I love Ellison's writing, and when it comes to creativity and business he's one of the cleverest minds out there. (He's also the Master of the Vented Spleen, and someone I try to channel when I need to get something off my chest.) The only problem with Ellison is that he is his own highest opinion of himself.

Case in point: this screenplay. Ellison was told to write whatever he wanted, and did just that. He takes great pride in both the script and its rejection by the Hollywood Man, and that's al
