Great concept for a book, wish I had thought of it.

This was a short book, 298 pages, so Graham missed a lot of character building because she squeezed in so much plot. Consequently, I didn't warm up to the heroine and couldn't decide what she even looked like, let alone what her background encompassed...the only reason I gave it 3.99 stars.

Obviously, this is a 1st in a new series.

The 1st chapter jumped right into building the plot. The mood is suspenseful, dark, e More...

I've been reading Heather Graham books since I started reading romance, oh so many years ago, and have enjoyed most of them. This one was no exception. However, as I was reading this book I recalled why I haven't read any of her vampire books in awhile. I always get so tense reading her vampire books because I am waiting for the bad thing to happen. I know it is there, and I just don't want it to happen. I guess in my vampire romances, I want a bit of levity and in her vampire books, there isn't More...

A red hot passion that leaves you wanting more.

Summer 1864

We meet Cody Fox, a recovering confederate soldier who has a medical degree. He’s called into an office of a Union officer, where he’s asked to go to a small town, where several brutal murders have been happening.

Then me meet Alexandra Gordon, who has dreams of a psychic nature. She can see thing that may happen. With those dreams, she returns back to the farm her father owned, to hunt for her father’s More...

Picture this- a really bad Western movie with evil vampires tying to annihilate a small Texas town, Victory. Oh yeah, it’s also a love story. Are you cringing yet? I sure was when I was reading this book.

Alexandra (Alex) Gordon comes home to Victory from Washington D.C. after learning about the death of her father. The town is constantly being attacked by vampires (only the town doesn’t know that they are vampires yet). Cody Fox comes to help out with the vampire problem in Vi More...

This book is in Victory, TX in 1864. They are fighting off Vampires. They actually go over the things that will kill a Vampire. Toward the end Alex find her father and at the end a preist through holy water on her father and he did not burn up. Which mean he was probalby never a vampire. Or half human like Cody. This book was very good.

Into vampires; this book is a tale of vampires in the old west. The intro is in a town in the old west. The beginning is set in New Orleans where we meet two of the main characters. The story then returns to the old west where the vampire tale unfolds. The characters are interesting. The story even has a who done it.

This book was so unlike any Heather Graham book I've ever read. It felt like a spagetti-western of old, but with vampires. While the actual story wasn't funny at all, I laughed in many spots where the vivid descriptions of an old shoot-'em-up were classics. Tumbleweeds rolled down the streets, stuff like that. A good story but unfortunately little magic for me.

The plot/storyline had real potential but it felt rushed, underdeveloped, and blah. Alexander Gordon was an irritating character but Cody Fox seemed to be somewhat developed and mysterious character that I enjoyed reading. I expected more but was disappointed.

A bit cheesy but definitely steamy. Gotta say I like the characters and wish the story had been slightly more developed in terms of backstory ,

The end fight was a bit anticlimactic and the villainy was by rote but still enjoyable for a light "horror" before Halloween.

I did not finish this book, far to much dragging for me. I refuse to give books I don't finish a rating. That is not fair for the author. The vampire legend just wasn't developed enough for me. It was almost a boring read. The conversations were just dull. I just didn't connect.

Heather must have written this one very quickly. Had little substance and plot. Read about half of it then skipped to the end and figured out I missed nothing in the middle.

This rarely happens, but I couldn't get into the story. And I don't know why. It was about Cowboy Vampires, I should have loved it.
