Not as bad as I thought it would be...in fact, except for a few chapters/scenes that were way beyond my comfort level, this was a pretty good book.

It's also the most difficult to review. It was obvious to me from the first book, Sweet Surrender, that under all the charm Micah oozed with the women, it was a mask from a past he wanted to forget. Now it's easy to see how and why he didn't form strong, emotional relationships with women and that it was just about sex. In a fatal car accident, Micah lost his wife (Hannah) and best friend (David). How do you overcome such loss? For Micah, it was moving to a new state, forming a new life with new friends and mindless kinky sex. And let me say for the record that out of all of the men, Micah is the one that brought with the kinkfest!

Meet Angelina (David's little sister)who arrives back in Micah's life, all grown up. Angelina is now a beautiful, voluptuous woman who by the way has loved Micah for years and is determined to make him her's in any capacity. Once Micah gets through the initial shock, and boy is it a shocking moment when they meet again, he is in a battle with himself being aroused and disgusted over his attraction to "David's little sister". Angelina is a strong woman. She became my favorite of all the women in the series. She knows exactly what she wants and has no fear going after it. Angelina and Micah both "own" their eccentric sexual nature. Angelina longed to submit to Micah in every way and when the sexual relationship began with the two, Micah made it clear to her that sex was all he could give her. Micah was a "taker". He took and he pushed Angelina to the absolute extreme, emotionally and physically and gave nothing in return.

The only part that I didn't care for in the story was the 5-way that was 36 freakin pages long! It was hardcore SM/BDSM and it was a little hard to swallow (pun intended)all that Angelina submitted to physically/mentally from that encounter. She didn't waver or complain because her mindset was pleasing Micah but it was a little extreme for me. I was wore out for her and felt like she needed a hell of a lot of alcohol and muscle relaxers to get over that kinkfest! (And let's just say that Micah made Damon look like a kitty cat!) The story, beyond the kink, was very well engaging with a twist from Angelina's past that comes to haunt her. In the end Micah was able to let his strong guard down, put his demons to rest and love again.

Micah's epiphany:

"He stared back down at her face. This....this was what love looked like. Vulnerable, yet strong. Constant, unwavering. She'd fought her way back to him. She was beautiful inside and out. She was his and only his."

This book was intense! INTENSE! The entire book was heart shattering, blood gushing, skin tingling erotic.

Sweet Temptation is a story about Micah and Angelina.

This book is filled with mystery. Despair. Doubt. Betrayal. And I loved every second of it.

I was saddened that I didn't enjoy this book more than I did. I guess I was looking for more because this was about Micah, and I love me some Micah. He was so very interesting, and showed so much promise in the earlier stories; and is the pivotal character of this series. This one just misses the mark. Instead of delving into what made him such a sexually dysfunctional bad boy Dom (his past, secrets, and angst), and his healing with the right woman; it wound up being just way over the top kinky...more I was saddened that I didn't enjoy this book more than I did. The story veered from rough sex to soap opera back to rough kinky sex. I like my smex as much as the next person, but Micah deserved so much more story wise than he was given.

Banks tried waaay too hard to try to shock the reader with this one. She does a sexy 3 way, intimate & hot; but she still doesn't understand the D/s lifestyle. When the 'climactic' scene came, it appeared out of nowhere. Here, she went straight for the titillation overkill. You just turn the page, and there it is. It was like (insert gangbanger scene here). Micah wants to prove his ownership, and it was fascinating to read the BDSM and group kinky sex, but it was so clinical. It wasn't particularly hot, and I never once got turned on the entire scene. And it went on and on for pages and pages (and pages). I started getting bored long before this scene was finally over. Every single time one of the guys got near Angel, they told her "they were going to give it to her a**/mouth/pu**y hard this time", usually while she was being whipped. It wasn't original, and has been done better. When the guy with the really big dick went for her rear, I cringed right along with her. That's one place where too big really is too big. The whole thing left Micah looking really sleazy, and the obviously manufactured sexual shock value just fell flat.

The one saving grace to the plethora of BDSM and rough sex was the last 3 way with Cole. The kinky sex and BDSM here was really hot. Micah didn't come off as the premier Dom he was portrayed to be in previous books; he was more a domineering asshole deep into SM than a Dom. He was so nice to everybody he knew except Angelina; who he treated like dirt and made have sex with all his friends. She had sex in one form or another with 7 different men in this book. That's supposed to be romantic? If I had to hear explained one more time in the book that Micah and Angelina were into the same kinks, and were two halves of the same whole; I thought I was going to scream. We get it already!! She's a bottom; and they both like the rough, kinky stuff and the pain. Then Micah did some last minute groveling, the end. Where was his character growth, his healing? It was fun to visit with all the couples and characters we've met in the other stories; that's something we've come to expect.

The sex was fairly steamy, but I was unhappy with all the wasted opportunities to tell a better story. Too much time and effort was spent on trying to titillate the reader with the group sex and BDSM scenes and not enough on the story and character growth. The quality of Banks books is hit or miss, and her growing obsession with group sex in her books is getting tiresome. (and more Colter's on the way). I still love Micah and I'm glad he got his HEA, he just didn't get a story that does him justice.

I read the latest book, Sweet Possession , of this series first, and I enjoyed it enough to pick up another one in the series. So I read Sweet Seduction next. While I didn't enjoy that as much as Sweet Possession, I was able to finish it, and it was okay. But I felt it lacked a plot. I liked that Sweet Possession had a plot to go along with the romance.

The sadomasochism in this one is way too extreme and requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, but I could appreciate the classic clichéd he-treats-her-like-shit-for-the- whole- book-until-the-last-page- when-he-figures-out-he-loves-her-and-grovels-a-bit storyline. Well...Definitely not for the faint of heart.

This is a great book where we really learn all about Micah and his angel. The sex scenes are smokin hot and you may want a fan or towel before reading it.

I must say that the blood thing is not my scene but it was done very well and even though im not into it i still thoroughly enjoyed. Same goes for the fivesome / group gang-bang? Not my thing but was written very well and was hot as all hell.

I've been in love with Micah since Sweet Surrender and felt like this book did not do him justice. This book turns the ever flirty, fun Micah into a raging, depressed and gloomy tyrant. Hated this book. Nothing sweet or tempting about it.

I like to have some romance and love in my erotica and this one just didn't have it. Perhaps it's a matter of personal preference and lifestyle choices, but I just cannot see how love can exist with someone as dominant and messed up as Micah. I also think that Angelina nees to have her head examined as well.

I had been looking forward to hearing Micah's story ever since he was mentioned in the other books. Banks' Sweet series is an interesting series since the books intertwine so much. You have a large set of main characters that are used in all the books, and she ties up the loose ends of the relationships in earlier books in the next one. So I already knew a lot about Micah, and was really excited to hear more about his past, and to see him find love.

Unfortunately, this book was a big disappointment for many, many reasons. For one, I thought the sex scenes were terrible. I want to go on record by saying that I have no problem at all with BDSM or really explicit sex. I read lots of erotic romance, along with quite a bit of menage and BDSM (along with mainstream romance!). In this particular book, the sex scenes seemed to get close to what I'd consider pornography. Not because they were explicit or about BDSM, but because they seemed to go on and on and have little to do with the core romance. The sex didn't really contribute to the story, and I actually found myself skimming pages and pages of sexual description. And what could have been hot, had Banks included more of the emotions involved, was not much of a turn-on. Plus, this particular BDSM was very degrading. In most of the BDSM I've read, the submissive individual has lots of power in his/her own right. In this one, the character of Micah becomes almost distasteful, which is not a good thing in a romance, erotic or not. You have many sex scenes that all about hurting the main female character, or simply about satisfying the male. How is that about the romantic relationship?

I have a feeling I know what Banks was trying to do. I *think* she was trying to set Micah apart from a previous character in the Sweet series, named Damon, who also likes BDSM. Perhaps she wanted to underline his deep turmoil by making the sex especially harsh. Unfortunately, I think she ended up turning the reader away from the hero. While all heroes have flaws, Micahs became much to overwhelming. You can't forgive the kind of flaws she created by dedicating a short number of pages at the end to an apology.

Note to Ms. Banks: Learn the definition of the word "rape". At one point Micah goes on and on about how he "raped" or practically raped the main character. Really annoying. There is no such thing as a "sorta rape". There were no rape scenes in this story, so why is the character going on and on about rape? I'm a stickler for using that term appropriately, and it made me very angry at the writer that she used the term the way she did.

Simply put, much of this book is bad BDSM porn. Which is unfortunate, since Banks did a wonderful job with BDSM in Sweet Persuasion, which tells the story of Damon and Serena. Clearly, Banks can do a good job with BDSM. But I think in this case, she tried to step it up a notch and failed miserably. Since I've already read Sweet #5, I'm looking forward to Sweet #6 and hoping that Banks gets back on track and makes things work again. Why is this series so uneven?(less)

If you haven't read the 3 previous novels within the "Sweet Series," I can somewhat understand your beef. Paying for a book you don't understand or enjoy the subject matter, can be extremely disappointing & frustrating. However if you did read the 3 previous ones, you should have been forewarned regarding the walloped of a punch from Micah's INSATIABLE Story. What in the world did you expect? The other novels were risqué and pretty damn, sexually intense.

You're reading Romantica aka Erotic Romance Novels, HOT explicit sex, graphic language, some violence, a COMMITTED Ménage a trois/quatre, etc., if you're lucky >;o)~~~~~ , and some back-door lovin', is PRETTY MUCH A GIVEN!

It wasn't like you were reading a 300 - 700 page Historical Romance Novel, knowing full-well the hero/heroine doesn't fall madly in love with each other until half-way through or NOT even until the very end of the book. With its GRADUAL process of word-fencing and an EXUBERANT amount of COMPRESSED SEXUAL TENSION before they ever have "WILDLY HOT MONKEY SEX!"

After the erratic up and down movement of my happiness level with this story, I decided on 3 stars. There was a time where I couldn't take it anymore I had to skip the scenes because of too much blow jobs. If I set aside the super kinks, then this has a decent, conflicted and emotional love story.

Let me just say that this brand of BDSM, spanking, and other kink was too extreme for me. Candle waxes and little to no-aftercare from whipping just bothered me. I couldn't stomach the scenes where Micah let 3 other men fuck Angelina, I was willing to read it at first but when I thought they were finished they were starting up again. Sure the author presented that Micah is proud of her and wants to show his possession, but the things they did to her were more of porn gangbang. I did not like it one bit. I skipped the messy parts and anal that seems too uncomfy.

Angelina loved and yearned for Micah for years and in her own way she strived to be the woman she needed, even though he fought his attraction and lust for her. To him, she's still the 16-year-old sister of his dead best friend, like she never grew up in his eyes. It's obvious that Micah was tormented and someone just needs to whip his ass and see the good thing right in front of him, living flesh and blood, someone who wants him unconditionally. Unfortunately, she has a stalker (I surmised too late but I guessed who the culprit was), and he followed her to Houston.

I mentioned the parts I hated, now I'll mention the ones I love - Faith, Serena, and Julie's friendship and how they welcomed Angelina though they started on the wrong footing. How tender Micah is when he wants to be (I still hoped he'd give her more oral attention when it comes to sex, she deserves it), how he realized what a dumbass he's been and how he wanted to grovel and make up for all the time lost and the hurt caused (now that actually rhymed!)

I appreciate the suspense in here by the way, it was written flawlessly and it makes the danger more exciting in a thrilling way because at least Micah could be the caveman, I also like how he submitted.

Though I was a little disappointed in this one, I'm currently reading Connor's story "Sweet Possession" and I'm amused 'cause he's the most vanilla of them all.(less)

Another book recommended to me by Miss Sparkybearsy and I must feed her chocolate for it! This was a case of coming to the series late and being able to read 4 books back to back and I did just that! Since this is labelled as an erotic romance, I actually found this book very disturbing. It was way, way too harsh for me. In my opinion there was no romance between the characters. Only a blind, raging lust on the hero's part, and the heroine's willingness to do anything to satisfy him. Just to fulfil him so he'll keep her in his life.

SWEET TEMPTATION is a superbly written, sensual story with a strong hero and heroine. Throughout the Sweet Series, Micah has always been one of my favorite characters. You could always tell that there was something deep lurking beneath his happy-go-lucky façade. In SWEET TEMPTATION we get to see what Micah’s been hiding from. I totally bought into him as a character and I understood the issues he had with suddenly being confronted with his painful past and the things he wanted to forget. I also understood Angelina’s hurt and bitterness of being left by Micah after she had already suffered such a tragic loss, but on a much lesser scale. At first, because of the way Micah thought of her, I thought she was much younger when Micah left town, but when I realized later how old she actually was when Micah left, I did do a minor eye roll and muttered get a grip. There were some moments when I thought Angelina was delusional about believing that whoever was after her couldn’t have found her so soon and ignoring the weird feelings she had. Of course, once again I recognized the bad guy the moment he/she appeared on the page, but since this wasn’t a romantic suspense, it didn’t bother me. And, I can usually pick out the bad guys anyway.

SWEET TEMPTATION isn’t for the faint of heart. The sexual scenes are scorching and there are several quatre/ménage scenes. That bothered me for some reason (beyond the obvious). I think because everything felt a little too clinical. I didn’t feel the emotional connection between Micah and Angelina like I felt between the other hero/heroines in this series. That is why I was let down a little with SWEET TEMPTATION. It also unfortunatly hit on one of my big pet peeves in romance novels with how Micah comes to realize that he cares about Angelina. I really wished Micah and Angelina had a deeper connection, because no matter how well written SWEET TEMPTATION was (and it is a great read), I didn’t believe that the two main characters were really in love with each other and could sustain a happily ever after.

Hot damn. This clinches it for me. I LOVE the tortured bad boy. Mitch is another to add to my list. I absolutely love Mitch and Angelina. His love for her is slow to show, but she's always known. In fact, she becomes another person, an almost alternate identity, in order to give Mitch what he needs. Mitch doesn't react well when he finds out what she did, but ultimately they eventually get past it.

"Sweet Temptation" took the alpha male thing to a whole new level. Angelina and Micah's love affair was very much based on the possessive - she belongs to him, she wants to make him proud, and she will do whatever it takes to make him feel that way.
