I just won this on Goodreads. Yeah! I'm so excited. I look forward to reading it.
Updated:
This book is a good reference book on basic principles of the LDS faith. It lends it self to using Biblical references to proving Mormonism and the Book of Mormon.
This book is a good choice if you have family members or friends who are not of the LDS faith and you would like to help them understand some of the basic principles. My husband read it also and he said this bo More...

Okay, before my friends on here are shocked out of their seats by this post, let me explain myself!!! No I am not considering a change in my religion. I won this book from Goodreads First reads, and I signed up for it first because it was a FREE BOOK! and also because I have read some slanted books about fundamentalist Mormans so I thought this would give me a view into the Mormon Church today. Plus, I love to read about other cultures, countries and religions too. After having read "Under t

This is an excellent book for all those wishing to know how the Mormon’s beliefs are biblically based. The author has an in-depth and thorough knowledge of the Bible as well as the LDS faith and clearly explains our beliefs each chapter. Careful research and study has gone into the writing of this book. It is thought provoking and full of information.
I was impressed with the thorough knowledge the author had of questions or misunderstandings many More...

In his introduction Christopher Mills clearly states that he is not an official representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his work is for the express purpose of explaining to members and non-members how to “understand Latter-day Saint beliefs . . . from a Biblical standpoint.”

It has long since been rumored that Mormons don't believe in the Bible, that they created a book of scripture all their own and don't subscribe to the teachings of Christ as taught by other denominations. This belief has led to a lot of arguing and miscommunication. The fact of the matter is, Mormons do believe in the Bible, very much.

I recently discovered a great little book that deserves to be in every home, LDS or otherwise. The Holy Bible and Mormonism, by Christopher Mills also deserves to be near the top of every Church teacher’s pile of reference books. I'd keep it within easy reach when teaching teenage family home evening discussions, too.
This book does not cause offense to other religions in any way. Neither does it set out to prove anyone right or wrong. However, Christopher Mills does explain in clear an More...

Both my Goodreads friends and just about everyone I've met through them are Mormon. I am not. Winning this book from Goodreads Giveaways was a great way to learn more about my friends' values and beliefs while taking a closer look at LDS from the perspective of someone who was raised as a Roman Catholic.
Its a small paperback, just over 200 pages, but I took a few days to read it. Switching back and forth between bible quotes and the discourse that the author addresses to the reade More...

I entered the contest for this book at first out of curiosity. I wanted to know what kind of LDS book would come from such an apparently "grassroots" source. I mean, aren't the general authorities of the church the only ones that write this kind of thing? Well, that was obviously a misconception. Christopher Mills has done a wonderful job in this book explaining, as he might as a missionary teaching someone about our church, our stance on a number of biblical issues, including fait

This is a great little book that would be an asset to any home. Mills quotes passages from the Bible to explain Latter-Day Saint beliefs. He uses easy to understand language to discuss topics such as baptism, the nature of God, temples, eternal marriage, prophets, and more. He does this in a straight-forward and non-argumentative manner.
Mills doesn't aim to prove any other religion wrong, only to explain what the Mormons believe using familiar scriptures from the Bible. This book wou More...

A great book to find out where in the Bible it discusses the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I was a Goodreads First Reads winner! My thanks to Christopher Mills for the free copy of this book.
I was very impressed with the knowledge of the bible displayed by the author in this book. It is clear he is well-studied and knows his stuff.

A person's faith and belief is quite often dear to the heart, or at least it should be. So when we start to talk about religion, especially about specific tenets or doctrines pertaining to those beliefs, it is very easy for a person to get defensive.
I have participated in those difficult conversations before. Tempering the passion felt, and channeling the energy of the dialogue into a positive learning experience can be very challenging. Feelings often get hurt. Any two people of dif More...

Won a "first-reads" copy of the book and look forward to reading it!
Update:
Great read. The book plays out as its title would lead you to believe. What follows is a nice collection of Biblical references which provide support for the ideas and doctrines contained in the Book of Mormon; and subsequently in the LDS church.
If read with the hope to gain understanding of things beyond our selves and of more importance than mere self-oriented desires, scri More...

The Holy Bible & Mormonism is an excellent book that speaks about Mormonism and a good amount of things within the religion, using Bible verses and passages to help uphold our beliefs and show that we are indeed Christians.
Christopher Mills touches base with most of the problems that other Christian religions have with the LDS church, starting with the pre-mortal existence of man and ending with additional and missing scripture, explaining and sustaining Mormon beliefs and practices. More...

A very interesting book with extensive scriptural evidence from the Bible supporting basic tenets of the Mormon religion and a great reference guide. Thanks to Christopher Mills for the review copy. My dad skimmed through parts of it one Sunday, and I'll be passing it onto my grandmother next.

http://www.goodreads.com/book/explore# I won this book from Goodreads giveaways. Just started and Hope to finish in a week or two. I read the first chaper and 1/2 I like the first chapter. I liked it so far. It uses the alot of bible verses. In the First chapter it tells about the devil coming to earth.
I have read half the book
The book trys hard to show how the bible relates to topics. I think for someone who is in to reading bible books. This book would be ok. I am more int More...

I have been looking for a book like this for awhile. I know that to know that Mormonism is true you have to believe in the Book of Mormon, which I do. When talking to those who do not have our believes it is nice to reference our believes with the Bible. I found this book very helpful and plan on refering to it as I discuss religion with by Boyfriend. This book was an answer to my prayers.

I thought the author did a fantastic job of demonstrating the differences between the Mormon faith and other Christian faiths. He also showed quite well what Biblical scriptures have led to those beliefs. I found the book an enjoyable and informative read.

I won this book, and the author seemed really gracious, as he had to send it out twice (the first time it didn't make it to me). I haven't read it through to see if all the doctrine he explains is sound, but it seems he makes a good attempt at it. This doesn't seem like a book you sit down to read, more like a reference book - but a nice one to have on hand.

This book was well organized and insightful. It presented the ideas and comparisons in an easy to follow format. I really enjoyed learning some of the views and supports that people outside the Mormon faith have. The author helped me to better understand my own religion and how I can help others to understand that my beliefs are founded in the Bible.
