Based off of part three, chapter 11, 7. The Tragedy. It gives a good insight on the role of the chorus and how it changed over time, along with insight on how the playwrights developed their tragedies.

I wish I didn't have to return it because the section on the polis looks interesting. He was Nietzsche teacher, I've been told, and I'm tempted to return to Burckhart after I've read more Nietzsche to see if he was an influence.

É estranho. Por mais que seja meu tema de pesquisa, a "História da Cultura Grega de Burckhardt" não consegue me empolgar. Seu texto assistemático, seu caráter descritivo, sua recusa em adotar procedimentos hermenêuticos...tudo isto supera ois vestígios deixados aqui e acolá a respeito da sophrosine aristotélica e sobre a influência de Nietzsche e Schopenhauer.
Mas este livro será contemplado somente quando escrever algo que preste a partir dele. Ele é meio, e não fim.
