A great ending to what I consider a 3 book series. This book picks up where Heartsong left off. Melody is off to LA to find her mother. Through many twists, turns and learning about the real-world, Melody gets the answers she's desperately looking for. They just might be not the ones she wants.

The character really develops into a brave young woman throughout the book, and she finds one secret after another. Just when you think you know all there is to know, 20 pages before the book ends comes a...more

Well...mmmm, what can I say? I enjoyed the book solely for the scenery and sub characters.
As for Melody? ya know the sweetest gal who would do just about anything for anyone? well I wanted to slap her an awful lot!
Nobody can be so naive and stupid that many hours in a day? As for her selflessness attributes? I couldnt find them? she just did what most of us half decent women would do If we had the mental and physical strength of a flea! and when a cheuffeur is sadly speaking of his deceased fa...more

THIS SERIES CLEARLY WAS MY FAVORITE BY FAR. I WAS REALLY THINKING THAT LAURA WAS ALIVE ALL OF THIS TIME IN THE MENTAL INSTITUTION. TO SEE JUST HOW FAR OLIVA WENT WAS DOWN RIGHT CRUEL. I FELT SHE HAD NO RIGHT TO TRY AND CONTROLL EVERYONES LIVES THE WAY SHE DID. AT THE END OF THIS BOOK I FELT LIKE IT HAD AN EARLY CONCLUSION OF HOW MELODY AND CARRIE WHERE GOING TO LIVE THERE LIVES. I FELT THAT THE "LOGAN"SERIES WAS BROUGHT TO AN EARLY END. BUT I GUESS IT MADE ROOM FOR "LAURAS" STORY AS WELL AS OLIV...more

Heart Song was a bit plodding, but fortunately the action picks up in this book. Melody gets the answer to her long sought-after paternity after finding out that her mother isn't dead after all. This book isn't the best, but it's still pretty good at a solid 4/5 stars. Several deaths spot this book, but they feel rather convenient in the scheme of the plot, so this read is a bit light compared to previous series, and nowhere near as exciting as the Dollangangers, Casteels, or Cutlers. Still, thi...more

This was the first V.C. Andrews series I read before going back to read all the other ones, so this will always be my favorite series. I loved the central character, loved the story line, loved the location and setting. I loved everything about this book and the books in the series. The only problem I did have was that the step back covers of the book do not accurately portray Melody and the other characters as according to the descriptions in the text. Other than that, this series is close to m...more

I loved this series, and had a fairly good understanding of the characters. It was predictable, as most of Andrews' books are but it didn't make it none the less entertaining. What through me off most, however, was the ending. The way it was concluded left me believing that the next book, Music in the Night, would be the final conclusion to the series. However, when I discovered that it was actually about the incident with Melody's late cousin, I was taken aback and a bit upset for a while that...more

VC Andrews has always been a favorite of mine since my childhood days. I have read (and re-read) all of her books, and although I am much older now and find that some of her work is better than others, I still enjoy the twists and turns, strangeness and mystery that continues to captivate my interest. (even some of the ghostwriter's work)

I loved this one Melody was such a sweet girl and would do anything for anyone. Was a great follow on from the last book.

Melody's mother is a selfish, childish BLEEP, after finding out the truth about everything that her mother did I would have disowned that woman and forget about her, how anyone can abandon their own child with strangers to pursue her own selfish desires is beyond me, WHOOOO, overall the book was good but geez it was still sick and cold what her mother did.
Charlene
it was kinda weird and i didnt qiute get wat was going on it was graphic!!!

Seemed rather confusing to me. Perhaps because I haven't read any of the other book in this series.

When I see this book in mu bookshelf, I Always wonder how I can even finished reading it :D
I guess I didin't have anything to do back then.
Well, that's the only explanation...
Cliche and soap opera.
No wonderfully described character.
And why do I picked it up at the first place?
Well, the cover looks different
False hint :(

This is the book i borrowed it from my MOTHER's FRIEND. I finished the whole series within a short period coz it was very interesting to find out the secret of LOGAN's family. The one you predicted from the clues is totally different in another subsequent book.

I was obsessed with the Logan series but I dont like the way it ended really. Also she endured so much sorrow i wanted to read on about her happiness after the storm & her and Cary... They should have had a wedding & a honeymoon, i think.
Lauren
This was probably my favourite book of the series so far. It was nice to see Melody act in a responsible manner without putting herself in so many inherently dangerous situations with no consequences.
Christina
Maybe the books were not what they used to be or maybe I finally grew up but I stopped reading Ms. Andrews' (although by this series she had been dead for a bit)books after this series.
