While technically this book is an "early reader" I'm keeping it in the picture book category.
Another fun book in the Fly Guy series. You might think in the beginning it's going to ba girls are better than boys story, but it is a nice cozy story about frienship and how boys and girls can be friends, and that the flies are loyal to their humans.
Cute book.

I have to confess, I don't get the allure of these "Fly Guy" books. But if you have a son in Kinder or so, I bet he will love them. We are reading and re-reading about 4 different ones right now. This one is my favorite of the bunch. Tedd Arnold writes other kids' books too, and we have a few that we've borrowed from the library.
This was an interesting story about flies and they are used as a pet in this book. A couple of pages just have pictures and made up words that the flies say to each other, so children can say what they think these words mean and tell waht is happening in the pictures.
now that our world has expanded heavily into easy reader territory, titles like this are a refreshing (granted at times gross) breath of air from the dull standards. Fly girl almost makes fly guy leave his Buzz...as he is smitten and vice versa. Fun.
I was a little worried about this book having mushy stuff that would be difficult to explain to the young audience who enjoy this book. However, my young audience enjoyed this one as much as the other Fly Guy books.
Fly Guy's hitting a sweet spot when it comes to reading practice for the boy. So glad that there's a slew of them . . . He reads most of the words himself, while I sort of hang out for backup when needed.

Fly guy meets fly girl is hilarious. One hilarious is when flyguy ate ... Throwup.Another thing that happened was fly guy banging on the windows.
In Fly Guy Meets Fly Girl, Buzz and Lizz compare their pet flies. The flies become fast friends and even envision romance, but loyalty and friend win. It is hard to keep Fly Guy on the shelves, I hope Tedd Arnold keeps writing these quick adventures and lessons of friendship. Fly Guy is a series.
Technically, this is an easy reader, but for all intents and purposes, I've shelved it as a picture book--a romance picture book. How adorable.
Very simple early reader that is fun for both boys and girls. I loved it. Need to read more of the Fly Guy books.
I love this book. I think the boys and girls would love to read this story and it would really engage them.
My emerging reader loves the fly guy books. It could be a gender thing. But I too think they're pretty cute.
The Fly Guy series is a work of genius! The boys are especially crazy about these easy readers:)

Recommended to me by a second-grader today. It's a good read.
I liked it when Fly guy and Fly girl kept talking.
Not a lot of substance, or nuance.

Fun reading to my little brother
Ages 4 to 8
This series of easy readers about a boy who has a fly for a pet are just great. My son loves reading them. They are funny and even a little gross which is, apparently, very appealing to a 5 year old boy.
The "Fly Guy" books are great for beginning readers. And this particular Fly Guy book is the first one that Max read on his own, just for fun!

Love fly guy and all his adventures with buzz. This book is a good transitional chapter book for those that are low level readers.

Tedd grew up with three brothers. His family lived on a farm in Pennsylvania for several years then returned to Elmira until Tedd was ten years old. His father's work then required that they move to Gainesville, Florida. There, Tedd's first art lessons in an abandoned dentist's office over the Happy Hour pool hall eventually led to a fine arts degree from the University of Florida.
