Witch Fury is the fourth and final installment in the Elemental Witches series by Anya Bast. Let me tell you, it was amazing! It was my favorite of the series.
If you haven't read the first three, that's okay. You won't have the background information on enemies and such, but it's not such a loss that you won't understand whats happening. I read book 2 first then 4(this one), and now I'm on book 3 and I can read along just fine. Mostly because each story is a new pair of main characters. But it w

Maybe not 4 stars but higher than 3.5 as well... Because it's better than Witch Heart but I think I still liked Witch Blood more.

This is the concluding novel in a quartet that started off weak but ended up strong. I disliked the first novel, but I'm glad I continued reading as the world and plot lines expanded and grew. That really kept me reading the series.

A few things I enjoyed about this novel:

For once, the hero and heroine did not sleep with each other right away. In the last three books, l

So I’ve finished Anya Bast book 4 and with it the entire series (it felt like an ending, I don’t think she could write a book in the same series though I know she’s written others)

And there was LESS sex. Still a lot of sex, but less. I was actually glad of this, I’ve always said that Anya Bast actually has a great world and a great story if she’d only cut down on all the excessive shagging. But without the endless shagging other annoyances became apparent - the tropes were annoying – big strong

I was disappointed in this story. I just couldn't get into it. I don't like Sarafina - she comes across as a TSTL female who you just want to smack. And Theo is usually my kind of hero - gorgeous, bossy, alpha. So I can't figure why I'm not liking this. Maybe it's just that there is no real chemistry between Sarafina and Theo. There was more chemistry between Sarafina and Stefan, the bad guy.

Why do all authors feel the need to put an anal sex scene in their books now? Since when is that acceptab

An okay read though there were elements in the book--mostly in the characterization of the 'alpha hero'--that I found rather irritating.

Reviewer's Note: What I'd really like to know is why 'alpha male' so often translates into unmitigated jerk.

Lots of action and excitement along with plenty of hot romance, what's not to love? Great installment in this series, definitely recommend.

Witch Fury is the best of the four Elemental Witches books. The author, Anya Bast found just the right mix of action, intrigue and romance to make the book an exciting read. Sarafina Connell has had a difficult life. Early in her childhood, her father abandoned his family. Then, at the tender age of eight Sarafina's insane mother (a religious zealot and fire witch) attempts to kill her. After her mother literally spontaneously combust, Sarafina is placed in foster care and goes to live with Rose ...more

I liked this story and it was unexpected since I wasn't really fond of Theo. A new witch is introduced, Sarafina, like Mira was unaware of her true nature as a fire witch. It started off slow but I was intrigued when Theo mistook Sarafina for a warlock.

I also appreciated the story progress and the character developments, but Theo really took a long time to let go. Sarafina adapted quite well, after the hysteria. She's one of those heroines I like because of her resilience. The demons (Atrika) to

Stefan shows her just what kind of witch they both are. During his chance to get Sarafina to join his organization of witches, another organization called the Coven breaks in to rescue another witch. It would have been helpful to have read the earlier books to have given me the world building necessary to appreciate the threads of the major storyline. Sarafina is a fire witch. She doesn't know that until she is kidnapped by a warlock (meaning a witch of any gender who has gone rogue) determined to use her power. Almost immediate she is kidnapped back by the Coven - the good witches. Theo in particular, a powerful Earth witch, captures her attention. He is tattooed with power symbols and he s ...more

This book is about Sarafina as much as it is about Theo. Sarafine is kidnapped by Duskoff International’s head guy Stefan. She is shown the world of magic and told of Stefan’s plans to have absolute power. She wants no part of it and fears she may not have a choice. Meanwhile the Coven plans a raid on Duskoff and asks Theo to help. There he finds Sarafina, who he mistakes for a warlock and takes back to the Coven headquarters to question. Soon he finds out that she was abducted and the memory of ...more

You have the usual push and pull between Sara and Theo. I love her but I’m not good for her, I love him but he breaks my heart. Blah, blah. Throw in some super hot sex scenes and that pretty much sums up the romance part. {I’m really cutting down the plot of the romance but I’d have to say Sara and Theo are my favorite couple of the series.}

There is some action pack fight scenes as well; magick being thrown around, a few be-headings.

We get to see what the other couples are up to in this final in

This is the second book I've read by Anya Bast and I loved it! The first was ok, but it got a little long and didn't really "grab" me, however this one I sped through in less than a day. I enjoyed the Coven/witch world that the author created, though at times there were quite a lot of fae type characters to keep track of, however I did jump in in the middle of the series.

For me what really makes a book is the chemistry between the hero and heroine. I thought they clicked well right away and ther

Having read the first three in this series, I tried very hard to like this one. Don't get me wrong, it was okay - but this one just seemed a tired rehash, like the author just couldn't get the same intensity. Theo and Sarafina are good characters and the plot should be exciting - hey, it's a battle to the end between the Duskoff and the Coven - but I just couldn't get into it.

Some of my annoyance was due to continuity issues - don't authors have proofreaders and editors anymore? There was one s

I really enjoyed Witch Fury and I wish it wasn’t the end of the Elemental Witch series. Everything was wrapped up nicely (maybe too nicely?) and everyone ended up with their happy endings. Well, sorta. During the ultimate battle, something does occur to our favorite researcher, Micah, and while there is a hint to his HEA, we don’t know if he for sure gets it. However, for those who want more of Micah and the other witches, Anya has posted a free story called Micah’s Magick at her website. I have ...more

I dunno, maybe it's me?
I know that the witch series is well written.
I wanted to like it more.

But, I'm not a fan of science fiction/romance.
And even though there were a few hurrah moments, I most certainly am not into gore type violence.

The romance was sexy.
The violence was gritty and hideous. I don't enjoy reading about acid like blood, red eyes, sharp rolls of teeth, and raw meat breath. It is just not pleasant.

The constant killing/kidnapping thing is just too much drama for the joy.

If yo

This one had a slightly different plot twist and the full series climax. The son of the infamous bad guy from Book 1 has made an appearance and has a fairly major role. I also liked that our heroine was accused of being a warlock. That could have gone on a bit better and longer but the idea was appealing. However, once again the romance between the man and woman were absolutely identical. Put all the sex scenes in one book and give the girl and guy all the same name and nobody would know a diffe ...more

Book 4 in the Elemental Witches series. I think this is the final book in the series, or at least this section of the series. I'm sure that the author could continue on forever with new couples hooking up without the Super Drama underlying back-story going on in this series, I mean, all the other giant series do that. The story was good but the porny sex is unnecessary, once again I was fast forwarding at those parts to get back to the main story. Otherwise it's your typical PR. If you've read a ...more

I really loved it! Glad she was able to bring Theo joy and love. Theo really needed it! I was kinda disappointed they had to kill Bai the Demon, I really liked him. Its finally great Stefan loses his magic and sent to Eudae. I was so angry that he took a lot of the Coven's magic away! And I was really not happy when Isabelle's mother lost her magic or Micah! It made me cry! But the romance was awesome and heavy! I am also happy they are having a baby in the book! If you guys like Paranormal Roma ...more

I thought this was a good book and a good end to the series. I liked how upbeat Sarafina was, it was a good contrast to Theo. He has always been an interesting characther in the series and I was glad to learn more about him. I loved the battles and the reality of where people got "hurt" in the battles, and while it was bad for them, at least they made it out alive. I loved the punishment that was vetted out for Stephan, very fitting for a man that was so evil. Can't wait to read more of this aut ...more

book 4 for the Elemental Witches series. This book was a good one. the beginning was a little lagging but good all the same.

The whole series collectively I really would give 5 stars. Anya is a wonderful writer. I will definately look for more of her books.

Just when you thought it was over.
There is one more book to this series. Micah's story. Its a short one. One that can be read in 30 minutes or less.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed with this series. Became monotonously predictable, WAY too much sex(and I like a little dirty business in my books) and not enough about the magick or character development. I like a strong woman protagonist and these witches just didn't do it for me. I think they tried but it just didn't work. Plus they were way too submissive during the sex scenes. And don't get me started on the number of times that Bast uses the word "cock"!

I didn't finish it, but not because it was a bad book. I typically enjoy stories with elemental witches, and the plot involving a good coven fighting a bad coven was an interesting one. I can't quite put my finger on why this book and I didn't connect, but it wasn't the quality of the writing. We just didn't click.

She grew up in Minnesota and still favors the colder climates. After high school she moved to the southeast United States where she attended college. While in graduate scho
