while i enjoyed this, it seemed like a bit of a detour from the main story. like he had this idea for a culture and wanted to use it so bad that he had to shoe-horn it into the plot. the main characters, Michael and Abi, spend the whole book tied to a stake! they might as well have not been there. also, the flashback sequences, which run throughout, were not clearly delineated as flashbacks and i didn't even figure that out till about 3/4 of the way through. i like this series and will keep read

A bit of a step up from the last collection, but the dog tribe story doesn't really add much. And the art is really starting to bother me. I don't get why so many authoritative voices in the comics industry have given such strong blurbs to this series.
