05/14/12: I just think that I generally enjoy Dakota Cassidy's work. I've made that assumption and I'm sticking to it.

I really like this novel in the Accidental Friends series. Perhaps it's because the character of Casey is very relatable to me as the reader. Or maybe it's because Cassidy brought back one of her characters that I was intrigued by (anyone remember Clayton--Gregori's stand-up friend in Accidentally Dead? Well, say hi to his return.). This novel also has another attribute that the previous three did not--a change in personality. It's true that two of the three main female characters gained potty mouths and a thicker skin, but Casey's character literally had another woman's tendencies to fight against and it was a really interesting switch to read in Cassidy's work.

Casey, I think, is one of the more relatable characters--for me, at least. Casey's bookwormish and quiet, not to mention a practical thinker who doesn't really worry about herself, but rather focuses on fixing the messes of those around her. She seemed the most human (pardon the pun) out of the four female characters at this point. I liked her struggle for calm amidst the demon blood struggling to bring out the "Hildegard" in her. It seemed the easiest to believe, despite the book's material.

Naturally, of course, the material had to have a twist as well.
Enter a child.

Not Casey's of course, but I think this was the first time that I was genuinely surprised by the secret, and consequently the twist, that the male character wasn't telling the female character. Before, it was always, "there's this woman, see, and she wants my bod, but I don't want hers, but I can't tell you cause you'll martyr yourself". Instead, it was all of that, but because of a child. Original Cassidy's stuff isn't, but it's damn good to read regardless.

Overall, the antagonist was good, the protagonists were good, the male and female leads were good, the sex was good. You've got all of the previous characters returning for a showdown as well. (and, yes--this includes my most favorite of the characters, Archibald) It isn't as climatic as I thought it would be, but satisfying nonetheless but for the heroics and who they belong to. Give this a read--it's really good.(less)

Accidentally Demonic is the fourth book in the Accidental friends series by the hilarious Dakota Cassity. Accidentally Demonic is the fourth book in the Accidental friends series by the hilarious Dakota Cassity. When I first started this series a little while back I thought of it as refreshing, witty and enteraining. I was scared that each book wouldn't live up to the first because of it's predictable outcomes, girl turns into supernatural being by accident, has trouble accepting her faith, and then falls in love with guy, but honeslty it is really super enteraining to read, and a hoot all the way through. The characters are great. Wanda, Marty and Nina are featured in each book, and for that I'm glad, because I love their characters. Marty, the color wheel Bobby Sue Makeup obbsessed vampire, Wanda the responsible, caring, half Were, half Vampire, and of course Nina. Nina is something else. Sure she's a werewolf, but her personaiblty is out of this world. She's a kick ass, foul mouth babe, who, if your her friend will have your back, and if your not her friend, will stab it.

This time around, the lady that undergoes a different fate is Casey, Wanda's younger sister.
Casey winds up with a temper that can match Ninas on a good day, and surpass it on a bad day. She shoots fire from her hands, leveates and looks fearless with her red eyes.
I guess it's safe to say she's now a Demon, hense the title, but really, that's only the start of her problems. She's not your typical Demon, she doesn't smell, act or look the part of a Demon. It was an accident of course, but I'd say she has had the worst case of the life altering fate into a supernatural. Vampire, werewolf is quite predictable, although still have surprises, but a Demon? Who knows what could happen to Casey, and what will.

Caseys fate is thanks to the handsome Vampire named Clay. He didn't mean for it to happen, but what's done is done, and he will be sure to look after Casey, if Casey will let him, that is. He has more secrets than Casey is comfertable with, and he's not too willing to tell them to her.
Last but not least, one of my new favorite secondary characters of the book, Darnell. Darell is the big Demon, with a big heart, who helps Casey learn what to expect as a Demon. He was a great character for the story, and fun to read.

Honestly, I really enjoy Dakota Cassity's writing. I know I'm in for a treat when I read a new Accidental Friends novel. The Accidental Demon was a fun filled read. The characters are briliant, then plot is exciting, and there's always a steamy romance put in for good measure. If you enjoy a down right Laugh out Load read, with charming characters, supernatural beings and great action, then this is the series for you! If not, it's still worth the try, you shant! be disapointed.

What I LOVED: I adore that Casey is brave enough (stupid enough-same thing sometimes) to stand up to even the likes of Nina. Hildegard was a great foe, she was snarky, b*tchy, and willing to do anything to win. It took someone like Casey to stand up to her. This book fulfilled on the fun meter which is why I love this whole series. Really what I loved most is the "love" that is in the book! Not only between the Casey and Clay but also between all the couples/families/friends!

I was at Barnes and Nobles one day and the cover of this book really caught my eye so I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, I sat down with it 5 times, read some, then eventually never picked it back up. It was an ok book, I just found other books after this that were MUCH MORE interesting. After reading the fourth book of the Accidental Friends by Dakota Cassidy, all I can think about was "Thank God I'm done with the series."

Don't get me wrong, I like her books. They're funny and witty, but I noticed a couple of things in her writing that I find annoying and irritating.

Yes, another one of the Accidental Friends books. They're just too awesome! I laugh so much when I read these; they really stick a smile on your face.

The Setting -- still the greater New York area, though this one seems to stay in a few apartments for the most part.

As a character I think in the end I will end up liking Casey the most because she sucks it up, puts on her big girl panties, and accept what has happened to her. That's what's natural to me, so I really relate to characters who act like that. The other girls, Wanda, Marty and Nina play big roles in this story as well. I have to say, I was a huge fan of Wanda's character arc through the first three books, but she got on my nerves playing the bossy median in this one - but I'm fairly sure that was intentional. The romantic interest.... I don't blame Casey for scorching him a few times. He is obnoxiously male, but a really good guy.

The Plot -- had several twists and turns. I really liked how things were stripped away slowly and painfully. I think at one time Wanda uses the analogy of ripping a band-aid off; well these band-aids obviously hurt the characters and made them feel uncomfortable. I thought the conflicts were very believable considering the characters and settings. The romance was a thrown together, but because of the circumstances of the characters - it makes sense. The characters even address it themselves, which I thought was cool.

I'm going to go ahead and say it; I don't suggest reading these books back to back. I love them; I'm going to reread them later on when I want something to laugh about. With that said, and understanding that these are romance books - some of the sex scenes seem to be replayed. I can sort of assume guy will do this, and girl will do this, and then that'll happen. That's my one and only complaint about these books and I wasn't going to say anything but then I wouldn't be honest. They're still awesome, read them, enjoy them, hope there's more coming!(less)

Although I started off this series in love with Dakota Cassidy, by the time I got to Book 3 I was definitely falling out of love with it. The story lines are slim at best, there's way too much dialogue and not enough characterization. And if I may say it, Nina is starting to work my nerves. The fourth installment of the "Accidentally" series is by far the best of the series. The plot is filled with twists, turns, and delightful new characters that you simply fall in love with. And of course, Casey starts to fall for Clay but the demon who’s blood she’s got pumping through her veins won’t have that!

Accidentally Demonic is the best of the Accidental Series! Ms. Cassidy’s voice can be heard through every single character, from Wanda to Marty. She really is on a role with Accidentally Demonic, it truly is the best of the entire series. The new characters are hysterical, a Jamaican Demon who speaks patois and the one liners made me snort, there’s a line where Casey is speaking to the Jamaican Demon and calls him Mr Tallymon, I about died. There are two new characters that I can see branching off for a new series, I fell in love with both of them (one is a male demon with a heart of gold). If you are a fan of the Accidental Series, you won’t be disappointed when you get your hands on a copy of Accidentally Demonic! This author was recommended to me by a friend who knows I enjoy the humor in Janet Evanovich's books. I was told that Dakota Cassidy's were just as funny.

I really wanted to like this book mainly because it seemed unusual to me. At first though, I didn't. It started out with a bunch of crazy women trash talking each other and I mean TRASH TALKING. So far this book starts off slower than the others. I was kind of annoyed with the main character but slowly warmed up to her. Just like the rest in the series the main girl is accidentally turned into some paranormal creature and has a tough time accepting it and ends up in a bunch of trouble. Fun fluff. It reminded me of Mary Janice Davidson in a lot of ways. Irreverent, snappy dialogue, characters not taking themselves too seriously, bad situations solved in the most random of ways.

This was my first Demon related novel and I am glad it was Dakota book that was my first. I totally love how she writers her books they are so easy to relate to the character (even under the circumstances). She also described certain situation so vividly I sometime could imagine the things happening. I also like how these books can be independant novels and or read in a series format. In Accidentally Demonic not only did we have the original three Dakota also introduced new character, she also re introduced Clayton. Clayton which was originally from Accidentally Dead. I really liked that because not only are we getting to know Casey our protagonist we also get to know Clayton better. This book is a bundle of joy at times there are serious moments, then there is romance, sarcastic and witty moments, and then there are moment that make you wonder. Not only is it a bundle of joy it is also a full house we get a lot of the awesome Paranormals in one book. I adore this cover (actually all her covers) it is so eye catching, as well the colors are so bright and I hate orange. I can keep going on about how much I adored this book, but there isn't enough room on my blog. This book had to be my favorite in the whole series. I can't wait to see what Dakota does with Accidentally Catty to bad that the release date seems so far.

Just a reminder this book is an Adult series and is not attend for teens. I just felt like i was introducing a movie. "This book is not attend for teens, it may contain coarse language, and sexual content readers please be advised." (As I say that last thought in a broadcasters voice He he he he :) ).

This book is number four in the Accidental Friends Series by Dakota Cassidy, and even thought I love Dakota's writing style and her free and frequent use of the F-word, this book didn't hold its own for me like the others. It was however still a very cute book in so many ways because I did feel happy after reading, but I just don't know if the cute was enough. I absolutely love Dakota Cassidy’s writing and for me she is an automatic buy whenever she has a new book out. Her Accidental friends series is so hilarious, snarky, fun, romantic and sweet, what is not to love. The new installment in the series is definitely NOT a disappointment.

This time around we get to meet Casey, sister of Wanda, who was the heroine of Accidentally Human. Casey has kept her distance from her sister for a long time and their relationship is far from close. Until one day she finds herself in jail and she can’t even remember why.

Wanda comes to the rescue and tagging along come her two best friends, Nina and Marty. Casey has no idea what’s wrong with her, but when she starts floating in the air and fire starts sparkling from her fingers she realizes something is really wrong with her.

That’s when vampire hottie Clayton shows up to take responsibility for her state and she finds out she has demon blood on her and the substance is mixing with her DNA and giving her these strange powers and urges.

I loved Casey as leading lady, she was funny and quirky and since she has been out of the original main trio of friends, it was great to see her annoyance with her sister’s friends and their intruding ways. I really enjoyed seeing how much she grows throughout the book and to see her and Clayton attraction become something much deeper and lovely.

Clayton is such an awesome hero. He is an idiot at times and has made a lot of mistakes, but his flaws are what make him such a lovable and relatable character. His and Casey’s chemistry sizzles on the page and it was damn smexi to read.

I had marked a couple really funny quotes from the book, but my dad packed it and sent it to Brazil before I could get them to the computer =(, but i have to say how funny this book is… Dakota got me laughing out loud so many times that my dad came to my room to find out if I was ok LOL

If you are into Paranormal Romance and up for a lot of sexy and laughs, this is definitely the book and series for you!(less)

This series always provides good laughs, a yummy guy, a twisted-from-the-start mated-for-eternity love story and some sort of fight scene. But you always know there'll be a HEA. Sometimes a girl just wants a little light, humorous, love story where everyone gets their HEA. That's this series, in a nutshell, for me.

The previous books in the series, The Accidental Werewolf, Accidentally Dead and The Accidental Human told the stories of Marty/Keegan, Nina/Greg and Wanda/Heath. An odd group of girls who found themselves working together and then their worlds turned upside down by something paranormal.

In Accidentally Demonic, we meet Casey Schwartz, Wanda's little sister, who's in jail for assaulting a police officer and has no memory of it. The gang comes to her rescue and while they try to find out what happened to Casey, Clayton Gunnersson (vampire and friend of the girls' husbands) tells them that he accidentally spilled demon's blood on Casey. The result ... she's now (and forever will be) part demon.

When Casey starts levitating (caused by her anger), she starts to wonder why her sister and her friends aren't freaking out like her. The girls proceed to fill her in on the last couple of years and their new para-selves. Casey has a hard time believing everything they say, but who can argue when she herself is levitating and can shoot fire from her fingertips?

The girls are hilarious with their constant bickering, (some of the girls' dialogue can get annoying b/c it's so mellow dramic, but that's partly what makes some of it is so funny) but they always have the best of intentions and make a plan to help Casey adjust to her new demon state and uncontrollable powers. Which Darnell, a demon friend of Clay's, relays to her is like "...givin' an AK-47 to a preschooler who had too much Mountain Dew at snack time."

Little do they know, there's much more to the story than Clay has let on. He tries to keep the rest of the story from the girls, but eventually they find out everything and insist on helping him. It's the "Paranormal Mod Squad" to the rescue.(less)
