This is a simply fantastic book. I'm a member of a group on Facebook where every six months we vote for a language to learn together for those six months. The last language we did was Russian and, being a massive fan (addict, evem!) of the Colloquial series, I worked my way through this book.

The Colloquial Series is a generally good start for people seeking to learn a new language. I would say that the main reason why I personally enjoy using this series is that it include increasingly longer and more detailed texts with each lesson (which is good for building vocab) and the translation exercises which make you think of applying the grammar and the vocabulary you learn - which I prefer much more than just learning a lot of grammar rules; I find it easier to just apply them and not g ...more
