Totally wicked!!! Spindler does it again. I had only thought I was right, and boy, was I wrong! Spindler knows how to introduce her characters, knows exactly where and when to put twists in her plots. She's one author that knows how to surprise her readers, keeping them in suspense and makes you turn the page while holding your breath. At the end of the book, I was surprised, and dammit, I shouldn't have been, having read her other books, but she got me again, and does it every time! Word of war...more

I loved this novel. The complicated plot and overall craziness had me up so late it was morning by the time I managed to drag my eyes away from the intricately woven words. I loved how Spindler involved roll playing, the incorporation of RP gave it an almost fantasy feel. I also loved detective Spencer Malone. His humor and sarcasm had me laughing till the end. "Killer Takes All" is by far the best book I've read this summer.

Cheers, Grey

I want to inform that when I give a book a full score, it is because of the experience that book gave me when I read it, and it is not nesecarily the best book in the world for other people!
Anyway, this book is one of the coolest books I have read; it was exiting, kept me intersted and curious the whole time, and the plot was amazing! Pluss, it has the same characters that's in some other Spindler-books that I had read before this one, and it was wonderful to follow the characters from the star...more

I had the story figured out with about thirty pages left. I just had to wait around for the trained ex-cop to figure it out and the two NOPD Detectives to figure it out as well.

Not a bad story at all, and well-paced. Lots and lots of dialogue, so it's not all showy and no one talking. The characters are very two-dimensional, though. Cliche'd, as well. In all, this book was just for me to pass some time and have some light reading between heavier stories and thicker books and deeper characters....more

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!
"The basic story goes like this...The White Rabbit has taken control of Wonderland...Once a place where time had been turned on end, a place of maddening but benign beauty, he has turned it into a place of death and of evil...Nature turned inside out using dark magic, he controls the creatures who reside in Wonderland...Alice and her band of heros must destroy the White Rabbit...Not only saving Wonderland and it's King & Queen but the world above as well...For...more

Erica Spindler has long been one of my favourite authors and never seems to miss on writing a stay-in-your-seat, page turner!

Stacy Killian, a former homicide detective, has been notified a friend has been brutally murdered in her New Orleans apartment. Stacy believes that her friends death is related to the cult-like, fantasy role-playing game called White Rabbit. The game is dark, mysterious, dangerous, violent and very addictive.

The person playing the White Rabbit or master of the game, calls...more

Very good suspense novel with the tough ex-cop female lead matching wits with a good looking yet chauvanistic (or so we believe) detective in a book involving role playing, murder and mayhem. This was my first time reading anything by this author and I can definitely see myself reading more of her novels in the future.

This book had the right amount of suspense and 'keep you on your toes' action. Although I do like more romance in my novels, I knew going in this was not a romance and so was not...more

Last Summer my Mom and I were book shopping at a newspaper sponsored yard sale. We found this book at one of the booths and decided to buy it. The whole idea seems really odd at first, people dying because of a table top role playing game? No way! But then Spindler reels her readers in, makes them care about her characters from the lead to the suspects. Main character, Stacy Killian, is an ex-homicide detective and now a college student who gets pulled into the murders when she finds a friend de...more

As a member of the Dallas police force, Stacy Killian was exposed to more than her share of the horrors of crime. Moving to New Orleans is her attempt to pursue a quieter life. But a friend's murder plunges her back into the role that she fled, and Stacy vows to track down the killer herself. Her investigation draws her into the frightening world of White Rabbit, a fantasy role-playing game. As the bodies mount and the game is taken to the next level, White Rabbit becomes more real than life and...more

Killer Takes All begins with a bang! The action starts immediately with Stacy's neighbors being killed and she stumbles upon the scene. The cops are called and Stacy, an ex cop herself, wants to help on the case. From there on the story is more or less all about her competing with Spencer to solve the case.

Being a long time Erica Spindler fan I must say I was dissappointed a bit with this book. It is by far not one of her best! I wished the role playing game had evolved a bit more into the story...more

This is my second book by Spindler, and I gave it 3.5 stars.

The main character in this book is Stacy Killian, a former homicide detective, who has relocated after giving up her job in law enforcement. One night Stacy is awakened by a noise that she believes are gunshots. She discovers her next door neighbors dead in their apartment. She feels guilty for not being able to stop the murder since she was a former cop and lived right next door, so she decides she will find the killer herself. In her...more

Stacy Killian is an ex-cop from Dallas trying to reinvent herself in New Orleans.

She soon discovers, however, that the instincts she nurtured while in law enforcement are not a thing of the past. And when something happens right next door—a friend's murder—she falls right into her cop habits to try and solve the case.

But what a case! An online game that takes the players into the world of the White Rabbit and Alice in Wonderland soon has Stacy and the cops spinning their wheels to find out what...more

When I first picked this book up I really didn't know what to expect, however, I was COMPLETELY blown away! It's one of those books that very quickly turns into one that you just can't put down, and what I love all the more about it is how it kept me guessing. Just when I thought I'd have something figured out the script would be flipped on me.
I've loaned this book to a few people and every single person has come back to me begging to know where I got it. :)

Intriguing storyline. Personally I wasn't able to guess who the real White Rabbit was until the last couple of chapters. Both of the main characters had great qualities that had you rooting for them. Stacy has wit and attitude and Spencer is both charming and cocky - they compliment each other very well. It definitely lives up to its suspense novel genre. I look forward to reading more of her novels.

There wasn't a large amount of talk about the RPG The White Rabbit, which I found beneficial. I didn't want to spend a large amount of time on the RPG. What I was sorry was that the relationship between Killian and Malone didn't move along as quickly as I would have liked.

I had guessed the killer from close to the beginning but had no rationals as to why I chose them. I was a little sad to see I was right.

I thought this book was great. I'm not big into the gaming scene, but if you know anything about it you will be hooked into this storyline. It was very well written nonetheless I still understood what was going on and it was fascinating. There were many twists and turns that kept me interested. I highly recommend this book.

Very good book. Ms. Spindler kept me guessing the entire time. If you are a fan of mystery and intrigue this is the story for you. Set in New Orleans and containing elements of on line gaming...... this sets the stage for a diverse group of characters. Splash of romance thrown in as well. Truly a good read.

Meh...overly contrived towards the end with far too much of oh it was this person, then they die...oh no it was this person, then they die. I knew from the moment the character was introduced that it would be them...maybe I should pursue a career in police investigating. As I say...meh. Good time killer read

I love that you think you have things all figured out, you have only a few pages left and... BAM! You are totally wrong! I can't get enough of Spindler's griping twists a turns. Than you, Erica Spindler. Keep doing what you do and I'll keep buying your books.

Psychological thriller. A deadly dungeons and dragon type of game called the White Rabbit named after the characters in Alice in Wonderland puzzle the local police and an ex-police officer. The ex-police officer is drawn into the game. Who is the White Rabbit?

Erica Spindler is just a natural. One of my fave authors, this read was a real fast page turner for me.Let's just say, "I knew whodunnit." LOL 5 Stars for superb editing, as always, and interesting storyline with "deceiving players in The Game."

Although I figured out the the culprit was fairly early, there were a lot of twists and turns that kept it interesting. It's been a long time since I read the Spindler book before this, but it won't be a long time before I read the next one.

Great book!! Once I got to the game play, I had hard time putting it down - the story lead you to believe that anyone could be the killer until they wound up dead and thinking to yourself, "no, I guess; This book contained lots of twists and turns and leave you guessing up 'til the very end - would highly recommend this book!

Really liked this book because the story made you think one thing but them totaly blows your idea out of the water I love books that aren't predictable. A story about an RPG going really dark and deadly makes for an awsome read

This is the 2nd book in a series. I liked the first book and hated this one. The book centers around RPG's (Role-playing games)and I'm not one bit interested in them so I had a hard time wanting to pick this up and continue reading it. It was predictable even though the author tried to make it seem very twisted at the end.

Read this for my mysterey book club. I wasn't sure about it, as it involves a computer game, but there wasn't a lot of incomprehensible talk about gaming. The mystery was well developed with some interesting twists toward the end.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. I couldn't put it down. However, the last 50-75 pages I couldn't decide what the author was doing. It was almost as if she couldn't decide whodunit. Other than that I loved it.
Kristin
I really struggled through this book. IT wasn't awful but I had to force myself to finish it. I loved her book Forbidden Fruit. Absolutely loved it and was hoping for somthing similar to that. This certainly was not.

I actually read Killer takes all and See Jane Die backwards, but Erica made it clear enough that I understood what was going on in both books. Easy to read! Not easy to put down :)

“Hard as nails Stacy Killian was one like one of those Tootsie Roll Pops - hard shell, soft, chewy center.

Once a guy knew the center could be chewed, that's what they did. Chewed you up and spit you out. Or swallowed you, bite by bite. Goodbye respect. Goodbye self-esteem.”
