Biographies are never fast reads for me, this one included (which was actually an autobiography). But I loved reading about Elder Nelson from his vantage point and before he became an apostle for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, I felt very tired at the end after traveling with him on his many excursions. He grew up with parents who were not active in the faith. It took them 40 years to get to the temple. One of the best biographies I have ever read. With it being an autobiography I felt much more personal than other church biographies. Not only do you get to learn about the life of Russell M. Nelson which has been an inspiring dedication to God, family, and community, you also get to learn about the history of how modern open heart surgery came to be.
