I finally feel like I at least "get" where these pieces come from, and flipping through the book *after* that epiphany made the reading much more pleasurable and interesting. Still not a book I'd dive into on an annual basis, but I'm much more keen on it than before (with special thanks to the culled Spork handmade chapbook edition, which sparked the light).

Blunt edged, an open skull, viscera tied in knots, worn about the neck, you won't feel like anyone else reading this book, look over your shoulder, where did your cat go, who scrawled swastikas on your truck, a pile of tires burning, gone, held, fisheads, shell casings, 0-rings, debris for your son Mouse to scream from, alarm sounds, late night telephone calls, hide from them or else.
