A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing *****

Deborah MacGillivray is a prolific writer, and this third book in her Sisters of Colford Hall Series is a delight. Once again she delivers characters that are so real they leap off the page, drama and light comedy diversified to an absolute delight! You will find you are crying one minute, laughing the next.
And of course, the obligatory and adorable animal menagerie. This book features a one-legged seagull among other things.
The story begins with an determined Tre

This was another dollar store purchase and I got this one because it's always fun to read a sexy little romp from time to time. When I picked up this book I was ready to just zone out and not take things too seriously for a while. And luckily, this book allowed me to do just that.

There were some vagueness, some weird twists and turns and decisions, and some bizarre dialogue (made ever more evident when my boyfriend decided to read me a chapter out loud... some things might sound ok in your head

To be honest, this book was maybe a 2.25 for me, but a lot of that is just because I like MacGillivray. I think maybe I read the three books in this series a little too fast and maybe some time in between would have been better. This one was just so much like the first and second. In all three books, the man is representing himself as somebody else (not a spoiler, it's in the first 30 pages). They're all part of a family that was ruined by the women's grandfather and they're out for revenge, but ...more

Series Review:
This is a fun series. I enjoyed that each book had a really unique and different atmosphere from any other series I have ever read. Seriously, the series gives off a vibe that kind feels like a mixture between: historical romance meets medieval times meets old school fairy tale meets fantasy. You would think this mixture would cause the reader to feel unsettled or confused and lead to a bad read and experience; only somehow Ms MacGillivary pulls this odd combination off. I found th

It was supposed to be a simple task, really. Doing his part in his eldest brother's plan to bring down the company of the man responsible for their father's suicide, Trevelyn Mershan goes undercover to get close to Raven Montgomerie and use her to get close to her brother Cian and the business the three Mershan brothers were preparing for a hostile takeover. But it bothered Trev on a deep level that he hadn't been able to get the beautiful Raven out of his mind since first seeing

I enjoyed reading this quirky paranormal romance. I loved the Big Bad Wolf and Red Riding Hood both. Yes, love strikes very quickly, and some may find that not realistic. But then what's realistic about a clockwork gypsy's fortunes being cryptic but correct every single time? There's a lot of fairy tale references in this book, and it is itself a lovely fairy tale in which love triumphs. It's light reading for when you need something to take you to a land far, far away. There are more books in t ...more

There are parts of this book I liked a lot. I found Raven and Trev likeable, but the talking aloud to themselves and the fairy tale/wolf/red riding hood thing got OOOOOOOOLLLLLLDDDDD. I liked the gypsy connection, but I think they resolution of the merger/takeover was too little explained and Raven and Trev really didn't actually work anything out on the page. The explanation of his past was off page and the situation where he explains it and she reacts . . . all off page.

The sex scenes were ok

A wonderful find

I rated this story a five star because I could not stop reading it. Can there be a part two? I would love to read the sister's stories. And hear about the weddings and the babies and new house.

Raven is trying to get over past hurts when Trevlyan walks into Brrishan's auction party. Ravens ex is there and makes her mad at all the things are spouting. Trevlyan being the gentleman that he is comes to the rescue and pretends to be Raven' s date. Once they get together for a dance a deep connection is made. Trevlyan is wondering then if he could take that step to ruin her brother Cain and take over his rich company. The sacrifices made will test them both. But will Trevlyan give up his bro ...more

If you expect to read about a shape shifter or werewolf, this story will disappoint. The hero considers himself a "wolf" and throughout the whole book I expected at some moment a real life wolf would appear, unfortunately it didn't. There are a slight paranormal elements with a fortune-telling machine which delivers uncanny advice, recurring visions, mysterious dreams, and a ghost which do add to the mystery element. (I won't elaborate more for fear of a "spoiler alert".) Overall, I liked the bo ...more

The 3rd in a series in which 3 brothers "befriend" 3 sisters in order to get revenge for the death of their father a long, long time ago. I liked this one best. Fun, light read!!!
