Since coincidence makes the world go round, a friend bought me the first three Blood Coven novels as a Christmas present a few weeks before I received BAD BLOOD. I'm happy that the series has been recovered, since the original covers were cute but lacked homogeniety. As for BAD BLOOD itself, I'm glad it focuses on Sunny rather than Rayne.
I'm not gonna lie; Rayne annoys me. I've always been a member of at least one subculture, but I have loyalties to a variety of groups. This usually leads to peo...more

It is not easy being a seventeen years old high school student especially having a boyfriend who is a thousand years old vampire. Complicating matters for Magnus the vampire head of the Blood Coven and human Sunny McDonald is she does not want to convert while his followers demand he accept a blood mate to co-rule; humans are forbidden. While he conceals his destiny from her, she learns all about it from Rhodes Scholar Oxford University magna cum laude Jane Johnson, the coven's chosen one.

Though this is the fourth book in a series, the author does a great job of summarizing the major events of the past three books for new readers. When Sunny's vampire boyfriend is assigned a gorgeous soon-to-be-vampire as his blood mate, Sunny and her twin sister, Rayne, follow the vampires to Las Vegas, where they proceed to dig up dirt that proves the beauty isn't who she says she is, all the while getting to know family members they haven't met before.

Bad Blood is the 4th book in the Blood Coven Vampire novels by Mari Mancusi. At the end of Girls That Growl, Sunny learns a disturbing bit of information about her vampire boyfriend Magnus, he’s been assigned a new blood mate by the council named Jane. Sunny gets a bad vibe from this new Jane person right away and decides she’s got to do something to find out what her real story is and save Magnus from making the biggest mistake of his eternal life. Rayne is of course along for this ride but isn...more
(2.5)Yes, I didn’t read the other three books. That could be the possibility as to way the stars are low and why I don’t really know the characters and how they normally act. I actually heard they weren’t themselves in this one, but I can’t really judge. I just wasn’t feeling it in this one.
Magnus doesn’t seem like a very understanding character, but who am I to know? I found Sunny to be very likable but I found her sister to be more interesting. I could completely understand her feelings toward...more

In the 4th installment of the Blood Coven Novels. Sunny is enjoying being loved by the Blood Coven Leader Magnus and school and just enjoying being the girlfriend to the Leader of the local vampires Sunny happiness is taken a curve when she discovers the Council and in all their wisdom has decided Magnus is to take a blood mate to help him run the coven. Not that a good admin would have worked better!! In walks Jane Johnson a so called magna cum laude graduate from Oxford University. Sunny is no...more
Before moving on to my thoughts, I want to say that I have NOT read the previous Blood Coven novels, and due to that, I probably missed some character development that happened in the previous novels. On the other hand, I can say first-hand that Mari Mancusi skillfully introduced me to the world of the Blood Coven and I was able to quickly grasp the concepts. This review will also be solely focused on Bad Blood without any influence from previous books.

So, I'm not in a good mood while reading this but Mancusi's jokes never fail to make me grin. Or laugh.
In the fourth book of Blood Coven, which was told from Sunny's point of view, her vampire boyfriend, Magnus, has finally assigned to a blood mate, something she's very afraid of. Magnus having a blood mate equals to Magnus having a wife. And where's she gonna be?
But she smells something fishy about Jane, the blood mate. Oxford graduates, miss smart-ass while she actually know nothing about Oxfo...more

In this installment of the Blood Coven Series we join Sunny again as things were finally settling down or so she thinks. As she is all goo goo with Magnus after Rayne's football game she hears a voice calling out to Magnus, Sunny then learns that this is no normal girl but infact Magnus' new blood mate but something just dont seem right about Jane who is this character in Bad Blood. As a big vampire convention comes to Las Vegas Magnus tells Sunny she can not attend even though she has suspected...more
I skipped pretty much the middle bulk of this book, usually i try not to even if i'm bored, but with Bad Blood i just didn't see the point. However, from what i did read, this seems like a pretty good book, and it's my attention spans fault and not Mari Mancusi's fault that i couldn't be bothered reading it.
It has all the main things which i love in a book, romance, mystery, and some kind of superntaural theme, and though i didn't finish it i am fairly prompted to go back, read the rest of the...more

Bad blood us about a mortal named sunny mcdonald. She has a boyfriend named magnus. Everything is perfect about her reletionship with magnus. They were actually planning their night of finally giving up being virgens. Until sunny finds out that magnus was assigned to a blood mate.
I can relate to sunny because she wanted everything to go perfect with magnus and his blood mate ruined everything. She doesn't want to loose her perfect boyfriend because sbityer woman came along in the picture.

Bad Blood, the fourth book in Blood Coven Vampire series, is the first book I have read. After reading the short prologue I felt quite caught up in past events and easily settled into this book.

These twins...they barely get out of one problem when they're already getting sucked into the next! Bad cases of mistaken identity seem to be a theme in this series.
This next problem though, is for Sunny. Everything was going peachy with Sunny and Magnus...until a bomb was dropped on us all in the last book: Magnus is getting a blood mate! YES, A FREAKIN' BLOOD MATE! Oh my vamp!
But there is something off about Magnus's soon-to-be blood mate...and Sunny is smart eno...more

Review:
I am getting close to the end of the series. Ok halfway through anyways. Another good one is check off my list. This installment takes place in Vegas and is a lot of fun, we have jealousy, surprises, and of course some funny business going on and Sunny and Rayne’s life just keeps getting more and more complicated.
Long Story Short:
Magnus heads to Vegas to a vampire convention (teehee) and his new candidate for co-ruler, Jane, tags along, things get a little complicated. Sunny has a jealous...more

This instalment in the Blood Coven series has Sunny as the narrator, like the first book. I have to say, I think I prefer Rayne's narrative, because Sunny is a little whiny and a little bit childish at times. Although, having said this, there were some points in the book that I really enjoyed reading, especially when Sunny was having a pillow fight with Stormy. But I won't spoil who Stormy is.

This is the fourth book in the Blood Coven series which features twin sisters Sunshine (Sunny) and Rayne McDonald.
Sunny, as those of you who follow this series know, is the girlfriend of Magnus, Master vampire of the Blood Coven. Sunny is a human, but experienced a shock of her life when she was mistakenly bitten by Magnus 5 months previously, and nearly became a vampire herself. *See Boys That Bite. Magnus thought she was Rayne, her identical twin, who went through all the vampires pre-testing...more

I love Mari Mancusi's Blood Coven series so it came as no surprise that I liked this one just as much as the others. They are all so light and funny and I adore the sisters! It is great that Mancusi goes back and forth between the sisters points of view for each book. I enjoy getting to read their hilarious adventures! They have a strong bond with one another and I delight in seeing them work together in every book to help solve the others problems. If you haven't yet tried the Blood Coven serie...more

Plot: I haven't gotten back to the series for awhile, so when I saw it on the shelf, I grabbed it before anyone could take it. I was absolutely glad I did because this series continues to not disappoint. When I saw that it was in Sunny's view, I wasn't sure I was going to like it because I was so used to reading Rayne's POV. However, I did like Sunny's view because it was nice to see a human's POV in a vampire series that doesn't want to be a vampire, but feels in some situations that she was wh...more
This may have been my favorite book in the Blood Coven series yet! I absolutely loved it. I thought it was back to the refreshing aspect of Boys That Bite.
I love Sunny as a narrator. I just really like her as a character - and I think that's one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed this book so much. The last two books were narrated by Rayne, and I was ready for a break. I loved the new characters introduced like Jayden and Stormy. Jayden was such a good hearted guy, and the entire time I was most...more

Sunny McDonald is living an atypical teenage life. Her boyfriend, Magnus, a centuries-old vampire, is Master of one of the most powerful covens in the world. Her twin sister, Rayne, has been transformed into a vampire (by her own choosing), but has somehow managed to retain some of her human qualities, AND is a vampire slayer for Slayer, Inc.

What should I write...I feel a bit tired after reading so much ;___;
I'm non-stop reading this serie...but I love the idea of the books.
I'm quite suprised with Magnus change ...I mean... seems a bit unrealstic after the first book.
But ok I laughed often and I like the book and the it's again a really good story...But I think I favour the third book more! Maybe because Sunny is still human... BUUT I couldn't stop reading the book!
I'm so tired I hope no one is every reading this review x_x

I totally loved this book! It was funny, it had vampires in it( duh!) It had a very good story line, and I loved that they were in Vegas. That just added on to the excitement. I want to read more of her books just because this one was so awesome! Sunny is totally my favorite character. Sarcasm must run in her blood or something. Ha ha. Blood. Get it? Because it's a vampire book? *crickets...* Oh well, I thought it was funny, and I cannot wait till the next book! =D
I have to say, I am a little frustrated when goodreads site breaks and losing all that I've written. So let start again with my review of Bad Blood...
I'm disappointed with myself, I've just started into this series at book 4. The storyline isn't rocket science, so I didn't feel as though I missed out on any character development, but I can't wait to read the first three books.

“What, are you like Buffy or something? A vampire slayer?”
I wish. “No, but my sister is. And my boyfriend’s a vampire so I know a lot about their kind.”
Jayden shrinks back from me, wide-eyed.
“No, no. He’s one of the good ones. Not all vampires are evil,” I assure him.
“So…you’re dating…Edward Cullen.”
“Sure, if you have to relate it all to a Stephenie Meyer book,” I grudgingly agree. “But don’t say that to Magnus’s face. He’s a card-carrying member of Team Jacob. Even has the T-shirt.”
