This is the second book in the Warriors: Omen of the Stars series. It appears to be the fourth of many series about wild cats. With about 300 pages, this is a great book for older children to start expanding their reading comprehension abilities and challenging themselves with longer books.

Wow, that was really exciting. There was so much doubt and so many secrets, and I really think that that had to do with the author's message. Dovepaw and Ivypaw, who used to tell each other everything, have lost so much trust! They each have an important secret to keep, and their secrets are really tearing them apart from each other.

I love my sister, and it's hard for me to keep even a small secret from her. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to hide everything from her. When it comes...more Wow, that was really exciting. There was so much doubt and so many secrets, and I really think that that had to do with the author's message. Dovepaw and Ivypaw, who used to tell each other everything, have lost so much trust! They each have an important secret to keep, and their secrets are really tearing them apart from each other.

I love my sister, and it's hard for me to keep even a small secret from her. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to hide everything from her. When it comes down to it, I really think I'd rather tell her everything. Having a close sibling is like having a best friend. They're always there for fun and support. But best friends also fight. Siblings can't always get along, and they don't.

Family is complicated, and Dovepaw and Ivypaw aren't the only example of that in this book. Jayfeather and Lionblaze feel so much hatred towards Leafpool and Squirrelflight, their mother and aunt. Jayfeather is disgusted with the idea of a medicine cat going against the rules and having babies. because of that he hates his mother, and tries to avoid her as much as possible. But in the time that he does spend with her, I can tell that not only does she love and miss him, but he loves her to.

Sometimes loving someone makes them easier to hate. I'm sure that I'm not the first one to realize that, but it's absolutely true. When you really have strong feelings for someone, it's easier for those feelings to turn negative than to just disappear.

Jayfeather also finds out that Yellowfang had a son who she killed. Killing your own child seems crazy and inexcusable, but I can kind of understand it. Being Brokenstar's mother, Yellowfang obviously cared for him. Even though she loved him at first, he was a mistake. She wasn't supposed to have children. So when he turned evil, it was easy for her to misinterpret that love as hate. It was easier to kill him than to live with him, so that's what she did.

Although it worked out for Yellowfang, I'm not saying that you should kill your family members, even if they do bug you. What I'm really trying to say, and what I think the author was trying to say, is that family may be complicated, but hurting eachother doesn't help anything. The more you push your family away, the harder it will be to deal with them. There are no rules when it comes to love, but it's even harder when it's with your family. There's no escape, so you ultimately just have to learn to deal with them.

Even when your family feels impossible, the best way to deal with them is just to express what you're feeling. As shown by Dovepaw and Ivypaw, even when you feel really far from them, they'll always be there for you when you need them. Secrets don't help anything, and they really only make family more complicated. (less)

In the second book of the newest Warriors series, Dovepaw must learn how to control her powers, which also means following the warrior code and not breaking the rules all the time. Each cat that is part of the Three struggles with different problems. Dovepaw can't seem to forget the friends she made during the journey and gets herself in big trouble. Lionblaze manages to kill the Shadowclan deputy without actually meaning to during the latest fight that has broken out between Thunderclan and Sha...more In the second book of the newest Warriors series, Dovepaw must learn how to control her powers, which also means following the warrior code and not breaking the rules all the time. Each cat that is part of the Three struggles with different problems. Dovepaw can't seem to forget the friends she made during the journey and gets herself in big trouble. Lionblaze manages to kill the Shadowclan deputy without actually meaning to during the latest fight that has broken out between Thunderclan and Shadowclan. Jayfeather, the blind but yet all-knowing medicine cat, makes his usual journey to the Moonpool, but finds himself roaming around in the Dark Forest instead of in Starclan, and learns much from his own small journey. And, although she isn't directly involved with the Three, is Ivypawy, Dovepaw's very jealous sister. She wants to learn of Dovepaw's big secret and is angry every time her own sister is singled out by the senior warriors. They also praise her for her great hunting skills and don't really like having Ivypaw tagging along with them. With the help of a very evil cat, she becomes very powerful and just as eveil without really knowing it. And that cat was the one who told her to tell Firestar, the leader of Thunderclan, to start the fight in the first place. Does she feel any guilt at all now that there were so many injuries from the fight? Will she find out the cat visiting her dreams is actually bad?

I found that this recent series, which is the fourth series, is way more interesting than the last two, excluding the first series. There's tons of conflict that happens and makes the story even more interesting. I'm curious to find out if Dovepaw will ever tell Ivypaw that she has special powers, or if Ivypaw will ever tell Dovepaw about the cat she met in her dreams. I'm also wondering if Lionblaze and Jayfeather will make up with Squirrelflight and Leapool and if Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw will always be mad at each other. I can't wait till the next book comes out!(less)

There is a very intriguing twist seemingly on the horizon of this series though; the cats of the Dark Forest seem to be training for a battle under the tutelage of who else, but TigerStar. But these cats are already dead, what use could they possibly have for training for a battle? In 'Fading Echoes, we discover that much like he attempted to manipulate his son BrambleClaw in 'The New Prophecy' and then LionBlaze in 'PO3', TigerClaw has been visiting certain cats in their dreams, to manipulate them for his own devious plans. He chooses cats with scores to settle, like BreezePelt, or his kin, like with TigerHeart...but as we begin to learn no cat is off limits for TigerStar. The cover of the book depicts IvyPaw, DovePaw's sister. IvyPaw is noticing that her siser is being treated differently around the camp, however she isn't aware that this is because DovePaw is part of any prophecy. IvyPaw feels her sister is a favorite, of the clan leader, and other senior cats, and she becomes jealous. TigerStar obviously sees this as a perfect weakness, for a cat so well placed in ThunderClan. He sends HawkFrost to begin walking in her dreams, and we get to see just how good the cats of the dark forest are at deception and manipulation to accomplish their means.

JayFeather for his part actually visits the DarkForest, with StarClan cats YellowFang and SpottedLeaf in an attempt to discover what TigerStar is up to. JayFeather is convinced the cats of the Dark Forest will rise up eventually and force a battle between the clan cats, and I believe he's right...thinking this is an ideal way to build up suspense till the ending of this final Warriors series.

I also think, as I have previously mentioned in my review of 'Sunrise' the final PO3 book, that we haven't seen the last of JayFeather's and LionBlaze's sister HollyLeaf...they seem to be bringing her up more and more through as the OOTS series progresses, though they never refer to her as dead...only disappeared on as having 'left' ThunderClan. I did enjoy reading about LionBlaze & JayFeather mourning her, missing her, and generally just coming to grips with their loss. They are gaining perspective on the whole thing, much as we do in real life when faced with a loss. Their understanding of it is helping me realize things I overlooked when initially discovering the shocking events at the end of 'Sunrise'. Like how she really never did fit in with the prophecy, having no special powers, left her lost, excluded and very resentful. Nevertheless, she was their sister, and she was astute and compassionate and her own special qualities were a needed balance and voice of reason for the remaining two brothers.

Still loving this whole series, it's unbelievably addictive and compelling, cleverly written and always leaves the reader wanting more!(less)

After the more big events had happen in the previous book, this one shows the aftereffects and a relaxation of what had happen before.

So far this book's viewpoints are of Dovepaw's, Lionblaze's, and Jayfeather's views. Giving more about their character than in the books before. The book mostly seems to be on Dovepaw's view though as you meet more about other characters than you woul...more

I love this series only problem its quite hard to write a review since the series is so long, there are so many characters, and the only way you really understand the books is if you read all the books in the correct order! WOW! EPIC!! :D

Characters - 4.5/5 - I love most of them and there's a lot of awesome personalities. I prefer the characters now as I've got used to their powers and I found that there was a lot of development of the powers in this book. Jayfeather is definitely a stand-out character for me; he's incredibly intelligent, and to think he's blind is just so shocking at the same time!

i think so far this is a really great storie. its about a cat who finds out she is in the prophecy of the three and has extrodinary powers and super sharp sences.

The first arc was obviously the best and since then the books have generally gone down hill. Every once in a while you get a book that breaks the cycle, like Eclipse, but I generally read the books with the ghost of the high the first arc gave me. Fading Echoes though is kind of like Eclipse, its refreshing, sure the plots dry, but at this point I don't think the Erins stand any chance of re-hydrating it. In Fading Echoes, Dovepaw and Ivypaw; the main cats in the 4th series, learn more of the ways of the wild, and Dovepaw discovers her power to hear anything. At the same time, Shadowclan is plotting against Thunderclan to steal their territory, and the book ends with the clans battling each other in a great battle. Afterward, the cats learn The Dark Forest is trying to break the clans up, and the book ends there. Its a great book and a great series, an I recommend it to everyone.

The Dark Forest is slowly rising, training warriors, and making fake signs that lead to bloodshed. Starclan must get ready for the battle that is already brewing. Great books,[i am talking about all the warrior books i have read] has romance, action, adventure,and is a good book for cat people.I read all the warrior books in 5th grade and over the summer.
One reason i like this book is because i like cats, and they have enough action with a mixture of romance that gives u a feeling, were u are saying that this is not only a action book it also is adventrous and has a little touch of romance that makes it a few diffrent things

Reasons I like this book-

Reason 1- I can imagine what was happening.

Reason 2- Dovepaw tries using her power for the good of all the clans.

Reason 3- After I finished the book, I wanted to read the next book, Night Whispers.

Another quick and entertaining read in this series. We pick up the story shortly after #1 left off. The world the cat clans live in remains well-developed and the characters remain consistent to their basic personalities, with allowance for change and growth.

This was a huge improvement over the first book and it was more like the other Warriors books. In the first book, the cats went to unlock a river. In this one, cats from the past are creating trouble for cats of the present. This one had a good storyline and a good, short battle at the end.

This book is awesome all the cats that went to the dark forest are returning and plan to take revenge on the clans. Ten they visit cats and train them so when the battle starts the cats they trained join them. Ms.Checka if you to read about a little love betrayal and sadness I recommend this book to you.

I read a lot of these books in the 5th grade, and it just seems to me that after the 1st series, Erin Hunter's writing started to drop on the quality. All of the books are kind of the same... after a while, you want something new.It wasn't BAD or anything, but I was like, "not AGAIN!".

This is the second book in another sub-series by Erin Hunter. In this one Jayfeather and Lionblaze need to find out who is the other cat mentioned in a mysterious prophecy. I really liked this book like all warriors books. They are all well rounded with mystery and intrigue.

I really loved it. When I started reading the Fourth Apprentice I didn't know Jayfeather was blind until it started giving out hints that he was blind. I looked at the medicine cat box and saw read that he was blind.
