I like that the author is trying to distinguish "mean" behavior, but I wish the message of the book wasn't necessarily about sharing or "bossiness," but rather about "leadership skills" for girls. I'm tired of girls being called bossy when they have a strong personality, it's an annoying trait of children's books.

Katie spends a day at the beach being obnoxious and awful to her friends, her friends don't like it. The end. Certainly easy-to-read, but not pleasant to do so.

Yay! A multicultural easy-reader written by white people.
