Wow. What an interesting plot. I like that Ashley & JaQuavis managed to put a spin on the typical urban novel with an intricate plot and rather disturbing ending. With two leading male characters, it's amazing that I found it impossible to hate either one. Free was hot tempered and relentless in his demeanor. Britain was calm but vicious. I'm always pleased whenever I find a street novel that doesn't incorporate scenes full of blood and gore. Ashley & JaQuavis do a good job of relaying a...more
Hmm okay - not sure where to begin with this review. I was anticipating the novel, was happy when it dropped and I couldn't wait to begin reading it. But once I started reading it, I noticed something familiar. This was a story that has been told and was simply recycled, by Chapter 7 I already knew how the rest of the book was going to go & needless to say, I was highly disappointed. I am not sure what is going on right now with these urban books - but there definitely needs to be some bette...more
I love reading Ashley & JaQuavis' works because they normally turn out really quick reads with intersting story lines. This one however, was very difficult for me to get through the first 7 chapters because they were so contradicting. However, once I got through that the storyline thickened the plot became more interesting and it became a book that I didn't want to put down, which is what I am used to from them. Throughout the book there were many predictable outcomes that once predicted the...more
While Free and Six are the main characters of this book, Britain"Bricks" Adams is the one who stole my heart in this tale. When Free and his best friend Big Lou, screw up a hit for Bricks, he in turns doesn't pay Free what he owes. Free then comes up with a plan that will put his girlfriend Six, in the arms of another man. Love and Loyalty are soon put to the test. Does Six stay with the man who loved her and treated her like the hood princess that she is, pr does she go with the one who will up...more

This book was actually good although it was hard to follow at first because it starts off in retrospect .... Well actually it starts off at the ending of the storyline and then the WHOLE story is about the past. I thought that was a good twist to the storyline and it was a really good love story.
Ok, it seemed like it was a tragedy right from the start which made me so sad that I didn't want to finish the book. I overcame my sadness and did finish it but not without a sigh at the end. It seems like there is a moral "Your actions do catch up to you!" That being said I thought Six was something else with killing herself for a man that was barely faithful to her. It was just a story of constant tragedy!
One day read. I couldn't put it down. My only complaint is how Six is the stupidest character ever written. Nothing in this world would have made me go back to Free's triflin self. If he's her soul mate then her soul is jacked up.
