for the battle of vampires charging their door step. Another romance blooms within the circle, this one less charged More...

This book I listened to on tape and at first I found the Irish accent hard to understand, but I got used to it. I have to admit I read the first in this series a year ago not knowing what type of book Nora Roberts writes. I just knew she was a popular writer and this was a book about vampires that sounded interesting. So I was a little shocked at some of the content found in Morrigan's Cross, not having expected it.

Since this was a book on tape I just skipped parts I didn't want to More...

Two thirds through this second in the trilogy... as I'm reading two other Nora Roberts trilogies/series (one with several sisters, Blood Brothers and another it seems...) (not to mention Sisters Island which I recently finished) it took me a while to figure out which one this was and sort out who was who. As is, the disadvantage of a spiral is that I couldn't go back to the first and refresh my memory. Oh well, enjoyable nonetheless.
Now I'm about to begin the third. I do think I prefer Nor More...

I am not going to review every Nora Roberts book that I have read in the past because she is quite prolific and it would get redundant and I honestly cannot remember all the plots. I think someone finds someone else attractive but at least one cannot admit it so there is sexual tension, then lots of sex, and then they live happily ever after? Sometimes there is some magic , a family legacy, or a mystery. Certainly not great works of literature (however still 100% better than “the grapes of wra More...

this was a great book! it was even better than the first in the trilogy. i loved the relationship between Blair and Larkin. they were such an adorable couple. Blair with her hang-ups about falling in love (and the possibility of that person leaving her) and Larkin having to get used to an independent woman. the development was great for the characters and the plot. there were also some really endearing love scenes and some really funny scenes as well. Larkin i have to say is probably my fav male More...

Now this was a great book - I love stories that have dragons apart of the story.

The romance between Larkin and Blair is awsome. Now that the circle of 6 has come through the Dance of Gods, they are in Geall where the battle will be fought in the valley of silence. The group - Blair, Larkin, Moria, Cian, Hoyt, and Glenna start training the army for the battle that will come on Samhain (Holloween) in the Valley of Silence.

I think the best part of this book that I love the More...

Nora Roberts is one of the only "romance novelists" that I can read, and this book is a classic example of why she has transcended that genre for me. In the first place, she limits the heavy sex scenes to approximately one a book - keeping the story interruptions to a minimum. For another, she weaves a beautiful plot in and around the romantic aspects of the story so that you really do feel like you are reading a beautifully written fantasy novel that just happens to have a sex scene More...

At times a 2nd book in a trilogy seems to exist only to bridge the more important 1st and 3rd books. Sure, it advances things from the introduction of the characters and plot to the final climax, but usually isn't as strong in its own right. Nora Roberts is such a good storyteller, though, that you can almost always to depend on to offer equally strong books in her series. Even though Blair, the lead character in this book, is not my favorite in the Circle Trilogy, I still enjoyed the suspense More...

I have been a Nora Roberts fan for quite some time now, but I must say I find this series to be disappointing. I haven't read the last book in the series yet, but I feel as if these first two books are just dragging their literary feet in order to fill up 600 pages before the big battle at Samhain, or whatever. It's dull to read 600 pages in which nothing really exciting happens. Yes, there's a skirmish here and there, but there's nothing exciting to keep me going because, well, we all know R More...

This the second book in the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts. A continuation of the first book, this book is Blaire and Larkin’s Story. It was evident in the circle of six that it would end up this way. The circle train hard in modern Ireland, with Blaire working them out. Some quick foray into the caves on the coast and saving of the captives helped in strategy. Morrigan comes to the two main characters and tells Blaire that it is time to Gaille and prepares the world for the war. They go t More...

At first I thought this was going to be better than the first, but it's not. Everything as far as love goes is just a bit too easy for the characters. None of the drama comes from the romance. A good romance novel gets its drama from both the external circumstances and the blooming love between the characters, but Roberts does not pull that off in this book. Additionally, there's a distinct homophobia in the novel (in the form of the vampire queen having a female lover and the two of them " More...

This is part of a trilogy. It was a great book after I was able to buy-in to the magic, fantasy-ness of the book. Sometimes it is a stretch for me to get absorbed if the book is too out there. (I know if you know me you are thinking, yeah right...)
However, this book and the two that follow are great action, fantasy, adventure, with love woven through. Much more a fantasy adventure book then a romance novel.

I enjoyed this second book even more than the first in the trilogy. Again, Roberts provided good character development (this is relative, of course - good for a quick, interesting pop read, but she's no Thackeray), and the lead male character in this one, Larkin, is a lively and entertaining match for the female lead, Blair. Roberts again tosses in some amusing references to films, television, literature, and the plot keeps a steady pace through all three books to the conclusion.

I decided I would re-read the Circle trilogy by Nora Roberts because it was the first time I had read anything about vampires and I instantly fell in love!

The first time around I thought these books were the bees knees. I've since read a lot of great books but my love for these will never dim.

The second book of the trilogy features Blair the warrior and Larkin the one of many shapes. We get to see both sides of Blair her tough side and her soft side after feeling like every More...
