[Es cómico que antes yo detestara a Gallegos y ahora me encante].

33 cuentos en los que -vamos con lo típico- el llano, el campo, la ciudad y la tradición están presentes. Y aparte, va mucho más allá de estos tópicos clásicos en la narrativa de Gallegos; explora además la miseria y la angustia humana, la decepción, el dolor, la ira. Representa los sentimientos humanos muy bien en un contexto criollo, o si se quiere, venezolano.

Prosa perfectamente fluida, rica en adjetivos y palabras de época. Reí
