I don't know if Demon Possessed marks the third and final book in an urban fantasy trilogy or if the original three-book arc of the Megan Chase series is a stepping stone for further development of these characters. Okay. So, I'm totally not a crier. I don't cry at movies or books or TV shows or anything. That said, this book made me all teary-eyed. Dammit. I received this book as part of Pocket Books Sci-Fi Blog tours. It is the third in a series but I had not read the prior books. Even having not read the other books I had no trouble following this story and enjoying it. Demon Possessed is Book 3 in the series, starts off with a visit from a FBI agent who wants to bring down a few of the demons & their nefarious schemes & for Megan to be a whistle blower. This book is the third in the Megan Chase series. I was hoping that this was a stand alone book since I had not read the other two books. I feel that you really need to read the first two to really start going on this book. It was a bit confusing at first, but as the book went along it became a fast read. Ok, I know I'm the odd man out (apparently the only man to have read this book) in this opinion, but... I read a lot of urban fantasy. Jim Butcher to Kim Harrison to Vicki Petterson. I enjoyed this series - until this book. This was a satisfying conclusion to an end of series. I love how the author didn't make the heroine's decision easy, especially the ones having to do with her Demon Lover, Greyson. As always, in the end the heroine does not what she wants to do but what she has to do to save the lives of many. If that opens up the door to make her other decisions a little easier than so be it.

The title Demon Possessed has a double meaning. On the surface, it seems to refer to the book’s murder-mystery plotline, which involves several characters who may or may not be possessed by demons. WOW....I LOVED it....could not put it down. I really hate that this is the end of the series. It is sooo bittersweet. I just got such a kick out of all the characters. I don't think there was one I didn't like ~ except the bad ones of course.
This book will definitely pull at your heartstrings. Both Greyson and Megan are heartbreaking and even though I didn't cry {for once}, it definitely got me teared up!

The last in the Megan Chase series is the best by far. The right amount of action, intrigue, and romance. I found myself laughing out loud a couple times and teared up at others. This book focuses on Megan and Greyson's relationship and it is rough. One of my favorite things about Kane writing is her ability to write characters that you would normally dislike, who make a lot of bad choices, but you still root for. This book was fun to read, but more so for the drama with Megan and Greyson. At the beginning they are very happy, so that just means that something is bound to stir things up with them. The surprising thing is that the conflict comes from themselves and their inability to talk to each other. This leads to some really great fights with interesting consequences. The Demon aspect of the story was just so so. But as always with this series the brothers antics bring some great comedic scenes.

I seriously hate lag-time between releases! ;-) I'd forgotten how much I enjoy this series, and this one is the best yet. It's rare to find Book 3 in any series even better than the earlier ones... somehow whatever made them unique to begin with starts to feel ordinary. Not the case with Stacia Kane's latest. The intensity is stronger than ever, the danger as real, the decisions as life-changing. How long till the next one, Stacia???
