Christmas Cash (Raising Caine #1)
White Hot Holidays - Christmas Cash By Maggie Casper If you can't beat him, irritate the hell out of him. Moving back home to Chaos, Texas wasn't working out quite the way Noelle had planned. The last thing she expected was a seasonal job that included dressing up as Mrs. Claus while ringing a bell for charity, but thanks to Cash McCain, she wasn't left much of a choice. C...more

A cute little short story. Still don't know why Noelle had to come home, but she's home for the holidays and needs money. Her best friend's family owns a bar, but Casey's brother, Cash, won't give Noelle a job. He'll give her an orgasm (which is confusing since they had nothing before), but not a job. So Noelle gets a job with a charity to get donations... and is ringing the bell directly across from the bar, which Cash lives above. And her outfit drives Cash crazy until he makes her cover up. I'm always leery of buying these little Quickies because they are so scattershot in terms of quality. Sometimes you get a great short story and sometimes, as is the case with Maggie Casper's
Christmas Cash
, you get a dud. I picked this one up as a freebie, and a so happy I did.

The synopsis for this book on Goodreads has confused me because it isn’t the same book that I have read, the two characters are totally different. So the following review is on the book I’ve read which is the same title, series and author!
Christmas Cash is the first story in the Raising Cain series and it is a lot of fun. The story is between Cash McCain and his sister’s best friend Noelle. Cash has known Noelle since she was really young and being 10 years apart in age, he should not be having...more

I loved, loved, loved this book! The writing was awesome, as were the characters (I especially loved Noelle), the humor, and yes, the very hot smexy times! This was a fast paced short story that totally hit the spot for me. Despite a couple small hiccups that I'll get to in a minute, I cannot wait to read the other books in this series. Or anything else Maggie Casper might write! Awesome, awesome book. All around quick, fun and hot read that I recommend.

It's a quick, light read that kept me interested.
And now for the other stuff. Some of the scenes seemed very rushed without much of any details about the surroundings. As someone who always glazes over these details, it's funny that I'm now complaining the lack of them. The conflict between the h/h was barely there, but the interaction between the two was fun and more than made up for any lack of conflict. The sex scenes have a dash of bdsm in them so er.. beware if you don't like that kind of s...more

This is the first book I've read from Maggie Casper, and I enjoyed it. I liked the characters of Cash and Noelle - they were both likable. The storyline was good, and flowed well. My only complaint with the story was that I wished the relationship would have been developed a little more. Granted, I'm not a huge fan of short stories -I prefer longer ones that build the relationships -but I felt there could have been...more.

Okay, this was a strange book. Strange as in, when I was done, I had to take a step back and wonder what was it I read. I felt that the story was all over the place, scenes felt disconnected. And I didn't get the characters - one minute, cold and the next minute, all over one another, then cold again, then kissing wildly, then cold, then in the freezer room, then...gosh, now I'm confused. The potential for it to be an amazing read was there but I think maybe it could've used a little restraint a...more
Another quick and dirty read. Being a short story, things moved quickly and I'm not quite sure why Noelle didn't go batshit crazy on Cash when he gave her a screaming orgasm out of the blue in the beginning, but... well, I'm cool with it. In the words of Amanda - the sex was nice.

Well this one was interesting. Short and to the point. Not enough time to get emotionally invested in the characters, but I kinda would have liked to. If you're in the mood for something that won't take a lot of time to read and gets straight to the point, this one will probably fill the bill.
I picked this one up as a freebie from Amazon on August 21, 2012 and read it as part of the Why Buy the Cow? Reading Challenge.

Huh. So, while I didn't exactly understand the relationship between Cain and Noelle (I usually like a little more back story), it was still a pleasant way to spend the evening. And no review would be complete without my saying: the sex was nice.

Noelle returns back to Choas, Texas where she grew up. Looking for a job she goes to Raising Cain for a job and was quickly dismissed by Cash for a job.
Noelle finds a job another at a competing bar down the street.
This story has some gramical error
Example in Chapter 4:
"Put your hand by you side" umm ain't that suppose to be your side...

Another beach read
Short novella, full of meh. I have the sneaking suspicion that this one could have been a lot more interesting if it had have been a full length. It would have given the author time to create a bit more tension between her characters - and give them a little more depth.
2.5 stars

Maggie Casper's life could be called many things but boring isn't one of them. If asked, Maggie would tell you that blessed would more aptly describe her everyday existence.
Being loved by four gorgeous daughters should be enough to make anybody feel blessed. Add to that a bit of challenge, a lot of fun and an undeniably close circle of friends and family and you'd be walking in her shoes.
