This is a size acceptance erotica novel. My first, and it was a treat. Lily is an interior designer at a furniture store. She is also a plus-size woman, who is very pretty and voluptuous. Unfortunately, she thinks she is fat and ugly, because she is a size 16. So she is dealing with low self-esteem and size-acceptance issues. The hero of this novel, Travis, used to be one of her best friends when they were kids. But his mom died when he was 10, and he distanced himself from Lily, which made her...more

I had the feeling to have read a similar story ten times over, except usually it had been better.
A brief summary could be : a jerk hunk rich womanizer realizes the sexiness of his childhood friend, who is highly insecure because she's plus-sized. She did not have more personnality characteristic than being a plus-size, with a big heart (can we get more cliché!) and protective about her younger sister (yes!). He's a brilliant architect whose loft was in all magazines; however they decide to buy n...more
Wicked Incognito Now
I chose this book to read because it was on someone's Amazon listmania list of erotic romance with a good plot. Beth Kery's Wicked Burn and Megan Hart's Dirty were both on that list, so I assumed the list author must have similar reading tastes as I.

No.

Very early in the reading I was put off by the writing. Scenes were choppy. Dialogue was unrealistic. But then I learned to there were male twins switching places to "fool" the heroine? OH NO! Please no.

It turns out that the heroine wasn't fooled,...more

Lily Ellis was best friends with Luke and Travis Carson when they were young. When the twins mother died Travis Carson started hating and ignoring Lily. Luke remained her best friend but that is all Luke was a friend. Lily loved Travis and couldn't understand why he hated her. Years of ignoring and hurting Lily on Travis's part slowly built an inferiority complex in her when it came to Travis. Time has past and they are all older, Lily is still has a crush but is resigned to never getting Travis...more

When I decided to read this book with my reading partner, Laura, I figured I had a 50/50 shot of this being a potentially hot book about a real woman with a real body or this being a really bad book with fat girl porn.

I hoped for the first.

I was sad when it was the latter.

Lily is a size 16. Which, tbh, is normal. It’s probably not the best body ever. But it’s not as if she needs help getting through a door. But according to both her, and the hero in this story, Travis, she might as well weigh 50...more

Let's make this 4 1/2 stars. I hope I'm not cheating by including the goodreads description ... Lily Ellis has curves -- soft, beautiful curves. Her adventure begins when the demure San Francisco interior decorator agrees to model a plus-size dress for her fashion designer sister. I loved this story and I could so relate to Lily's insecurity about her body image and of finding love. There were some funny moments too that left the hero, Travis questioning his manhood that had me chuckling. I really enjoyed the friendship and sibling relationships portrayed throughout the book. Lily has secretly loved Travis ever since they were young kids, but the loss of Travis' mother pushed him away from her since he didn't want to appear weak to her. Lily has always felt inadequate and...more

Once again, this called to me from the public library bookshelf. My first read from Ms. Andre and it was very enjoyable. I have a few of her other writings on the TBR - will have to get to them.

"Travis is lucky to have even gotten to be with you once, especially after the way he's treated you. You are an incredible woman, and it's up to you to show him that he's going to need to treat you really well if he wants you to be with him ever again. And this is how you are going to do it: You are going

Lily's sister, Janica, is a dress designer and needs Lily to model one of her designs in a dress show. Lily agrees, but needs reinforcement and support from her best friend, Luke, who happens to be Travis's twin. The brothers have always traded places and Luke sends Travis to the fashion show to support Lily. Lily has always been able to tell the brot...more

Okay so I didn't hate it, but I really didn't love it either.

It was a relatively easy read, but I had issues with both the H and h. Travis is a guy that has only ever had casual sexual relationships, and only with size 2's and Lily is a pushover that's a size 16. They have know each other since childhood but Travis has purposefully been avoiding Lily since they were 10. On a night where Lily is helping her sister out by modeling some of her plus size designer clothes lone, Travis sees her and f...more

Travis & Lilly... My, my, my... Wish there was a 6th star that I could award for this story!? This is one of Bella's more "straight forward" novels in the sense of "a-spade-is-a-spade" :D.

It had everything in it that makes an EXCELLENT erotica-romance story.. There was Wicked moments, Giggling moments.....and Awww jeeez moments, I just couldn't stop reading once I started.

Lily and Travis are smoking hot together. I did get a bit tired of Lily's lack of faith in Travis's desire and love for...more

Lily Ellis has always looked out for her baby sister, Janica, especially after their parents died in a car crash. She used to be friends with twin boys, Travis and Luke, up until their mom passed away. Travis pulled away from them and Luke became her best friend. Many years later, Janica has become a clothes designer and she needs a plus sized model. Knowing that her sister will be there to support her, she asks her sister to do that favor for her. Lily, who always preferred to be invisible, aga...more

I absolutely loved this book. I could easily relate to Lily’s dilemma regarding her weight.

Lily Ellis is an interior designer who is very voluptuous at size 16 and has been in love with her best friend’s brother. And believe that a gorgeous guy like Travis would never be attracted to someone like her.

Travis Carson, is hot and equally gorgeous twin brother of Luke, Lily’s best friend who has this ridiculous standard when it comes to women... a standard that Lily doesn't even come close to. Arhg...more

I like reading about curvey woman as I am one. I do understand that sometimes curvey woman do not have the best body image. There were times that was the soul focus of the book.

I read the sequel to this first - Love Me. I was so intrigued by Lily and Travis in that book that I wanted to know more about how they ended up together. I was NOT disappointed.

I really loved the story and premise of Take Me. I liked the idea that once Lily felt sexy in her body then she was sexy to Travis, no matter her body image. Plus they had a backstory which made the attraction between them more plausible. This isn't a relationship between two strangers.

The sex scenes were explicit -- mor...more

Isn't it great when we find a heroine who is based on the norm?! Lily is a beautiful woman who has never put herself first and just so happens to not be a size 2, but that doesn't matter to those who love her. They are able to see her for who she truly is, but the problem is that she cannot. She has always loved Travis yet his wild ways have hindered her from ever following her heart. That all changes when her little sister needs her and Lily does as she always does and helps her out. Lily, to m...more

Take Me by Bella Andre is one of the best books I probably have ever read! I have to say I feel like I am cheating on my other favorite writers, saying this! Take Me is the story of Lily a woman in her 30's who is a size 16!! She has always wanted to not be a wallflower but has been to scared to take a chance and stand out. One day she is at her younger sister's Janica's fashion show. Janica's is starting her own fashion line. Janica is worried since her plus size model has not shown up. She beg...more

Without a doubt this is one of my all time favorite books and characters. Take Me has a great storyline with the heroine in love with the hero since she was a little girl. Finally seeing Lily capture the drop dead gorgeous Travis was scorchingly erotic. I devoured this book and have since read it several times. Not only do I have it in paperback but also for my Kindle. The sex was hotter than hot and I loved the emotional connection between these two. It was off the charts. I've read thousands o...more

I'm a bit of an Andre fan, and picked this up to check out some of her early work. This was not as erotic as some of her other earlier stories; but it was quite steamy, nonetheless. The story was enjoyable enough, but Travis turning over a new leaf almost overnight after being such a cad defied logic. Lily I couldn't connect with at all. I liked the thought of the plus-sized woman finding love, but Lily had a whiny edge to her; and her masochistic insecurities lasted right up to the end of the b...more

Bella Andre

Bella Andre has a knack for writing love stories that are passionate, realistic, sexy, and sensual. The love scenes definitely added to the character development and story line. I loved Lily and fell in love with Travis right along with her. She was so bold and daring in an alluring and teasing (a good thing in this case) way that reminded me of myself! It's definitely a book that I have highlights in... I recommend it!

Nothing beats the odds in finding your place here on Earth unless you yourself had finally acknowledged your strengths and weaknesses.

With Travis accepting the fact that he had quite a few shortcomings which brought about the realization of what he was missing his heart became at ease in welcoming this new sensation brought about Lily.

With Lily having a mindset that she's fat and is satisfied with Luke and Janica's love and company she has eventually blocked other people in getting into her an...more

I’m not sure what to say about this one. It started out great, but Lily’s ‘games’ got to be too much and I found myself resenting her and hoping that Travis would call it done and move on. I enjoyed it enough to keep reading because I was hoping it would get better, and will definitely move on to the second book, Love Me. That said, I can’t really say I loved this book enough to read it again or to care about the happily ever after that I’m not completely convinced is happy or ever after. But it...more

This is a smutty story with plot which is what I like. So why 2 stars? It's kinda hard to say since this book should have hit all my buttons in a good way but instead I found it rather 'ehhhhh'. It all felt forced and rather cookie cutterish. I think it's more to do with the characterization. I just didn't really 'feel' for the leads before they had sex and I never really felt for them afterwards either. I really thought that Lily had some ridiculous shrill moments and that Travis came off more...more

My first book by Bella Andre was The Look of Love, the first in the Sullivan series. I didn't enjoy it that much (I'm not a huge fan of love at first sight stories so that turned me off) and I nearly decided to stop reading the series. I'm glad that I didn't because I've really enjoyed the later books and have read a few of her others, namely The Bad Boys of Football series and have also enjoyed them.

Take Me had all the great makings of a book and it was so close to coming together but just fell...more

Lily is an interior designer who is very voluptuous at size 16. She has tried to always be invisible because she thinks as herself as not good enough. Her sister asks her to fill in as a model for her plus size fashion line. Lily agrees but feels very insecure so she asks her best friend Luke to come and support her. Luke gets called in to the ER so asks his twin brother to go for him. Begrudgingly Travis accepts and becomes overwhelmingly attracted to Lily as he sees her in a dress that hugs he...more

I said it once and I’ll say it again – I am a massive Bella Andre fan and her books take me to my happy place every single time but this is definitely my favourite. I just love when a less-than-perfect heroine gets the sexy guy, it just feeds my hope that not all hunks go only for size zeros.

Lily is a real woman with curves who sees herself as fat while everyone else sees her as beautiful and sexy. Her body image issues prevent her from believing that a gorgeous guy like Travis could ever be att...more

This overpriced book was horrible. I was so disappointed with both main characters in this story. Lily who is overweight, has low self esteem, extremely naive and pretty much a doormat is a bad representation of what a plus sized heroine should be. She was too stupid beyond words when it came to Travis.

Sigh...Travis was a jerk and pathetic. He was such a wishy-washy character. He married the woman and then was ashamed of her in the next paragraph. He didn't deserve Lily. At the end of the book,...more

Tropes can be an awesome thing. Often they have a negative connotation, but realistically, they allow a reader an immediate yes-no understanding of what devices a certain book uses that may or may not suit a readers taste. I love tropes. The book Take Me uses all my favorite tropes. I did not, sadly, love the book.

The characters, frankly, sucked...kind of. The unsatisfactory acquaintance I had with these two leads is a bit surprising, considering they did lend come across as somewhat more realis...more
