Most girls are crazy about jewelry, but not Anis Yamamoto. Not since her father gave her a rose choker as a child, claiming it was a protective amulet which would safeguard her from harm; however, if she ever took it off (a feat easier said than done!), she would be afflicted by a “punishment” of some sort. Not like it matters to her though, since the attention it attracts ...more

I really love the artwork for this manga, it's just so adorable. Which is probably why I chose to read it; I tend to lean towards pretty mangas when choosing which ones to read (shameful I know!) The storyline is slightly confusing, particularly her father's involvement, the purpose of the choker and what exactly her punishment is but it doesn't deter from the reading experience and I'm hoping it will be elaborated on in the next volume which I will be starting shortly. There are very funny bits ...more

This was one book I was seriously disappointed in. I love all things fantasy and romance, and love shoujo manga. It seemed like a book I'd love. It has all of those in it, and a great cover to boot. The synopsis made it sound like something I'd love, and would probably be the next series I collect.
Well, I'm not. And I don't love it. I barely even liked it.
The book starts out alright--the first chapter serves as an introduction to Anise's world, and introduces her knights. It's perfectly fine, as

I don't usually read harem manga but glad I decided to stick with this one. Pretty artwork and four hot guys? What's not to like?
Partly from my Amazon review, bought at Rightstuf:
WOW! I was blown away. Anise just can't remove this annoying choker that is the cause of the school administrator chasing her every morning because it violates the dress code. We are quickly shown 4 hot guys at her school, that later become her Rose Knights. When a bat-like creature swoops down from the sky and hits her, her choker falls off and is nowhere to be found. With her father suddenly coming home, what is going to happen to her since she

I traded for physical copies of the first 2 volumes of this a few weeks ago. (This just reminds me how far I am on review eBooks! Having tablet troubles the last few months, so yeah.)

I have read the first 2 Volumes, so I will be reviewing those 2 together here. I have been really enjoying this series thus far.

I do think the *White Rose* President Tenjou takes things too far - especially talking like he belongs in an erotica novel - but, I still feel like he has the best inte

Despite being cliché to the extreme, I still like it the same way I liked Shugo Chara! I don't know; I suppose that beneath all my attitude and sullenness, I have a girly side that's attracted to romance, bishies, and power to dominate bishies? Wait. Power to dominate people, even though it's bishies, doesn't seem very girly...

Anise, the heroine of the story, is tired of having to wear the strange collar her father gave her many years before with a warning that if she ever removes it, she will f

Fun, beautifully drawn and easy going.
That's what I think of this.

When I first met Anis Yamamoto I thought she was dull and boring, but as soon as the introduction was over she grew. Now I like her quite a bit.
Even if the beginning was kind of cliché I like how the story turned out with the Knights. They've all have their different personalities and you can still love all of them.
What's going on with her father on the other hand, that I'd like to know.

This series looks really promising so far and has a lot of great characters that I look forward to getting to know better. I especially enjoyed reading about Kaede & Anise and hope to see a lot more between them in the future. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Contains Chapters 1 - 5
Punishment 1: In the Name of the Rose
Punishment 2: Hello, Bashfulness
Punishment 3: White and Black
Punishment 4: The Color That Can Never Exist in Nature
Punishment 5: Find Me, Destiny!

I'm so torn by this book! Yes,the art and story are lame, and not very great, but it has that addicting quality that is usually found in this type of book. Did I enjoy it? Maybe. Am I ashamed of that? Definitely.

I picked this one up (like most of my other manga) through MangaFox.

I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much from this series. It seemed cute, but it also looked like it'd be one of those mangas that have a great idea but drag it out with overly repetitive themes. (Lather, rinse, repeat for 10-20 volumes or until it gets forcibly ended.) While there's still the potential for this series to become overly dragged out, this first volume was really fun to read.

The idea of this series is a old t

Lucky girl this Anis, she is surrounded by 4 bishounen. As expected, all with different looks (even different hair color) and personalities.

Tenjoh (White Rose) is kind like Tamaki from OHSHC: popular, rich, silly and very egocentric. Then we have Kaede (Red Rose) who is the closer in terms of friendship with Anis: both of them quarreled all the time but it is he whom she trusts the most. The 3rd one is Asagi (Blue Rose) who looks like a girl and is the most sensitive and cute. And last, Mutsuki

Recommends it for: Fellow humans in search for a harem of sexy-looking anime guys.
Alright, guys, sorry I left a long gap between the date I finished this book and the date I'm typing the review. (I've been typing a BUNCH of to-review books today and....I'm feeling a little woozy.)

So this review might be quick.

FIRST OF ALL, this is a harem. I'm already pretty sure that this story will have all of those guys having some sort of affection forgot her name)

Agnes. Yup, she'll definitely win the hearts of those people.

This story is a shoujo reverse-harem story and I absolutely adore it. Perfect heroines who forgive everyone, never get upset, and always exude peace, love, and a lack of intelligence irritate me. Anis is sassy and has multiple moments of blatant selfishness, such as wondering how she can use the four rhode knights for her own personal gain, but is still a lovely person in the end, wanting to protect her new friends.

I love the four boys and Anis's interaction with them. The story doesn't always

I simply adore the artwork in Aya Shouoto's "Barajou no Kiss, Vol. 01"! One girl + four cute guys = What's not to love. I can be so childish... The story is cute and original, not a 'cookie-cutter type' and kept my interest from page one, though if the story hadn't, the artwork would have. Very funny!

This first volume was very cute. I'm still not sure what the overall story will be about, but I love the rose knights. They remind me of the characters in an otome (and also a bit of the characters on Ouran). I definitely loved the art style. The roses are lovely!
This was a very cute 9 book manga series. Lots of fun and I really enjoyed the artwork. The plot was a bit weak in places, but I was smiling the whole time. A fun way to take some typical manga plots and elements and mash them up and turn them upside down. It was a great quick read!

Meh. A magical school girl series with pretty art and a threadbare plot. While I liked the art, the story did nothing for me.

Looks like an exciting new series for fans of shojo eye candy! It's a little tropey, maybe, but still cute and fun. Give it a try if you're looking for more of the same, rather than something avant-garde.

I’m impressed with this volume. I’m surprised, even, at how much I enjoyed it.

First of all, there are two color pages at the beginning of this volume. They are very pretty, and definitely worth checking out.

Second of all, the artwork is so pretty. It’s intricate and wide-eyed and very nice to look at. I wasn’t too sure what to expect, but I loved it. It did get a little messy during action panels, but that might just be that I was still getting used to the art. I wasn’t bothered by it, eithe

Kiss of the Rose Princess is a zany reverse harem (a girl with a stable of cute boys) featuring a young girl (the Rose Princess) and the knights that are honor bound to protect her. All of the elements of one of my favorite manga, Pretear, are here (knights, princess, conflict with the bold one, humor), and certainly the strong willed lead heroine is in the vein of Arina Tanemura's very popular magical girls. Sure, it's

reasons why i could be a great shoujo heroine:

- sangfroid. it takes a certain coolness of character to be able to accept knights vowing to serve you out of nowhere and i like to believe i would 1000% be up to the task. after all, it's quite rude to refuse that which is your due

- i am not allergic to roses. i'm not saying you couldn't be a shoujo heroine with a rose allergy -- seiran seems to be doing well enough as harem interest #4 -- but i rather think it would make the job more difficult
